Katherine The New Mother. Friendships Strained. Surprises.

Caroline Forbes spent the next week trying to help Bonnie. She hadn't gotten out of bed for the time.

"You know, Bonnie." Caroline told her, "You should go somewhere…..Travel, as long as you stay here, you'll miss Enzo much more."

Bonnie sat up.

"Where will I go?" She asked, glumly.

"Anywhere you want." Caroline said brightly. "Paris….You always wanted to go to Paris!"

"I can't….!" Bonnie told her, "I don't have much money."

She told Caroline.

"Bonnie, use the money my mother left for me!" She took Bonnie's hand. "And go….Have fun."

"How can I do that?" Bonnie looked horrified. "I can't take the money! It's yours."

Caroline shook her head,

"Why not?" Caroline demanded, "I am going to New Orleans in a week. For good. I'll put up my house for rent."

She told Bonnie,

"And you can do the same while you are gone." Caroline explained the whole plan.

"That way you'll have money in reserve when you come back!"

Bonnie smiled, Caroline had a plan for everything.

"Okay...Okay!" Bonnie sat up straighter. "I'll do it!"

"Good!" Caroline told her. "And you don't need to do anything!"

She jumped up,

"I'll go get you some new clothes, make a list of things you want!" Caroline was excited, planning something was the best of everything. "Buy you a plane ticket and call the hotels and book you a room!"

Bonnie smiled at her enthusiasm. Everything about Caroline was infectious.

If she was happy, you would be happy.

If she was sad, you would feel her pain.

If she was laughing, you would laugh with her.

If she would cry, you would shed tears with her.

Caroline was satisfied when she put Bonnie Bennett on a plane to Paris, or as she liked to call it, the plane ride to recovery.

She was fixing things one by one as she wanted to get back to New Orleans. She couldn't leave till everything was fixed.

Damon Salvatore came inside the house, he had just received a long lecture from Caroline who told him to lay off Katherine because she was having a hard time. For the sake of Stefan, and the fact that if he didn't agree with her, she would have kept him for another hour, so he agreed.

He saw Katherine holding Zach in her arms, moving around. He wouldn't stop crying.

"Having a nice day, Katherine?" He said mockingly.

"What do you think?" She looked at him, "Look at my hair, he won't stop crying, I am a mess….tired and sleepy...Can't you just compel him to stop crying!?"

Damon looked shocked.

"What the hell is the matter with you?" He almost screamed. " Compel him!" He shook his head as he remembered Caroline's lecture, and decided to throw her under the bus. "Fine..I'll call Caroline to help you!"

She fell on the couch, and groaned.

"Uhhgg, Caroline…"

"Listen to me, Katherine!" He came near her, "Caroline is willing to help you, despite the fact you killed her. Everyone hates you here!"

Damon spoke the truth, "No one is willing to help you….Because no one cares! But Caroline, she'll come running to see her nephew. Because she cares!"

He growled at Katherine.

"I can't believe that she was giving me a lecture to help you earlier!" Damon scoffed, "You need her, and you'll take it, and be grateful…..Because Caroline is the best you will ever find in the world!"

Katherine couldn't believe how much he was complimenting Caroline. If they didn't know each other, she wouldn't know that he would kill her if she ever mentioned it to Caroline, he would kill her with his bare hands.

"So, I suggest you keep all the bullshit to yourself!" Damon put the baby in the crib, and took out his phone. "And take the help you can get!"

Katherine was speechless.

After twenty minutes, Caroline Forbes entered the house.

"Hello….!" She shouted as she came in, "Damon." She smiled, "Where is Stefan?"

"Something to do with toys." Damon told her.

She laughed.

"So, how are my services needed?" Caroline asked.

"Could you just help her?" Damon told her.

Caroline smiled, and came towards the crib, she took out the crying baby from the crib.

"It's okay, sweetie." She picked him up. "It's okay...my little boy!"

She danced around with him. He was silent. He giggled softly.

"See, he loves her!" Damon snickered at Katherine.

Zach pouted,

"Hush little vampire, don't say a word." Caroline started to sing, "Daddy gonna bite the head of a bird."

Damon laughed,

"He can't do that anymore!" Damon laughed, "But it used to be true…"

He tapped the baby's nose and disappeared from the door.

He was dealing with something harsh. His brother was human. So was Elena. And the last of the cure was taken by none other than his brother. Forced by his best friend.

Caroline felt as if she was being dragged in different directions.

Bonnie needed her, so did Elena, so did Stefan...…...even Katherine. Even Zach Lorenzo Salvatore. But they couldn't even be in the same room together.

"It's okay, sweetie!" Caroline was talking to her nephew. "It's okay..!"

Katherine was standing behind the couch, and suddenly she fainted.

"Katherine?" Caroline shouted.

She put the baby in the crib and towards her. She checked her wrist. She was breathing.

"Stefan! Damon!" Caroline shouted.

Damon Salvatore came inside the room.

"What happened?"

"Call Stefan." She shouted, "Now!"

Damon Salvatore took out his phone, and was dialing his brother.

Damon looked in the crib, Zach cut his arm on the wooden splinter of the crib.

"Caroline?" He shouted, "Look at this!"

"What?" Caroline shouted back, exasperatedly.

They never cared about Katherine, but she was a mom now, Caroline cared about Zach, and him only. Setting aside what his mom had done to her in the past. She was his aunt, and his Godmother.

She was needed here, despite the fact Klaus was calling her to New Orleans, and she really wanted to go.
