Chapter-4 Learning all about this world
" Are we going to the mountains, young master?," Ye Sui asked.
"Yes, but first let's find some books. I need to learn something."Ye Xu then went straight to the city hall. City hall has a big library where young people can pay gold to study or take the books. There are books related to martial arts, weapons, mainland and all. But ordinary people are only allowed to go to the first floor which consists of basic books with just some few general ideas. The second floor and the third floor has martial arts and other such books that is only allowed for people selected by the city lord. Still many people come to the first floor to have general understanding of many things.
Ye Xu and Ye Sui went inside by paying 1 gold each. Others looked at them in distain by the way they dressed. Ye Xu was not bothered by it. He was also a scholar in earth so he was interested in learning things especially about the elemental power that the pavilion master talked about. He looked around and started reading. He got immersed in reading. Ye Sui would just sit beside him and he eventually got bored and slept. People were laughing at their duo. But Ye Xu was fully focused on learning.A whole day went by and Ye Xu understood a lot about this world.
Basically every person has a chance to be awakened when they are 16 years of age. During awakening, if they are chosen by the stars, they will be blessed with respective spirits. The stars are of infinite possibilities. When chosen by the stars, they have the chance to select the most suitable spirits for themselves. The types of spirits may vary upon the stars. It is said that, the more number of stars that choose them ,the more powerful the spirits they can obtain. The least stars would be 1 and normally people are chosen by a single star. Few people are chosen by 2 or more. And if one has been chosen by more than 10 stars, they are said to have limitless future. The spirits consists of beasts, weapons, elements and many others unknowns. The least powerful spirit blessed by 1 star has a small white halo surrounding it, the halo intensity increases with the number of stars. The spirits blessed by 1-3 stars are white, 4-6 stars are orange, 7-9 stars are yellow, 9-18 stars are green, 18-36 stars are blue, beyond 36 stars are red. The war god Ran Tin, king of Central Continent, is said to be chosen with the highest number of stars that is 72 and his spirit was a hellfire dragon. He is respected by all and he is the one to make central continent far way stronger and prosperous than any other continents. Every martial artist have a dream to enter the central continent.
When the spirits is chosen by the people, they can start absorbing the power of the world through the spirits. The spirits are said to live on the heart of the people. Through it, the natural energy is transferred all over the body. The better the quality of the spirits ,the more useful they will be. After absorbing the natural energy, depending upon the bloodline and the types of body, the power inside them starts to grow. The first phase is Stone-Tier where people will be able to break stone easily. It is divided into initial, half and complete level. When they real the initial stone-tier, their body emits light halo similar to spirits when they use their power. Stone- tier has white halo and when the white halo is completed, it needs the spirit to absorb the essence of the stars to advance to Rock-tier having orange halo. The white halo spirits cultivation is limited to Stone-tier , orange halo is limited to Rock- tier and so on.The more quality spirits, the more martial artist can advance. After rock -tier comes mountain-tier with Yellow-halo where martial warrior has the strength to destroy a mountain. Then comes Sky-tier with green halo where warrior can fly in the sky. Sky-tier leads to breaking the sky and the legendary star- baptism where the spirits are connected to the stars and the martial artists will have to face a heavenly tribulation. It is rumored that only Ran Tin, the god of war was the first person to cross the tribulation to reach the legendary star tier. The kings of five continents are said to have reached the legendary star tier.
All these are called Martial warriors. Then comes the Martial Rulers. They have the blessing of the world's element and during the awakening few rare people are chosen by the elements of the spirits. The elements may be fire, water, darkness and such. All elements have their own respective strengths and such people have power above the same rank martial warriors. The higher the quality of spirits, the more powerful the element affinity can be.
For weapon forger and alchemist, Martial Ruler is required to advance from basic to element tier. Then they can use the elements to inscribe on the weapons or pills. After the element-tier, when Martial Rulers are able to somehow utilize some star powers, they can use it to advance to the Star-tier. Star-tier forgers and alchemist are the rarest and it is believe there are few grandmasters above the star-tier rank in the central continent.
Ye Xu was super excited. This world is more amazing than he thought. It seems the possibilities are endless. He is excited to see what kind of spirit he will awaken in upcoming ceremony. He called out the sleeping Ye Sui and they went towards the mountain. Ye Xu taught Ye Sui everything he learned and Ye Sui also became very serious about growing powerful to protect young master.
Ye Xu did not notice that a young girl similar age to theirs was looking at them curiously. She was surprised to see Ye Xu turning and studying almost half of the books present there. She wondered if he was just turning the pages or he actually managed to study it all. Then she slowly walked towards the second floor.
