Blood Traitors

Her gaze lingered on his freckled face from across the great hall, her eyes tracing across every feature of his face, from the upturned corners of his devious grin to the small silvery scar that ran through his eyebrow. Sighing and aimlessly stirring her porridge, the metal clinking on the ceramic bowl as she allowed her mind to get engulfed by the prior night when those callused hands had been exploring every inch of her body...

"Darl? Are you ok?"

Bella strode into George's dorm, closing the door behind her and resting her head on his chest, sniffling quietly.

When she didn't answer he wrapped his arms tightly around her, pressing his lips to her forehead.

"My brother hates me," she choked out, the realisation sinking into her as she spoke those words aloud, dragging her down like she was full of lead.

George's stomach churned uncomfortably, amidst all the intense attraction he felt towards her, he had forgotten who she was and who she was related to.

"Just talk to him," he said stiffly, waves of unwanted annoyance flushing over him.

Wiping her eyes, Bella took a step back and laughed, "My family are not those kinds of people," she said, sadness evident in her expression even though a smile appeared on her lips.

"Sure but-" he started, rolling his eyes as a dry laugh escaped her mouth, "What?" he asked, impatience laced through his voice.

"Nothing it's just that you have this wonderful, loving family-" "So?"

George was clearly getting tetchy and Bella could sense that so she stepped back, giving him some space.

"I just think it's weird that you're trying to get me to talk to my family whe-"

He snorted, "I barely said anything to you, what are you gonna try argue about now?"

Ouch.

"Do not belittle me when you don't even know me," she said sternly, standing her ground.

Another snort.

"And most certainly, do not get annoyed when I finally give you the affection you begged me for!" she exclaimed exasperatedly.

"What is up with you!"

Taking a deep breath George spoke, venomous words spilling from his mouth.

"I did not beg for your attention, I asked to hook up and now you're trying to drag me into a relationship I clearly don't want. I only wanted to hook up," he said harshly, putting emphasis on the last words.

Ouch.

Tears stung her eyes and she let out a shaky breath.

"Wow."

She held her hands tightly in fists so that they left little moon shaped cuts.

"Ok, I'll go then," she said, tears flowing freely now.

"Fine."

Bell felt like she was on a tightrope, wavering from side to side but never falling, she couldn't possibly do that.

Boys could be replaced but sadly, her sanity couldn't.

So, in spite of her pain, she sat, scouring over old dusty books, just how every teenager wants to spend their afternoon.

Straight Outstanding's in every class, that's what she had to uphold. She had been put on an academic pedestal and she most certainly was not going to fall off, that was the only slice of pride her parents had for her and she was determined to keep it that way.

With her lips pursed in concentration, she scrawled, in incredibly neat handwriting, the properties of moonstone.

"Bella?"

A tall boy with dark hair and a crooked smile approached her.

"Adrien."

A smile did not appear on her face.

Not noticing her utter lack of interest, Adrien continued, "I'm sorry about the other day, I got a little carried away. I just can't bear to lose you Belle, I love you," he blurted out.

"No," she scoffed, snapping her book closed.

"I'm not dealing with your shit today hun, leave me alone or I'll hex you," she said bluntly.

His mouth dropped open but he regained his composure quickly, a trick he learned from his stuck up parents.

"Leave."

"Fine," he said reluctantly, knowing not to mess with her when she was cranky.

"Just let your little boyfriend know he's gonna get jumped soon and I won't be alone," he added smugly.

Scoffing, Bella stood up, "You're a fucking coward," she snapped, "And he was never my boyfriend."
