Chapter 13 - The Exodus

"What are the criteria for people to be chosen to enter the tower?"

[The answer won't be what you expect, do you still want to know?.]

"Yes."

"Oh yea, before you answer that, can you set this room to the preset we chose last round?"

[Very well.]

The white room changed into the exact same place as the first floor's safe zone.

[The criteria for the first batch is Alignment, every group in this batch is separated into different alignment, you three come from the group of lawful neutral while you come from the group of neutral good.]

"How does the Tower even know that?"

[It chooses objectively by going through everything you've done.]

"How many people are of Evil alignment in floor 1's safe zone?"

[Do you really want to know?]

"Nevermind, I don't, you might be lying."

"Does our life span increase when we are inside the Tower?"

[Your life span will stay the same if you don't climb the tower, if you do, you will receive the healing effect of the Tower that resets your body to its prime once you pass it.]

"So it encouraged people to rise to stay alive? And discouraged the young ones from going into the tower?"

[Indeed.]

"But isn't that the opposite of what the gods want?"

[The Gods create the Tower, they can bless their followers with the same treatment as the Tower.]

"That makes sense."

"Is there any type of currency in the Tower that could effectively be used for trading?"

[Yes, however, you have to go to floor 10 to be allowed to receive it.]

"Is there a way for me to increase the level of my unique ability?"

[So you have a unique ability? interesting, you will find it as a reward for a side objective, however, the screen won't tell you.]

'What? What if the 100 goblins side objective has that reward? Did I miss an opportunity to raise my skill level?' Negative thoughts erupted within my mind, but I became calm again within a second.

"I didn't ask this question before, but I should've asked why did I see an alias of the god has noticed me, and then the line under is just many gods, deities, and spirits have noticed me?"

[Wait] Gan said, and he stood there for a few seconds before he answered.

[The Gods ordered me to answer this one truthfully, the reason why the system told you about the alias of the god is because they paid the most for you to see their alias, and if you were to choose that god, then you will receive the whole amount they spent on you when you gain access to the currency.]

'So they pre-ordered me?' A funny thought went through my consciousness.

I have the gist of who The Lightbringer might be, but Forgiver of Heaven doesn't ring any bell. I'm not very versed in Catholic knowledge, it's an interesting subject, sure, but I didn't invest much time learning about it.

Jenna asked a few more questions for confirmation, and I asked Jake to stay and hear Gan's answer while I went off to find the place where my house was since the place was still the same just as I liked it.

When I got to the space, I just pulled out my house and everything that I had created and taken from the last safe zone and placed it in this one, I ain't going to make them again, it will take too long.

Before going back to floor 1's safe zone, I allocated my stats points while averaging them out, and this is the result.

I felt a lot stronger than I was before, like two times stronger, but I'm still not sure if I could shoot the rock from my hand again without my hand exploding from the recoil. I won't get another healing, so I won't take my chances. Well, completing the whole floor is another matter, as right now I need to relocate people who side with me to this floor.

Using the [Floors] option, I moved to floor one, and many were surprised that I'm still alive, but they were anxious when they didn't see Jake or Jenna.

"Where are Jake and Jenna?" Someone anxiously asked

"They're at the next floor's safe zone." (Leonard)

"So what's the quest objective for the next floor?" Another person asked.

"Floor 2 quest's main objective is killing the goblin chief." (Eliza)

"That's it?"

"The goblin chief is guarded by 100 goblins."

"WHAT? How are you still alive?"

"Did you lied and teleported here with your floor owner's authority?"

"No, I killed the goblin chief, as you can see, my username is Space, and my unique ability is Space related so it was quite easy for me."(Leonard)

"Really? Can you show me how?" A big looking man went up to me and said

"You want me to teleport a stone inside your brain?"

"Actually, no." He said and went back

"Well, for people who trust me, I will help you to the next floor." (Leonard)

"What do we have to pay you with?" A girl asked and everyone start talking between themselves

"Like what I already agreed to do, I'm doing it for free, two at a time, though." (Leonard)

This event might be significant enough to be marked down in history as the Second Exodus or something, but in all honesty, me being the first one to clear the first floor might be the greatest mark I left on history. Anyway, that's the end of my narcissistic behavior.

The people who decided to trust me were 18 people out of around 100 people who were in here at the time, quite a small number considering the initial 900 from what I made out from Gan's word.

I entered floor two, nine times and only took out the goblin chief by teleporting a rock inside its head and completing the main objective. I don't need to know where it is, I only need to know what it looks like to target it. However doing it without seeing him took me 50 vigors which is a high price, though, so I had to do it in the span of two days. At that time, I found out that if I spent stat points on my endurance stats when my vigor was not full yet, I wouldn't recover my vigor fully. To recover vigor, I needed to eat and rest, so it took time.

While in the middle of transporting people, Jake told me that Gan said the reason we don't feel the need to excrete waste from our bodies is because our digestive systems have been upgraded by the tower to be able to fully digest every organic thing within the tower.
