The Billionaire's Maid ( Last Chapter)

Melissa's pov

" Draven!" I muttered aloud as I realised who was standing by the side of the bed I was sleeping on. Ignoring the fact that Melanie will be startled; They know that I'm awake but they all think I'm yet to be fully conscious.

I jumped up from the bed, not after I removed the plaster that was used to hold the IV Fluid to my right hand.

" Melissa," Melanie called, looking at me in surprise. But I'm so happy that I didn't even bother to throw her a second look before I jumped to hug Draven. Seeing him made all my worries at that moment fade away, who would have imagined that he really survived just like his brother said.

" Calm down Melissa, remember you are in the hospital, you can't be doing this," He teased, but that doesn't make me detach my body from his, if only he knows the happiness I'm feeling right now, I'm sure he won't flinch and will allow me to hold on for a few hours before complaining.

After what seemed like an eternity, I eventually untangled my hands from his body, took a few steps towards the bed and took my seat at the edge. I can hear my stomach making a funny sound, followed by a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, but I still pretend that everything is fine. I can't just ruin this happy moment when I'm the one at fault for not eating for two days.

" Wait, Am I missing something, when did you wake up? If this is a Hollywood movie, I'm likely to believe it. Or have you been pretending? For how long?" Melanie inquired out of nowhere, she was staring at me blankly as if she has just seen a ghost.

" Can we talk about this later Mela? " I threw her a pleading look, but I guess my face was poorly disguised. Instead of her saying something, she just rolled her eyes and walked to my side to take a seat.

Draven is still on his feet, both his hands are tucked in his trouser pocket, with a smile forming on his lips.

" It's been a very long time, isn't it?" He retorted, the serenity is still there. I hummed in agreement.

" How long has it been?" I managed to say, I tilted my head to Melanie's side with the hope of getting an answer from her, but she didn't utter a word.

" You can't continue to be like this, I have my reason," I pointed out. Even with this, she didn't bother to say a word, making me more furious.

I raised my head to look at Draven, "If she won't, at least you can tell me," I grumbled, my voice laced with nothing but hope. I just don't like the way Melanie is treating me. I thought she would be happy that I'm okay, but giving me cold shoulder at this moment is not a good move. Maybe I also went too far, of all people, she was supposed to be the first person to know even though I intended to hide it from my family.....

" Melanie is the only one that has an answer to that, I'm not sure if you will remember, but I also got hurt and have been admitted since then." Draven words jolt me out of my trance.

His words were a little bit confusing, I assume that have been here for just a week, and I saw Draven two days before the incident, so why is Draven talking as if it has been a very long time? I find it strange.

"You are talking......"

" How long have you been awake? Do you know how worried I am?! Did you know your Mom was?! The last thing I expected from you is to hide the fact that you have managed to survive," The pain is obvious, not even once have I ever heard Melanie sound like this. Her painful words hurt more than the pain I'm feeling inside my stomach right now, what an ungrateful friend I am.

I cleared my throat, " I'm not sure, but I think it's been six days now," I managed to say. I watched as her eyebrows raised in surprise.

" How long have I been out?" I asked suspiciously when I noticed how she reacted to my answer.

" You have spent five weeks here," She raised her five fingers to indicate.

I gasped.

" What! I thought...."

" Don't be surprised, that's how it feels like. Just like Death, you won't know what is happening or what is going on until you are revived," Draven explained casually.

I still can't believe what I just heard, Five weeks? I find it hard to believe. Maybe I just assumed, maybe I really don't know how long it has been, just sceptic of the whole situation.

" It's nice seeing that you are awake, you made everybody worried to death,"

"I'm very sorry," I gulped down, my head still trying to digest what I just heard.

"Don't you think you are missing......."

" What of Daniel? How is he?" I mouthed out of nowhere. Draven's face turned dark immediately after I mentioned his name. I can see he was trying to hide his emotions, but it was too late because I already noticed the pain written all over his face. What's wrong? Why would he become sad because I asked about the person that saved him? Maybe I should have not, we're still enjoying the moment, did my question just spoil everything?

The truth is that I wanted to ask for Booby, but I just know if I'm mentally prepared for whatever their answer is. And come to think, not even Melanie has said anything about the person I'm pretty sure she knows I missed the most.

I abruptly stood up and strode this Front.

" What happened to Daniel?" I asked again. Draven's eyes met mine, but he looked away immediately.

He chuckled.

" Why do you care about someone who wants to kill you?" He questioned, his eyes moving frantically around the room.

" Daniel is not like that, he has no other choice," I defended.

" You know nothing," He hissed.

" Answer my question," I probed.

He inhaled slowly, " Unfortunately, he died while protecting Bobby,"

" What?!" I choked out.

" He was gunned down by his father, that's how crazy that jerk is. But I'm happy he protected you guys' lives to the very end. I'm proud of that." He forced a smile.

One heart, two feelings. My heart was shattered at the news, Daniel actually died at the end. But a part of the same heart is moving erratically at the news that Bobby is alive. I know I'm not supposed to be happy in this situation, especially when Draven is still here.

I walked to him, slowly hug him, and started to pat him on his back.

" I'm very sorry for your loss," I whispered.

Bobby, thanks for staying alive, can't wait to see you. I thought to myself.

The Billionaire's maid Epilogue.
