Bewildered

"My name is Snow Atkins by the way" she says to me with a smile and holding out her hand. "Rayne Williams" I replay confirming her hand shake.

When I grab her hand I feel a warmth like I have never felt before. Energy pulses out between us like something out of my webtoon. "What the hell is happening, what is this light" I yell in a panicked tone. "I knee you were my destined one. I could feel it when I first layed eyes on you" she says with a heartfelt feeling. "What are you talking about" I shout. "I will explain everything in a moment, just let me lock the door first".

The light dies down slowly as she walks over to the door. I can see some kind of invisible blue tether that attaches her and I together. It pulses with warmth that makes my fears disappear. I get the feeling that no matter what happens, this is where im supposed to be. As crazy as that sounds, I know from the bottom of my heart that I can trust Snow with my life even though I met her only 20 minutes ago.

"Everything I am about to tell you may seem strange and made up but I promise you it isn't". I nod a long as I watch her walk back over to me with haste. "My world is in peril. Even as we speak it is being ransacked by monsters of all shapes and sizes. We princesses were tasked with visiting other worlds to find our destined partner to defeat this evil". She says all of this with both ferocity and sadness which makes my heart skip a beat. "I came to your world about 6 months ago with nothing more than a cart full of gold bars which I immediately found my way to a place where I could convert it to your currency. Turns out it was a great amount of wealth here. Enough for me to start a small business which took me two weeks to research. I needed something to draw in crowds as traversing this world was not efficient for me at all".

As she is saying all of this to me I realized that this was what I was seeking. A way to release myself from my stagnant routine. Once she finished her speech I simply looked up at her standing and smiled and said "when do we leave?"

She looked at me with a gleam of both concern and hope. "I am very happy to hear you say that, but there are a few more final details you need to understand which I will go over once were back in my world". She grabs and holds both my hands and I can see that we're both blushing when she does so. "Once we leave here, time in your world will continue but you will be returned to this place in time if you succeed". If I succeed she says. Thats not reaffirming at all.

In a flash of light similar to before, I close my eyes only to hear her say that we've arrived. When I open my eyes we're in a open field on top of a hill looking down at a massive kingdom.

"Welcome to my world, Historia. This is the Kingdom of Arrtoria, my Kingdom. I am Princess Snow Arr Toria and you are both my Knight Apex and as the rules state, also my fiance".

I look at her with wide open eyes and whisper "fiance?".
