CHALLENGE

Accepting a disciple was a simple affair in Spiritus, but due to the special circumstances of Sunil town the chief's disciple was like a King's successor so there was some special protocols to be observed before they could be fully acknowledged as his disciple.

"I'ld like to challenge the chief's disciples".A little voice sounded shocking the whole town, there was pin drop silence, a little boy that looked about five years old emerged from the crowd, bowed to Ragnar and said "if the chief would permit me, I'll like to challenge your disciples.

The whole town was shocked once more, challenging the chief's disciples was one of the protocols to be observed when the chief wants to take in a new disciple but since only the best were usually chosen by the chiefs the challenges became useless and it was slowly becoming a forgotten tradition, but now a little boy was actually challenging the chief's new disciples, the adults wanted to see what action the chief would take after all Fez was the town's little genius and he would've probably been there Chief's successor if not for the emergence of the holy children. Whereas the kids were happy their little leader was challenging the two strangers that suddenly barged into their lives and stole their chief's heart.

Ragnar was not sure if what to do, after all being the town's little genius Fez was at the peak stage spirit formation realm, he would have advanced to the spirit growth realm if not for his Qi purity strengthening, he had a lot of combat techniques and he even had a special physique, all of these could make him fight an average mid stage spirit growth realm and win, after all an average mid stage spirit growth cultivator would only have a strength of twenty to fifty spirit ox (strength in Spiritus is measured by spirit ox). Even though Fez only had a strength of a ten spirit ox his special physique could help him double it for a short period of time and his combat techniques could help him harness that strength properly.

Allowing such a little monster to fight Carl, a early stage spirit formation novice who didn't know anything about cultivation a few months ago would be disastrous. He would have had Ralph accept the challenge if the little devourer hadn't advanced to the spirit growth realm, he was especially shocked after testing his Qi purity and seeing he had lit up thirteen holes in the Qi stone despite his speedy advancement, he couldn't let Ralph accept the challenge as a spirit growth realm cultivator because even if he won it would just be a spirit realm cultivator defeating a foundation realm cultivator; he would have no honor, and he couldn't reject the challenge it would only mean his new disciples are not qualified."what are you thinking about, just accept the challenge master, I'll handle him ".while he was thinking he heard Carl's confident voice. Even though Carl was confident, Ragnar was not sure he could defeat Fez after all he knew Carl's recent advancements had made his ego inflated."maybe I should just let him fight Fez it would be a great experience for him and after teaching him some techniques they could have a rematch".

"I permit you to challenge the pretty boy, everyone to the challenge ring"Ragnar said and the crowd moved to another part of the square, a battle ring could be found there.

"It's been a while since anyone had fought in the ring"an excited man said looking forward to the outcome of the fight.

The adults knew the special identity of the chief's new disciples, but they also knew how strong Fez was, so they believed the fight would be an epic one, only Ragnar knew Carl was a total novice with great talent, if he was taught for about a year he was super sure he could defeat Fez but he didn't have any hope for him now.

The two kids entered the ring, no one was worried about the two boys safety after all the chief himself was overseeing the fight and nothing could escape his senses.

Les was happy to see his plan working, he knew something the others didn't know, which made him sure of Fez's victory.

Ragnar created a bell with his Qi and rang it, signifying the battle should start.

"With my strength all I need to do is to get close to him and give him a punch straight to the guts he won't be able to withstand it"Carl thought as he ran towards Fez, sending a punch towards him.The people were shocked, fighting head on without using the spirit Qi was something only people without cultivation would do"could this be a new kind of battle strategy the chief created"they thought.

Fez also thought there was some special meaning behind Carl's action and cautiously dodged his punch.

"Falling star punch", he sent a punch to Carl, to Carl the punch felt like a meteor was about to fall on him."Damn what the heck this is cheating". he thought as he tried to dodge the punch but he suddenly saw it in his face before he could think of anything he was sent flying, before he could stand up he was hit again and sent flying, he tried blocking it but he was still sent flying.

Seeing the scene the people felt shocked"why does it seem like an adult toying with a kid"a man said looking at the ring strangely.

"Yeah, it's like a cat toying with a mouse"another man added.

"How is he able to do this while I can't, damn that old man he didn't teach me how to use Qi like this guy can". Carl thought still trying to dodge Fez's fists,"well, if he didn't teach me, I'll learn it myself".

He started studying the rhythm of Fez fists, after a while he was able to dodge a few hits, just when he though he could finally start regaining his dignity""Break iron fist"Fez started using another technique.

"Was chief new disciple bribed by Fez, why isn't he fighting back"a boy asked his father. "it's not like he doesn't want to fight back he just can't". His father replied.

"Am sure that ignorant little brat's behaviour would be better after he gets beaten up by Fez". Les thought happily has he watched the one sided beating.
