-End of Note

Isane didn't seem to be listening to Baki's words. She continued to cover her face while holding the shirt up for Baki to take it from her. "Just take it already!" she yelled at him. Baki, who was trying to be serious, couldn't help but tease her a little, "I like the breeze, besides, it has your blood all over it," Baki mocked. Isane, not wanting to participate in the antics, threw the shirt at Baki and crossed her arms while looking away. "Hurry up," she commanded. Baki put the shirt back on and said, "Alright, now like I was saying with Aiz-".

"I heard you," Isane said with a distressed expression, "It's just hard to believe a random Ryoka." Baki simply shrugged at her response and leaned back on the tree, looking at the sky through the leaves. Isane, confused why Baki didn't have much of a reaction, turned towards him and stared him in the eyes intently. "What is your goal here? You don't seem to care much about the mission. You started rambling about Aizen's plan and now it seems like you don't care," Isane said. Baki knew what she was saying was right; he felt passionate for a second while talking about Aizen's plan, but now he remembered he didn't care much about the mission. Baki couldn't place his finger on it. "Was it the fact that Aizen tricked me, so I wanted to ruin his plan, or did I truly want to help the others after spending time with them…?" Baki thought to himself.

"Well then?" Isane pressed. Baki finally came to a conclusion and stared back at Isane. "I guess I'm here… to help those guys out; that's why I got so hyped up," Baki said. Isane crawled closer, pointed at him, and said, "Then what's next after you help them?" Baki was taken aback by this question; he hadn't thought that far. "Enough of this interrogation, I got a question I need answering," Baki replied. Isane lowered her finger and nodded, giving Baki the green light. "Why can't you believe your savior?" Baki teased. Isane began to grow red with rage. "You're the one who put me in the position to be saved in the first place!" she yelled at him. Baki, slightly irritated that Isane held a grudge, rebutted, "I apologized already!" The two went back and forth for a moment before finally bursting into laughter. Their argument had derailed into something completely unrelated, causing them to be amused rather than bitter.

After wiping a tear of laughter from his face, Baki stood up ready to leave. Isane tried to follow suit, but as she stood up, she began to feel dizzy. As she was about to fall, Baki grabbed her by the arm and slung her over his shoulder. "Put me down!" she protested. Baki jumped out of the tree onto a roof. "Which way to the squad 4 barracks?" Baki asked, ignoring her protests. Finally giving in, Isane began to guide Baki. After some time, they had eventually arrived at the barracks. "Find a way to sneak in," Isane advised. Baki, paying no heed to her words, made no attempt to conceal himself and instead leaped straight into the courtyard of the barracks.

Baki noticed something was off; things were different since the last time he was here. It was a lot busier than before. As Baki was inspecting the situation, a little girl with pink hair rushed past him with a man who had spiky hair. The man was in terrible condition. "Looks like they're putting in a lot of work," Baki thought to himself. "Get out of here, hurry!" Isane said to him in a half-whispering, half-shouting tone. Baki, however, was too curious to leave. "Who else is in there?" he contemplated. Baki placed Isane down and walked towards the window of the medical facility and looked inside. What he saw baffled him but also gave him joy. As he was about to turn and leave, he saw a man who wore a helmet towering above him. "Baki, go! Get out of here!" Isane screamed, while other squad 4 members helped her get up. "I've heard of you. The one who defeated Captain Kuchiki," the man in the helmet said. "You're fast; I could have sworn you were in the room just a moment ago," Baki laughed. "Come with me," helmet head said, leading Baki away from the Squad 4 courtyard to a more isolated area. "The name is Sajin Komamura, otherwise known as Captain Komamura. Remember the name that will take your life." Baki began laughing at him, "You're fast, but it isn't my first time dealing with fast captains, I think you know that well. Don't you?" Baki mocked.

Sajin took on an offensive stance and said, "I hope you know that Captains are roughly 5 times weaker in the human realm, so this won't be as easy as it was last time." Baki grinned and replied, "That's fine; I'm at least 100 times stronger than Byakuya anyway." Not wanting to converse with Baki any longer, Sajin shunpo'd right in front of Baki and swung at him. Baki barely dodged by leaning back; however, it was so close that Sajin managed to cut a few strands of Baki's hair. Not giving Baki any time to move again, the man swung at Baki's legs, causing Baki to jump and lose balance. Baki was now in the air facing the sky; he tucked his legs in an attempt to flip back, but Sajin capitalized on this opportunity and punched him with his free arm, sending him crashing into the ground.
