Chapter 1 Beginning

3 winters had passed since he came here.

Now he was called Halfdan Magnusson. He could remember his former name and family but that has only remained as a memory in his brain.

" Halfdan!"

Hearing the loud voice of his mother returned his senses back to normal as he put down his quills and he raised his head.

His golden hair drafted between his eyes as he gazed at his mother who was standing there with a helpless face.

" Halfdan, why don't you play with others instead of learning? People are going to think you are weird. Look at you! Come and eat."

She took out goat cheese and rough bread from her bosom while handing it to him with a gentle face. Despite being in medieval times, his mother was as beautiful as a modern woman. She had bright blonde hair, blue eyes, beautiful face with the strong body of a Norse woman.

Although Halfdan didn't know which age he was living in, he knew this planet had a similar society to Earth's. There was east and west. The East was so far that he only heard legends about Eastern people while the west was divided into many kingdoms by the words of the elders.

Obviously, his father was Jarn which meant he was one of the leaders of the entire Viking people and he was feared among neighboring people due to his immense power as a warrior.

" Mother, I am writing the words that I learned from the elders yesterday."

Halfdan showed a simple writing on the ground as he looked at his mother with expectations. Perhaps after living for so long time, he was yearning to be loved by his parents once again.

" Oh my! My boy is such a clever son. Look at this. You have written well like the elders."

Freyja was genuinely surprised by the neat writing of her son. The line and the shapes were perfectly combined and he didn't even try that many times by the look of it.

" I will eat and learn well to become a great man like father."

Halfdan felt blissful when he was praised by his mother as his heart turned warm. During these 3 years, he accepted them as his parents and he truly loved this small settlement.

" As expected from my son. Come, let's clean you up and head back home before the sun sets."

She extended her hand to grab his tiny hand while heading toward their home before the sunset.

" Un."

Halfdan nodded sheepishly with a big smile, thinking he would be able to help them soon. He was sure his physical body had great potential and his mind was influenced by his former life.

More importantly, something that was special was in his mind and that was the chip that enhanced human brain functions. Although it was a prototype, it had important functions like enhancing memory ability and hastening thought processes.

Freyja and Halfdan entered the house with a small chattering while a big man greeted them with a hug. He picked up Halfdan and placed him on his lap to talk with him.

" What did you do today, son?"

Magnus asked with a grin, knowing his son was a special child. Unlike other kids who played in the mud, his son had both tendencies of the nobles of the West and Vikings. He was an unusually clever, sharp, and brave boy to his eyes which made him his eye apple.

" Nothing much, Father. I have been learning to write. Soon I will be able to write like the elders."

Hearing his words made Magnus feel proud because he was confident that his son would become bigger than him. He could swear with his proud beard and Odin's beard.

" Good, haha! What about sword or archery?"

He inquired even more to hear his son's talent.

" Not yet, father. I will become the greatest warrior but I am still small."

Magnus nodded with satisfaction when he heard his words. It was indeed true that he was just 3-year-old boy who knew nothing. However, he also was 3 years old and couldn't speak freely like him, move like him, and think like him because he was his firstborn.
