Chapter 11 Talon's Peremptory Offer

　　Caitlyn's POV

　　"What?"

　　My heart skipped a beat as I was taken aback, wondering if I might be imagining things.

　　"Hey, Wildcat, I must say I appreciate your courage in sharing this news with me. You see, I've been yearning to have a child of my own, and what I'm about to do is quite risky, Caitlyn. However, I'm genuinely happy about it, and I'd love to see you tonight."

　　Talon's voice trembled slightly, and his words seemed a bit disjointed, not at all what I had anticipated.

　　I had expected him to mock me mercilessly, maybe even call me names, and then hang up abruptly. Yet, instead, he was telling me that he wanted to take responsibility.

　　It was almost too incredible to believe, like something out of a dream. I pinched Leona hard on her back, and she let out a cry of pain.

　　Thank goodness, it wasn't a dream.
