Chapter 8: Giving You a Big Fish to Eat

Sally slowly tore into a strip of air-dried jerky she had taken from the System Space, eating it bit by bit. If she had known this would happen, she would have plundered the Oro Family's entire warehouse.

Now, all that was left in the space was a few hard strips of jerky and a bucket of water.

It was truly an oversight; she would definitely remember to stock up more supplies in the future.

A day quickly passed.

Sally waited the whole time.

In the blink of an eye, another five days went by.

Lin Lang still hadn't returned.

Her belly was getting bigger and bigger, and the dried meat in the System Space was all eaten, the water all gone.

"Food exhausted, water depleted, I need to find food. It seems we were destined to part ways," Sally sighed and climbed down from the tree.

She ran towards the depths of the Beast Forest.

Sunset turned to moonrise, moonset ushered in the sunrise.

Sally emerged from a newly dug rat hole.

Having had a good sleep, she stretched and transformed back into human form.

Wrapped in leaves, her long snow-white hair cascaded down her back. Her protruding belly indicated that she was now in the late stage of pregnancy.

Suddenly, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end.

On guard, she instantly transformed back into a little white mouse, though her bulging belly made it very inconvenient to move.

A black panther with its entire body glistening darkly, walked slowly over to where Sally was.

Looking at her trembling body, it bent down, gently picked her up in its mouth, and slowly continued further into the Beast Forest.

Sally dared not move at all, her head spinning with dizziness, it, it, it... it wasn't going to suddenly bite down hard and kill her, was it!

[Oh my gosh, System big sister?]

There was no response from the System.

Sally continued: [Oh great and beautiful Miss Universe System.]

[What's the matter?] the System responded.

Sally: "..."

[Can you save me, use Teleport just this once!]

[Neither the host nor the fetus is in any life-threatening danger, no need for Teleport.]

[Huh? I'm in this state and you say there's no danger to my life! Are you sure you're not mistaken?]

The System fell silent once more.

Sally called out a few more times but still got no response.

The black panther carried her to the bank of a big river with exceptionally clear water, then set her down and went into the water, effortlessly catching a big fat fish over half a meter long.

Since arriving in Beast World, Sally had not seen a fish before.

The fresh and sweet taste of fish flesh immediately surfaced from the depths of her memory, making her instinctively lick her lips.

Noticing her small gesture, the black panther skillfully sliced open the belly of the fish with its sharp claws, then cleaned it and placed it in front of Sally as if making an offering.

The message was clear, it was inviting her to eat.

Was manna falling from heaven?

Impossible, right?

Sally stared at the pinkish and tender fish flesh, but she dared not touch it.

As if understanding her fear, the black panther walked off a short distance, lay down, and closed its eyes.

In truth, Sally herself was at the brink of starvation. Since entering the Beast Forest, she had almost exclusively eaten fruits daily, and it had been nearly ten days since she had tasted meat.

Now that there was a piece of succulent fresh fish in front of her, she couldn't wait any longer.

Glancing at the black panther once more and seeing it lying with its back to her, she slowly and boldly began to nibble on the fish.

Tastier than she remembered... it was incredibly delicious.

If she had some barbecue seasoning, the fish would probably taste even better grilled.

As Sally was eating blissfully unaware, the black panther silently stood up, approached the fish, and with its golden vertical pupils, deeply watched her, who was burrowed into the fish's belly, happily indulging.
