Uncle Pine saw Kyle Quinn lying on the sickbed alone, almost climbing on top of it.
He mumbled something to Sophie Quinn, and Uncle Pine wanted to check on them, but he was stopped by Renard Quinn.
Renard persuaded Uncle Pine, "Let them have some private mother-son bond, Uncle Pine. Give them some space."
Renard remembered the doctor's words about how Sophie's brain might respond to conversation.
If Kyle talks enough, maybe the stimulation would be enough.
And if so, maybe Sophie would wake up sooner.
Renard insisted on taking Uncle Pine to the rest area in the ward.
With basic facilities like a sofa and tea table, this area was for caregivers or visitors to rest and chat.
However, it was obvious that Uncle Pine had barely stayed in this area. He stayed by Sophie's side, never leaving her.
Renard sat Uncle Pine down on the sofa and told him, "Please listen to me and rest for a while."
Uncle Pine sighed, "I've been worrying for half my life. I can't let go now."
