CHAPTER 2

Lee walks into the front of the school where he sees his best friends, Dayeon Hue.

"Oh, hey Lee. I'm surprised you came to school today, thought you'd be at the hospital with your grandfather." Dayeon says.

"I'm going after school. I wouldn't hear the end of it from the old man if I skipped today." Lee says with a smile.

Dayeon smirks.

"Well, we better get going or we'll be late." She says, jokingly punching Lee in the arm.

As the two walk inside school, Lee is watched by Mikey, Mira, and Seokju watches from a distance.

"Ok, so who the hell is this guy?" Seokju asks.

"I have no idea. He has amazing Ki control, not only that but it was red. I've never seen anyone with that color aura, not even Demons." Mikey points out.

"Not only that, but he seems to be living a normal civilians life so he's not a sanctioned Demon Hunter. We have to keep a close eye on him, see if he's a threat or if there's others like him." Mira says.

Mikey nods.

"Agreed."

Seokju sits down and yawns.

"You two really think it's a good idea to watch one person while Demons could be running wild?"

Both Mira and Mikey smirk at each other.

"Well, thank you for volunteering to keep watch for Demons while we do recon on this guy, Seokju." Mikey says.

Seokju is shocked by this.

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah, thanks Sin." Mira says.

"Wait a damn minute." Seokju says, as Mira and Mikey run off to keep an eye on Lee.

Seokju scoffs.

"Fine, more action for me I guess."

Later on during the day, Lee and Dayeon are in gym class outside while Mikey and Mira are watching. The two Demon Hunters notice not only how muscular and tone he is, but scars on his body and cheek.

"Judging by the shape he's in and those scars, he's been doing some hard-core training." Mikey says.

"It's more than that. This guy has been through serious fights with Demons. And judging by those scars, they weren't a walk in the park." Mira replies.

Mikey is shocked.

"He can't be too much older than us, and for him to have such severe injuries, It's crazy." Mikey says.

Dayeon sighs.

"Man I hate Gym class." She says.

Lee chuckles.

"Come on, it's not that bad."

Dayeon scoffs.

"Easy for you to say, you're like a machine. Freak of nature." Dayeon says.

"Alright everyone! Today we'll be doing a fitness test to see where everyone stands." The gym teacher says.

Lee steps up next to four other students to take the first fitness test.

"Alright, side to side jumps for thirty seconds. Ready?"

At that moment, Lee's body tightens as he focuses intensely.

"Go!"

At that moment, Lee begins to do side to side jumps so fast, no one can keep up, not even Mikey or Mira.

"So fast. I can't even keep count." Mikey says.

"And he's not using an ounce of Ki, this is his natural speed." Mira states.

"Next is- the fifteen hundred meter run. Go!"

In a blink of an eye Lee takes off, crossing the finish line in seconds. Everyone is even more shocked, except for Dayeon who knows how incredible Lee is.

"Next, shot put."

Lee picks up the heavy ball like it was a baseball. He then throws it into the sky until no one can see it anymore.

"Woah... this guy's insane." A student says beside Dayeon.

Dayeon chuckles.

"Yep, that's my boy." She says.

Meanwhile Mira and Mikey are visibly shaken.

"Ok, so he's like Jiho Yu. He has unreal physical strength. Who is this guy?" Mikey asks.

Mira then notices how close Lee is to Dayeon.

"We need answers. And I think I know where to get them."

Later on, Lee goes to the hospital to visit his grandpa, with flowers in hand. When Monroe Ijin sees his grandson, he smiles and chuckles at him.

"I thought I told you to stop worrying about me."

Lee chuckles.

"Yep, you did." Lee says, putting the flowers in a vase.

Monroe Ijin smirks while closing his eyes.

"You shouldn't be wasting your time in a sad place like this. You're still young, you have your entire life ahead of you."

Lee smiles.

"Jeez, Grandpa. You're really depressing in your old age. It's not like anyone's forcing me to be here, it's my choice. You're the only family I have and took care of me all these years, so as long as you're here. I will be here too." Lee replies with a smile.

Monroe's smirk grows into a smile as his eyes stay closed.

"Lee..."

Lee looks over at his grandfather.

"You're a strong kid, so try to help those in need. No matter how strong you are, you won't be able to save everyone. But just whenever you can. Don't expect gratitude or thanks. Just help them. And whenever it's your time to pass on, make sure you're surrounded by others... Walk your own path... Be your own man."

A memory flashes through Monroe's mind of him training with a kid Lee.

"Watching over you all these years... were the best years of my life. I love you, kid."

Lee stares at his grandfather as he stops moving. A silence falls over the room and Lee's eyes widen.

"Grandpa?"

Lee doesn't get an answer, causing tears to fall down his face. He then walks over to Monroe and he grabs his hand.

"I love you too, grandpa." He says.

Meanwhile, Seokju is still keeping watch on the roof of the school.

"Man, this boring. How long does it take to get info on one guy?" He says to himself.

"Oh, a Demon Hunter is here, huh?" A voice behind him says.

Seokju is surprised by this and quickly turns around to see a white and black Demon behind him.

"This might be fun after all." The Demon says with a smile on his face.

While that's happening, as Dayeon goes to leave the school she is stopped by Mikey and Mira.

"I don't remember seeing you two around here before."

"We want to know about your friend with the red jacket and scar on his right cheek."Mira says.

Dayeon is suspicious.

"Why should I?" Dayeon asks.

Mira scowls.

"Because I'll only ask nicely, once." She says.

Mikey backs up Mira from Dayeon.

"Look, we can't tell you why. But we need to know everything you know about him."

Before Dayeon can answer, Seokju is thrown through a window nearby, catching everyone's attention. Mira and Mikey rushes to his side.

"Seokju, what happened?" Mikey asks.

Seokju slowly sits up.

"There's a... second grade Demon."

Both Mira and Mikey are shocked when they hear this.

"A second grade? But... that's impossible." Mira says.

"Oh, it's possible." The Demon says, appearing infront of them.

Dayeon is stunned.

"What the hell is that thing!?" Dayeon yells.

The Demon laughs.

"Well, well, well. Four humans... all for me... and I was starting to get hungry too."

As Dayeon becomes terrified, Mikey and Mira pull out their weapons and Seokju stands up and prepares his fists to fight. Mikey turns to Dayeon.

"Run, now!" He demands, but Dayeon is frozen with fear.

The Demon smirks and raises his hand towards them, charging purple demonic energy.

"Damn." Mikey thinks to himself as he runs towards Dayeon to protect her.

The Demon then fires off a destructive blast at all four of them that destroys part of the school.
