Chapter 8: End of A Saga

I walk up to Gwen and start talking, "Gwen… how? I saw Charmcaster kill you, right in front of me."

She responds, "Ben is that you, you look so different. What happened to you… I'm sorry, it's all my fault."

"I don't understand, how is this possible."

"The day the Omnitrix blew up except it didn't, because I stopped you from blowing it up by traveling back in time to stop Kevin from being mutated by it. Let's talk later. For now, we need to go, they're coming."

The door in front of us suddenly explodes and Charmcaster walks in with a bunch of rock monsters. I spring into action instantly. I cover my fists in a layer of Diamondhead's crystals and run up to the rock monsters. One of them tries to punch me, but I block it and strike him with my coated fist, destroying him. I do the same to the other rock monsters and destroy them all.

'This only leaves Charmcaster. I won't underestimate her, and I'll go for the kill.' I then transform into XLR8 and make my arms into Chromastone's. I rush at her and get to her barrier. I then place my hands on her barrier causing it to turn into a rainbow color and disappear. Without giving her a chance to realize what I've done; I coat my arm with Diamondhead's crystals and make a sword with it. I then rush towards her and stab her directly in the heart, killing her.

Gwen suddenly shrieks with tears falling out of her eyes, "Ben how could you…you killed her…"

"HOW?? I'll tell you how I could. They killed you, mom, dad, Grandpa Max, Alan, Pierce, Manny, Helen, many innocent people and plumbers, and they also killed Kevin and are now using his body as a rock monster. I will not hesitate to kill them when I get the chance. They captured me and tortured me for 2 years…2 WHOLE YEARS of me dying and getting healed back, suffering through while wishing for death but still denied it because of this damned watch.

I became numb to EVERYTHING including DEATH. Do you know how fucked up I am now, to be like this…well of course not, no one does… I hope no one ever will… Anyways, I honestly still don't understand how you're here…. You mentioned time travel but save it until I kill Hex."

"Ben, I honestly can't imagine what you've been through and I'm sorry, but this is wrong…it isn't who you are."

"Yeah right, as if we haven't dealt with death before but as kids, we chalked it up to accidents and stupidity. Anyways, Hex first and then we'll talk about everything."

I position myself next to the hole made by Gwen when she broke through to me, I transform into Jetray and fly up. As I reach the top, I see Hex standing there reading out of a book. He says, "So she freed you, didn't she? So what, defeating you is but a mundane task for me. You shall lose as you did before. A forgotten hero, that's all you are. Your disobedience is a sad little saga that I'm about to end."

"Is that so Hex, let's just let our actions speak for themselves." I transform and proceed to try the same combination on him that I used on his niece, but he is stronger than her and stops my sword before it can reach him.

I then transform into Humangousaur, cover myself with a layer of crystals, and make my palms Chromastone's to break through his barrier. With this combination, he stood no chance. I punched through his barrier and my fist broke through his cane and landed straight on his head, flattening it to the ground, and causing his death.

"It's over…" Gwen then walks up to his corpse and picks up the book. She says as she's crying, "I'll fix everything, I'll make it all right…"
