Chapter 16

"Mother, wake up!" Alika tried to resuscitate the unconscious Agatha. He didn't know much about medicine, so it was hard for him to help.

Five minutes later, there was a knock on the bedroom door. Alika hurriedly got off the bed and rushed to open the bedroom door. The first thing Alika did was breathe a sigh of relief when she saw the figure of a grown man she expected had arrived.

"Come in uncle!"

Without further ado, Alika pulled the hand of the man with slightly white hair to enter the room. The man who was roughly over fifty years old seemed calm, though he was also worried about Agatha's condition.

"Earlier Mother was fine, but when she woke up, she looked restless and sweaty," Alika explained in a hurry, "Uncle, please wake up Mother. I was afraid that Mother would be seriously ill, but I didn't know it. Please heal Mother, I beg you, Uncle," Alika pleaded at the end of her sentence.

The man who was called uncle looked silent while stroking his chin. He himself did not know exactly what caused Agatha to fall unconscious. There are many factors that make a person faint, it can be caused by illness or the burden of thinking that is too burdensome.

The grown man tried to approach Agatha. He sat on the edge of the bed, one hand he tried to bring to Agatha's nose, "He's still breathing," the man muttered.

Alika breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank God Uncle. I was so afraid if something had happened to Mother...."

"You calm down. Your mother is fine. She just needs a good rest, after a few hours she will come back to her senses," added the grown man and Alika immediately gave thanks.

"If Uncle wasn't there, I don't know what I should do. Thank you, Uncle."

The grown man felt that Alika's thanks were too much. He didn't do anything just check the pulse and pulse pressure on Agatha. However, for Alika it was already very happy.

The grown man was casually dressed and had a warm smile, adding that Alika shouldn't wake her mother, unless she wakes up herself and doesn't ask too many questions.

Alika nodded slowly, she would clearly remember the man's words and would not ask her mother much later.

Before he left, the grown man pulled the blanket and covered Agatha's body to the chest. Alika smiled gently seeing how sincerely the man cared for his mother. If only his father was still in this world, maybe he would do the same to his mother.

In the bottom of her heart, Alika hopes that her father is still alive and one day will come to pick her up. Even though Agatha said that Sanya Alika did not have a father because his father was already dead when Alika was born. However, he always felt that his father was still alive and was currently in a very far away place.

"Alice!" scolded the adult man while gently stroking Alika's hair.

"What are you doing? What, are you still thinking about your mother?" asked the man smiling gently at Alika.

"No Uncle. I have not thought about Mother. I believe she will be fine as long as Uncle is by her side," replied Alika with a meaningful smile.

There is a very great longing, buried deep in his heart for the figure of a father. Alika was no longer able to suppress this longing, she unexpectedly embraced the grown man, hugged him and felt the figure of a father in the man she called Uncle.

"Thank you, Uncle. If Uncle wasn't there, I don't know what I should do. I was really worried about Mom's condition, but not anymore. It's all thanks to Uncle."

The man only smiled bitterly, he understood the meaning of the hug and the words that came from Alika's lips. In fact, it was not just a word of thanks that was thrown out, but a longing that was so passionate that it was difficult to control.

Alika tries to put her heart back together. Why today his feelings seem to be stirred up, so that he himself is difficult to control.

The man didn't say a word, he just stroked Alika's back until the girl felt calmer than before.

Five minutes had passed, finally Alika was able to release her arms after feeling better. There was a red line under Alika's eyes which indicated that she kept crying from time to time.

The adult man stroked Alika's cheek, wiping away the tears that were still wet on her beautiful face.

"Uncle really understands your feelings right now, but you have to be strong Alika, for the sake of your mother who has tried so hard to raise you up to this point. She decided not to remarry because your mother wants her affection only for you, her daughter who she loves very much. do you understand?'

Alika nodded slowly and it was very characteristic of her mother. It was true what the grown man said, since Alika was born and they lived in this city, Agatha had never once been close to a man. Don't be with men, Agatha's female friends don't have too many of them.

Agatha prefers to keep herself from the public, until she finally meets the man who is currently standing in front of Alika.

The grown man's name is Devanca, people call him Devan. The man who lives across the street, Alika's house and Devan's face each other.

Devan lives alone and has no family living with him. Having no children or wife, his life is celibate until now.

Alika always feels at peace when Devan is by her side and seems to feel the embrace and affection of her father, which Alika has never received.

"We should leave your mother and let her rest on her own," said Devan, stroking the top of Alika's head.

Alika smiled gently, feeling very calm and peaceful when she was near Devan. He immediately invited Devan to leave the room, as Devan had said before. They had better go and let Agatha rest first without any disturbance.

Both were out of the room, at that moment Agatha began to open her eyes. After Alika and Devan were no longer seen, then Agatha realized, in fact she had heard all the conversations between Alika and Devan, only Agatha was reluctant to open her eyes.

"I'm sorry Mom, honey. Now is not the time for you to know this secret. When the time comes, I will tell you everything about Father, Mother and who Devan really is."

Agatha removed the blanket that wrapped her body, then took a deep breath, "Let Mother arrange her heart first for now. I promise to tell you everything later. So, be patient, dear."

Alika didn't realize that Agatha had actually realized when she moved her body to the right position.

Alika kept smiling broadly as she walked side by side with Devan, down the stairs to the living room in front of him.
