450 Counterattack

The lighting in the corridor was dim. Olivia Taylor looked up and saw that one of the ceiling lights had been damaged, causing the brightness to decrease.

She followed the route that Renard Quinn had brought her in, listening to the sound of her high heels stepping on the floor.

There was a sharp echo in the corridor.

Though the echo was rhythmic, Olivia could detect an unusual feedback in it.

Her ears were extraordinarily sensitive, so Olivia stopped her footsteps.

The sound was cautious and careful, like a gray rat hiding from a cat, moving quickly and nimbly on the ground.

Olivia was not foolish enough to ask the other person who they were. Instead, she slowly turned her body towards the direction the sound was coming from.

Fear, dread, or evasion would not solve the problem.

Olivia chose a direct confrontation, giving the other party no time to think.

"Who are you?"
