“Don’t know yet. After we get his paperwork straightened out, we’re going to offer him a job here. I have positions open for a dishwasher, busboys, waiters, and even a bartender if he’s willing to go to school for a few weeks and get a license. He’s too fragile to be a house sub and knows nothing about the life. While I was there last night he spent most of the night sleeping, so we didn’t get a chance to chat. He had no idea what a sub was when Danny introduced all of us to him. He’s got grit though. Spent six years out on the street and helped Danny when he didn’t have to do it. He’s a good person.”
“Well, we’ll have to wait and see,” Tom said thoughtfully. “What does he look like?”
“Dark red hair with green eyes,” Jim said with a sparkle in his eyes, because he knew that Tom liked redheads.
“Is he gay?”
Jim nodded.
“I’ll have to go over and introduce myself.” Tom wandered over to the coffee urn, filled his mug and went through the swinging door to go back upstairs.
