Chapter 8 Can't See Her

I'm fine mistress, thank you for asking," Claire said cheerfully, 

Judy had just woken up from her slumber to see Claire making breakfast for them, Judy sighed and knew deep down she had to get used to Claire in her own body, it was still new to her but she made the most of it, and Claire can still do things she could do when she was a hologram, it's great she's not complaining but she feels this off presence around her. She can't help it whenever she tries to work or pay bills she feels a strike in her abdomen, 

"Mistress? Are you well? Have you come down with the flu?"Claire asked

Judy shakes her head and puts her hand over her, 

"Don't worry about me. I will survive," Judy said 

Claire looks at her in wonder, Claire knows that Judy is fine but Claire notices that she's more stressed than usual, she constantly checks her data and sometimes finds things but not all the time. she will look through it not from work but from Claire, she was made to help her not make her stressed out and a burden. She felt guilt hit her heart. If she had one, she might as well have on now, 

"Hey Claire the food is burning," Judy said 

She jumped looking at the pan to see it black and hopeless, sighed turned off the stove put the food in the garbage, setting the pan in the sink before starting over again, 

"Hey, what's that," Eurus said 

He saw the smoke in the kitchen going into the dining room, he then slowly walked over to his auntie looking over her shoulder, Judy gave him a side glance knowing what he was doing, 

"Hey auntie," Eurus said 

"Yeah?" Judy answered

"How is work lately?" Eurus asked

Judy sighed and pointed at the chair next to her, Eurus who asked her this question every morning just so they could talk to each other, it's them spending some time together. We all know that sometimes when you talk to your family there is some political stuff and life involved in it, but he loves talking to his aunt, she is waiting patiently for him to talk about what's happening in both his life and work life, he sat next to her, 

"It all starts with what happened with the hacker, what happened? Where is it now, that was my morning then I had to do some research for work as well," Judy said letting out a frustrated sigh, 

Eurus rubs her back trying to relax her, 

"That sucks," Eurus said 

Judy chuckled at his honesty, she could always count on him to make her laugh, 

"How long have you been up Auntie?" Eurus asked 

Judy brushed it off saying she got enough sleep, before Claire placed a plate full of food in front of her, 

"I would like to know the mistress," Claire said

Claire moved next to Judy, 

"Are you two trying to get it out of me or?" Judy said

Eurus looks above Judy's head at Claire, giving her a wink that she does understand. She gives him a slight nod, Judy looks at the both of them and Claire quickly moves to get Eurus's plate, but Eurus just keeps staring at the ceiling trying to avoid his aunt's gaze, when Claire puts the plate in front of him when he got an Idea,

"Hey, Claire do you still have the security cameras in Auntie's office?" Eurus asked

Judy stopped eating to stare them down as Claire turned to them, she nods closing her and concentrating on the footage, Judy gawked at her bewildered before having the other day's memory go through her mind, Claire looked up at them, her eyes glowing shows Judy early this morning just working with her electronics, then going back and forth to the files and footage of multitude of videos to watch, they watched her look at the time, saying she can do this in no time two hours. Later she was done and fell asleep on her desk, 

"What time was that again?" Eurus asked 

Judy tries to stop Claire from telling him but it is too late, Claire announces that it is four and she went back to sleep at nine o'clock, 

"It's not as bad as it was when she started, but I would recommend more sleep, it will cause massive mood swings," Claire said 

"What does that mean? Is it a scientific fact?" Judy asked 

Eurus chuckled and said,

"You do wake up angry sometimes Auntie,"

Judy turned to him and scoffed,

"That might be true,"

"Might be true? Do you remember the day we ran out of coffee and you went to the store to get it, I had the cops call cause you took your favorite coffee from a Karen," Eurus said plainly, 

"What do you mean took? That Karen takes my coffee out of my hands and you think I wasn't going to call security on her, then she tries to punch me thank goodness security was there to knock her out," Judy said 

"Do I have to show the footage from the store?" Claire said 

"How did you get the footage?" Judy said 

"Little Eurus of course," Claire asserted

Judy turned to him glaring at him and started to ask him about it, they didn't notice Shai watching them from the corner, smiling at the site in front of her, but something seemed to bug her, how was her father? 

The Other Realm,

"You are not supposed to be here," The figure said 

The figure moves to them. Leif grips Sonya who is shaking at the scene in front of her, she didn't get this kind of training in police tryouts!

