Chapter-5 Awakening of spirits

Ye Xu and Ye Sui after fixing their door went straight to the mountains. " What are we going to do, young master?," Ye Sui was curious.

" I am going to teach you some techniques i have come up with. Just do as i say." Ye Xu then headed straight towards the depth of the forest." Remember Sui, power may be required in the battle but it is always necessary to have a agile movement speed. Your body is full of power but it lacks speed a lot. So this month you are going to learn to master your movement speed."

"Yes, young master. I will do my best." Ye Sui was excited. This is the first time the young master had personally trained him.

They walked towards a deep forest. In the forest, there were dry leaves all over the ground. Whenever, they took a step , it would make a sound. " Stop right there and look at me carefully, Sui" Ye Xu then started running swiftly ahead. Ye Shu watched everything carefully, there was no sound at all. "Young master was moving so fast yet i could not hear any sound at all as if you were like a wind passing by."

" This is a technique where you follow the wind, match your breath with the wind and resonate your foot with the ground on each step. Try it Sui," Ye Xu looked at Ye Sui and explained.

Ye Sui kept the words of young master in mind and then felt the wind and ran towards the young master. But there was crackling of the leaves, heavy breath and it looked like a pig running towards the enemy. Ye Xu sighed. He heard some other sounds nearby. He became vigilant all of a sudden. He looked carefully to see in a distant, a rabbit eating a wild boar. The rabbit had big long ears and it turned back and looked around with its red eyes. The rabbit was alert thinking it was the enemy attack and it started to run. Ye Xu smiled. " Watch me carefully, Sui."

Ye Xu moved in an instant. The rabbit was fast but Ye Xu was faster. He caught the rabbit and killed it. "This rabbit will be a good meal. From now onward, you are responsible for catching a the pray. And remember what i told you before."

"Yes, young master." Ye Sui looked at Ye Xu with determination. Then they started moving. Ye Sui was practicing what young master had told him the whole time. Ye Xu also taught him some sheath movements and how to target the vital parts of the beasts. Ye Xu himself was adapting to his body and the techniques that he used when he was a master assassin. Ye Xu was proficient in all kinds of martial arts from earth and jujitsu was the first thing he taught Ye Sui.Then he started teaching Ye Sui other martial arts that he knew. Ye Sui was a fast learner and he would adapt to any technique faster.

Time went by and a month passed. Ye Xu was chasing a Tier-2 flame tiger. The tiger was running in panic and suddenly a body came from top and caught him. It was Ye Sui. The tiger didn't even realize someone was there. Tier-2 beasts are equivalent to initial Rock-Tier human martial artists and their senses are very sharp but it was no use against Ye Sui. Ye Sui the twisted the neck and killed the beast. " Well done Sui, that was good. But are a little slow, you made me chase a little longer." Ye Xu praised.

"Sorry young master, next time i will be faster." Ye Sui was more determined."The awakening ceremony is coming soon, young master. We should get going now."

"Yes, lets go." They both returned back. When they were returning, a wild rabbit nearby didn't even seem to notice them passing away. Then they returned to their home.

After a few days, it was the grand event of the year. The city lord would host an awakening ceremony on the large hall. A special envoy from the Shenxi Mainland would come that day for the awakening. Only Martial Warrior with mountain-tier had enough power to help in the awakening. The more the awakening, the more benefits Jade city would get from the mainland. So, the city lord was very excited this day. Last year, only 4 people had awakened and it was an average results. But this time, his precious daughter was also awakening, so he had more hope. The awakened ones would also be eligible to enter the academy in the Shenxi Mainland.

The Hall of awakening, Jade City

In the early morning, many people were gathering, with their children who turned 16 this year. There were also few who were 17 and 18 years old. 16 was the perfect age of awakening and later age, it would be almost impossible to awaken. But they still wanted to give it a try. This time there were as many as 200 children to participate. Ye Xu and Ye Sui were also present. There was a huge altar in the hall. "Today is the day of the awakening. Our special envoy sir has come from the mainland to help with the awakening and the awakened ones will be eligible to study on one of the academy in the Shenxi mainland. The first person came to the altar. He was shaking a little. The envoy looked at him and touched his forehead. He then chanted something and suddenly the boy closed his eyes. In the alter, a star slowly emerged and light shone on the body of the boy. Few moments later, a spirit of a tiger was seen above his head. It looked fierce and it had a half white halo around it. That was his spirit.

"A low level spirit- barely eligible for the academy,"a cold voice of the envoy came.The boy was happy. He was awakened. Slowly others turn came. Sadly, there were only few who awakened. Almost all of them had been tested but only 4 were awakened. All of them awakened low level spirits. Ye Xu and Ye Sui was looking at it with excitement from behind. They were the last ones left.

" Young master, you go ahead," Ye Sui said. "Alright." Ye Xu was looking forward to it. He walked towards the altar. He looked at the envoy. The envoy looked at him too. The envoy felt a hint of danger coming from the boy. He was surprised. How can this non hairy brat give him that feeling. Ye Xu also felt the pressure coming from the envoy. The envoy was the strongest person he had seen in this world till now. Suddenly a soft voice came.

" Let me try first, envoy sir." a young girl spoke. She looked at Ye Xu. She remembered him at the first floor when he was reading all the books.

"Sure, let's see what the daughter of the city lord has for us," the envoy said. The people around were suprised. It was the city lord's daughter. She had a delicate face and a beautiful smile. Ye Xu also felt she was beautiful but he had seen much more in his previous life so he didn't care much.

She walked into the altar and the envoy chanted something on her forehead. She closed her eyes. Then suddenly 1 star came very fast around her, then came the second and the third. It didn't stop until the 10th star surrounded her. The envoy was shocked. This a a talent. A great talent. It has the potential to reach the star-tier, a tier above him. He became excited. After a few moments she opened her eyes and a blue-eyed eagle spirit hovered above her head. It looked down at everything like it was the king. It had a bright green halo around it.

"A blue-eyed eagle, high grade spirit-Congratulations to the city lord. She is eligible to be in the inner courtyard. I will take her personally." the envoy was excited. The spirit was far better than his and the future achievements would be extraordinary. How could he miss this chance to be on her good side.

Ye Xu was also surprised. That spirit looked powerful enough. The girl looked at Ye Xu and smiled. Ye Xu was unaware of that because it was his turn now. He headed to the altar. The envoy looked at him for a moment and then touched his forehead. He chanted a mantra. Then Ye Xu felt like his soul was sucked into something. He looked around. It was as if he was standing on a space. He looked around and there seems to be stars everywhere. One star came near him. Outside the envoy was feeling a strange sensation from the boy. A star was just surrounding Ye Xu when it suddenly vanished. Ye Sui was alert. What happened to young master. Why did the star leave?

In the space, Ye Xu was the most surprised because that star when it came near him, it seems to have sensed something and it went away. Not cause Ye Xu had no talent but it seems to be fearful of his soul. Then other stars started coming but when they got near they did the same and got away. Ye Xu was stunned. Hundreds of thousands stars tried to reach him just to run away. He thought if it goes like this he cannot even be awakened. But suddenly, a strange scene happened. A dark red star came from afar.All the millions of stars that got away were being sucked by it along the way. It devoured all the stars there was and slowly came near him. The star was dark red and it gave him an evil presence but he felt closeness with it and the star seems to acknowledge him. He then touched the star and he was in a new place again. This should be the place where he would choose the spirits. There was supposed to be thousands of spirits to choose from as far as others said but in front of him was just three spirits and all of the three had a bright golden halo around them.
