Thirty Two

Trisha got back home mentally and physically drained.

Having sat in the car, finally having alone time, Trisha thought about the next line of action.

But even if she wanted to take those steps, it wasn't something that she could do alone, she had to involve her mother.

Getting back to Elle's house where they temporarily stayed, she walked in, sighing, wondering if the debate in her head would ever stop.

"Should I tell her? Should I not tell her? What if I sell it? Will she know eventually? Would my actions hurt her!?"

Trisha's POV

To be very frank, this was getting too much, it was all too disturbing, yet I had to do it. If I wanted us to bounce back, I had to do it.

I'm going to sell it, and mom is going to approve and then we'll move out and then we'll bounce back.

I repeated those words like a mantra in my head. As if repeatedly saying it could increase the chances of it actually happening.

I don't know…

I didn't even feel like going back home.

'Since nobody has seen me yet and I didn't announce my arrival, should I maybe go back and come home later. I'll turn off my phone so I don't get their calls!', I thought, a small smile on my face as my foot steps came to a halt.

I was just about to turn around when Giselle came out of nowhere announcing my arrival.

"Guys, Trisha's home!!", She yelled, calling the attention of the whole house.

I swear that woman has the loudest voice known to man.

"Ohhh where is she?!",I suddenly heard Austin's voice as Giselle came Forward to wrap me in one of her comforting hugs.

That woman…

She must have sensed I needed it.

When she pulled from the hug, she kissed my forehead, leading me to the dining area,

"We were just about to have dinner!", She said.

But I knew they were lying, dinner was an hour ago, and they waited for me. To be honest, that thought made me feel bad.

However, the thought of leaving evaporated in an instant.

When she successfully dragged me to the dining area, I hugged everyone, my own way of saying thank you for waiting up for me.

When dinner was over, I went to my mom's room, without changing or any of the sorts. It was just that important.

She needed to know my decision.

"Hi mom!", I said with a smile as I got in.

"Hi baby, how was your day?!", She asked, wrapping me in a hug.

"It was okay!",

"Why did you come home late?!", She asked, obviously worried. How did I know I wasn't going to escape this? Ahhh, because she's my mother.

"It was nothing, I just had to do a few more things at the office. I was promoted… remember!"

"Ohh true true. You should go to bed now, Giselle dragged me all around the mall today. I swear to God she is relentless!", She said.

"Well, I will, there's just something I should tell you about!"

"What's that sweetie, is anything wrong?", She asked her eyes wide and her tone laced with worry.

"It's nothing actually, it's just that I decided to sell the house. You know the one we used to live in!"

She didn't say anything for a while as she just looked in the distance, I was starting to think that she wouldn't agree to it.

"I've been thinking about it for a while myself, but I didn't know how to tell you! Let's sell it, and then use the money to buy a smaller space. Even if Giselle and her husband doesn't say it, I want us to leave, I really don't want to be a bother!", She said.

I felt each and every one of her words. There and then, I promised myself that I really had to bounce back, not just for me, but for mom too.

She's been through so much already!

"Alright then, I'll sell it and tell you how everything goes. Don't worry, I know you like spaces to farm. I'll look out for that too!"

We made small talk before I left her room and headed to mine. I was actually tired and I thought I was going to bed straight away, but I wasn't so surprised to see Austin and Elle.

I knew they were going to ambush me, I just didn't know when!

"Why am I not surprised to see both of you here!", I said, making my way between both of them to sit and wrap them in hugs.

Even if I didn't want to tell anybody I had gone to Collin's place, well except for Elle, who gave me the address, I had to come clean about my conversation with him.

They were eager to listen, and they didn't judge me when I said I felt used, they never did.

I told them about my decision to sell the house, the one where the three of us usually had our "meetings" when we were younger.

Sure, the house signified a lot, it still doesn't mean I was going to let my mother feel like she was a bother.

They understood my decision, and talked to me about their day.

Austin had no plans of leaving till he was going to go abroad, which I didn't know when.

He promised to visit a lot with Elle when we move out of Elle's place.

He did want to intervene, but I wanted to do everything I planned on my own, and he understood.

Especially stripping Dave of every cent he had stolen from our family.

They left and I finally showered before going to bed. Well, that didn't mean I didn't talk to some people, I needed to sell the house, and how would I sell it if it wasn't for sale!?