"What am I going to do," Sonya thought

"You don't have to worry little one. I will not hurt you," the figure said 

Sonya looked around Leif, it was still there! It's not real. It shouldn't be. Right? Sonya moves from behind Leif holding out her gun, 

"That will not," the figure said 

Sonya cut it off by the gun hitting the floor, the figure stares up at her in stun, 

"Why do you not want us here? Is there something about this room? This apartment? I don't know what you are but I know one thing, you know where she is my daughter! Where is she?" Leif asked 

The figure stood back looking at the man, his eyes showed a tired soul going around trying to find her, he looked determined. Strengthened even? By knowing he's on the right track, the figure is now in front of him menacingly reaching out its hand for him, Leif is hesitant to touch it, so he moves back but Sonya moves closer to it, she tries to touch the figure but her hand went through it, Sonya moves away from it bewildered by the current problem,

The figure chuckles at her and says,

"Good try but that won't work,"

It turns its head to Leif, 

"To answer your question, yes I do know where she is but that is not for you to find out," the figure said 

Leif gawked at it in disbelief. He had been looking everywhere for his daughter, he looked at the police office to see if there was any data on her disappearance, he checked the other county cops but like the first one, they had nothing. They offered to help him but they came out with nothing. Nothing. Nothing. How many times is he going to hear that standing there and taking it, Leif felt anger going through his veins and said, 

"Do you know what I went through to get here? I'm not leaving until I see my daughter,"

The figure backed away a bit not out of fright but stunned through his action, the figure started to speculate if he could tell him, would it break the timeline? It could maybe destroy the realm Shai is in. It could not let that happen even if it wanted to let Leif go into that realm, it would only hurt them.

"I am sorry. You can not look for her... she needs to do something on her own but I can tell you there is a possibility that you will see her again," the figure said

Leif was about to respond but behind the figure, he saw Sonya with a wooden leg of the table aiming it at the figure 

And hits it over the head, the figure doesn't even move. It stays in its spot unmoving, unwavering, Sonya looks at Leif telling him they should go before they can the figure's hand grips Sonya's throat tightly, the aura around it is dark colors of red and black, purples, making it look taller than them. Its eyes are now shown to be white on the inside of the eyes and the reds are drawing out like fire,

"I have tolerated your presence long enough! You foolish child what do you think that will accomplish? Making me irritated? by me showing you kindness and you just throw it aside!" The figure said 

Leif stood there watching the scene in front of him, The figure continued to choke Sonya who saw little pigments of light go around, she looked around the room trying to find Leif but she couldn't find him. She attempts to get put off the figure's grip, ripping, tearing, scratching, but nothing comes of it. She feels her lungs starting to give up on her, and her eyes burn with tears. It felt like her body was on fire that's when she noticed a blue and gold portal glowing beside her,

Sonya's drowsy eyes looked to where it was watching it grow then the room turning into shambles, she heard the door open to show a beautiful young woman walking into the room carefully with a broken table leg in her hands,

"Who are you?" Sonya thought 

Sonya heard the woman say something 

"Maybe I...Papa," 

Sonya thought it was weird but she kept her eyes on her, watching her contemplate the dilemma, suddenly the portal grew bigger. Sonya saw the girl still not noticing the portal that started to get more dangerous, Sonya tried again to get out of the figure's grasp but little did she know she was a spectator in it. With all her might she struggled with it, Sonya heard the woman scream, she looked at her to find the woman falling to the floor and going into the portal,

"What no!"

Sonya couldn't help her. All she could have done was hold her hand out for her, hoping that she would feel another hand holding onto her.

"I got you,"

Leif grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap, Sonya was heavily breathing in oxygen, Leif looked relieved that she was fine but it was hard dealing with the figure, 

"I know she tried to hurt you, but you need to let her go," Leif said 

The figure tightened his grip and let out a hymn,

"This shouldn't go unpunished. She wanted to hurt me even if I let her go what makes you think she won't try again," The figure said 

Leif understands its stance on it and says, 

"I understand that you're angry at her for doing that after you said that you wouldn't hurt her, it doesn't mean you should hurt her or worse," Leif said 

The figure let its grip loosen so Sonya could breathe better, Leif felt relieved getting it to let her breathe, 

"You might be right Leif. But I can't let this go unscathed, she showed disrespect to me... What would you like for me to do to her," The figure said 

Leif sighed and answered, 

"She doesn't know what she was seeing neither did I. She was confused and did one of the only things she thought was right,"

The figure said, 

"You have a point. her mortal mind couldn't handle. Fine, I will let her go," 

It drops Sonya to the ground, as Leif runs up to her and checks her, Leif sighs before looking up to find the figure not there,
