I'm getting Married

Ethan didn't know what Liam wanted to achieve by reminding him of those facts. It was something he would very much like to avoid.  And he was doing a very good job at avoiding it until his brother had to remind him of his sore points. 

 "You don't, "Liam replied to Ethan. He knew that his brother was not like their mother or father. Ethan was the best man in his eyes. He knew that he was an asshole for saying all this but he just didn't want his big brother to regret it in future. 

This man deserved the world. Sometimes, he thought that if he was capable enough and not broken, he would have brought the world to his brother's feet. Too bad that he was good for nothing. 

Before he could say anything else, his eyes fell on Asher coming towards him with Violet, his wife. His blood boiled and under the table, he clenched his fist in order to stop himself from killing the asshole.  

"Good morning, my dear cousins. Long time no see," Asher said as he glanced at the two brothers. He gave a taunting smile to Liam and a cool look to Ethan while Violet air-kissed both of them enthusiastically.  

Ethan sighed. Another example of a bad marriage. 

The atmosphere grew tense with their arrival.  

"Oh, we weren't informed that you are renovating the estate," Violet said in an offended tone when her gaze fell on the workers renovating the west end of the Estate.  

"Selene is renovating the parts of the estate that grandfather wanted to but couldn't, "Ethan replied, coolly. He hadn't expected Violet's outburst. If she was so mad about the renovation work, why didn't she do this herself? If she was capable of taking the responsibilities, Selene wouldn't have suffered under the pressure of estate chores. 

"Why would she do this? This is not her duty. As a daughter-in-law of the family it should come in my jurisdiction, "Violet pouted as she grabbed her husband's arm and launched complaints.  

"Excuse me?" Liam scoffed. Did this woman say something about duties?  

"Did you forget Selene is just the daughter of the family? She is twenty-two. She will eventually leave the house after her marriage and the estate will belong to their rightful heir," Asher said as a matter of fact. "She has no right renovating the Westbury family's property." 

Asher didn't like the fact that his aunts' children were sitting on his inheritance like a snake coiled, waiting to bite.  

"What are you guys talking about?" Selene asked as soon as she came with a cake and snacks. She had heard from the housekeeper how Asher and Violet had arrived once again without any notice. It wasn't the first time when the couple dropped by unannounced suddenly after the death of their grandfather. She was not mad at anyone and she was not going to show it on her face even if she had heard a thing or two.  

"About you, you are overstepping your boundaries once again, "Violet huffed. She never kept her dislike for people to herself. Although she was mean, she never kept her feelings inside her heart. 

"Pardon?" Selene blinked her eyes. She was barely a step away from tearing up.  

Liam wanted to smash the teacup on Asher and the asshole's wife's head. He couldn't understand their problem with Selene. Perhaps, he did. Asher knew he could only affect these brothers by hurting Selene.  She was their weakness and they always brought him into any trouble just to tick the three brothers off every time. 

"Asher, Violet, I forgot to inform you of something, "Ethan replied with a smile.  

"What?" The couple asked at the same time.  

"That I'm getting married." 

Liam choked on air and Ethan slapped his back with a kind smile. "Brother, are you okay?"

"I don't know?" Liam said, staring at him with wide eyes. Ethan getting married means Estate belonging to him alone and Asher and Violet would keep their noses away from his property. Making estate his property means Selene wouldn't have to leave her home ever. 

As cruel as the idea of marriage sounded to Ethan, it was okay as long as she was happy.
