Sinned

"Mom, who are they?" Asher points his finger to Adair and Felix which makes him caught their attention. I smiled at Asher and then replied. "She," I glanced at Adair but I was confused when I saw fear and panic but at the same time joy at her eyes. "She is your Tita Adair, she's my best friend." Adair smiled at him making Asher's cheeks flushed. He also seems captured with Adair's beauty. While him- "I look at Felix but I was confused when I saw him giving Adair a deathly glare. " He's also my bestfr- husband. He's my husband. "

Asher pouted. "But I don't want to have other fathers. I already have many fathers here. Father Nathan is a good father and I am happy that you are my mother."

I gave Felix an apologetic smile. My son is too honest to the point that he can hurt other's feelings.

"Talk to your kid, I'll just talk to Adair for a few minutes." Felix left immediately while grabbing Adair's arm but what makes me laugh is when Adair pinched Felix's arm then bite it. The people immediately parted as the two passed by. Gosh, that preggy woman. I turned to Asher and then lifted him to carry him. I kissed his two brown eyes. "Come on, I'll buy you a lot of milk." Asher's eyes shone which makes me laugh. He's too cute and adorable.

We both drank our own milk while lying on the bermudagrass here inside the so-called haunted park.

"Did you know that this park is haunted?"

"Yes."

I looked at him curiously. "Then why don't you seem scared?"

"Because Father Nathan always takes me here. But even though I am here almost every week I still haven't seen any ghost here. So does Father. He said that instead of seeing a ghost, he saw an angel."

I smiled at what he said. "Does he often talk about that angel?" I hoped that he would say yes but I failed. He shook his head.

"Hmmm no, but he said," I loved an angel and that angel loved me too but ... she is destined to be in heaven, to be above. No matter how hard we tried to align our worlds we will always end up staring at each other from a distance. Our worlds will always bring us back to where we belong. She is in heaven and I am here ... on land. "

What he said silenced me. "The story of the angel and the man...is heartbreaking."

"But mom, do you know what's more heartbreaking? What's more heartbreaking is that they made a promise to each other but they both failed to do it..."

Tears forms in the corners of my eyes as I remember when is the last time I was reminded about that promise. About our promise to each other.

~Flashback~

"You'll still marry me so please...baby fight" he sobbed as he said the last sentence before I lose my consciousness. "Prove to me that you won't break your promises...I love you"

When I had an accident.

"They both failed to marry each other."

Fortunately, Asher and I are both looking at the sky so he could not see my tears dripping as I listened to the promise me and Nathan failed to fulfill.

"I really want to ask Father if they are still seeing each other but I am afraid to see his eyes covered with sadness again. He is sad every time he remembers the angel but at the same time, he is also happy. Love is ironic"

I smiled at how mature he thinks. "That's why I don't adopt you. Because he needs a new angel who is always there for him and who will always make him happy. Do you know what Father Nathan's full name is?"

He nodded. "Lemuel Nathan Santiago."

I smiled while still looking at the sky. "His name, Lemuel means devoted to God while you're name, Seraphim means an angel standing in the presence of God. Can my angel take care of his father?"

Asher smiled sweetly at me. "The new angel will take care of his Father."

I breathed a sigh of relief. I do not have to worry anymore that no one will take care of him because he has the son of the angel girl he loves.

Nathan's POV

I immediately punched myself as soon as Angelie came out of the confession room. Even if I act that my advice to her is what is right and what a priest should say. I still know to myself that what I said is what I want her to do.

I approached my fellow priest. "Father please punch me." He looked at me confused while trying his best to stifle his laughter. "Father, your voice is hoarse?" I nodded. He approached me and whispered, "Father, as much as I want to punch you, we are in a church." He chuckled as he left.

I disheveled my hair when I remembered what had happened earlier.

~Flashback~

I am currently in the confession room while waiting for the penitent.

"Bless me, Father, for I have sinned." My eyes widened when I heard the penitent's voice. I straightened my posture to look presentable even though I know that she can't see me. I would like to see her but I know that it is forbidden.

"It has been just weeks since my last confession but even so, I already committed a serious sin. It's--." I heard her sniff as if suppressing her tears. I want to go to her and hug her but I don't want her to taint herself with sins. I am a priest while she is a married woman.

"It's my fault so my Dad is in the hospital now. I almost killed him. My parents want to have grandchildren-" I gasped out of disbelief. They have gotten too far!

"-But I refused because I do not love my husband. I refused." I secretly smiled at what she said. I immediately realized what I was doing. Bless me God for I have sinned, I thought to myself.

'Maybe that's the reason why Dad had a heart attack. If I only knew that my stubbornness would result in this mess then I would have just agreed." I took a deep breath to calm myself. They're controlling

her life again.

"I know you are wondering why did I marry him if I do not love him. I'm sorry. My parents asked me to marry him so that our company would not go bankrupt. But ..." I was right. Her parents are treating her like a puppet again, controlling her life to benefit theirs.

"That is not my worst sin yet. My worst was when I fell for a priest and I came to the point where I almost stopped him from treading the best path." I fell silent after what she said sinks into me. You should have stopped me ...

"Father, can I ask for advice?"
