Charizard I Choose You

"What's going on, why are there no demon beasts around?"

[That's because of the dragon's aura. Most demon beasts stay clear from dragons.]

"Is this the benefit you said i would get from taking him with us?"

"What other benefit can i gain when his aura prevents me from grinding xp?"

"Wow, so which skill is that."

"Urrr another expensive skill. Buy it."

Hearing the system, I felt a special connection with my shadow. Activating the skill I felt my shadow expand though nothing changed physically. After ten minutes it was completed. Activating it again my shadow trembled a little, seeing this I jumped in with Derek and the dragon.

On the other side of the portal was..... still the same place they where before except in black and white. "Wow it really feels like the real world." I said while looking around. Then he got a crazy idea, leaving Derek and the baby dragon I returned to the real world then ran searching for something.

What I was looking for was a group of demon beasts me and Derek stumbled across some days back but had to avoid due to not being able to deal with them. An ant hill belonging to a type of demon beast half my size called Copper Ants. Not being able to inflict much damage on even the workers we ran away, now I was heading to their location.

On getting there I first attacked the hill so as to attract the ant soldiers guarding the hill. Seeing them rush towards me, I activated his new technique while saying "Charizard i chose you" then summoning the baby dragon who on appearing from my shadow gave a loud roar.

"Charizard use Dragon Breathe" I commanded to which the baby dragon let out a breath of fire at the charging ants. The ants that where not affected froze from the dragons aura. Also summoning Derek, I told him to tell the dragon to command the Ant Queen residing in the hill to come out. To which after some minutes an ant 10 times the size of the soldier ants which had the appearance of a worm crawled out and stopped in front of the baby dragon.

Seeing this, I activated my shadow realm skill then ordered the ant queen into it. Still scared the Ant Queen hesitantly moved towards it.

While crawling towards the portal I noticed the ant queen was black different from the other reddish brown ants. Checking its description it was Copper Ant Queen (Evolving). To which he asked the system while stopping the ant queen.

[It means what it says, it's evolving.]

"I get that but during mine i couldn't move until it was done and it was a fast process."

[That's because it's of a different specie. Insects go through different stages when evolving into another sub-specie. And it is mostly triggered by external factors, like in this case a metal.]

"A metal?"

[Yes a metal with better properties than in this case copper.]

"Oh." I said before turning to Derek requesting him to ask about the metal from the Ant Queen.

[You seriously need to go through the information again.]

"Urgg" I grumbled.

After a minute of communication between Derek and the ant I learnt that the ants found a small rock made of a black metal while expanding their colony. Apart from that they dug some more but found no other present, so the queen kept it by her side after not being able to eat it. After some days a small piece of it fell which she ate resulting in her present state.

Hearing this Mark order for the rock to be brought out. After some minutes through the expanded entrance of the ant hill some copper ants brought out the rock and placed it in front of me.

Using God's eye to find out that it was not just any metal ore that he expected but.... an ore used to make Damascus steel. This gave me a shock because back on earth it is a very rare metal, I didn't expect it to also exist in this world.

[Don't use your previous world's knowledge to gauge this world. Here almost everything is possible.]

"For real? I'm looking forward to finding what else exist in this world." I said expectantly.

[Stop indulging in your wild fantasies and try absorbing it.]

Hearing the system, I first urged the ants through my shadow with the baby dragon suppressing them then I followed them in with the armor. After assigning an area to the ants I then stood in front of the rock with Derek.

"Didn't you say we gain what the other gains?" I asked

[Skills, memories and information, yes. But anything physical? No.]

After the systems reply we both closed our eyes to concentrate and try to absorb the ore into our body. After half an hour a reaction finally occurred causing part of the ore to gradually break down and flow towards us then entering our body.

The whole process took more than an hour leaving iron and stone residues from the rock showing that it wasn't entirely made of Damascus steel. Checking my stats to see the changes made, my strength, defense and vitality had a boost in value. With this I was close to being able to protect myself in the upcoming battle. But I still had to make some preparations.
