The grocery bag on the counter table Jess take out the big fresh balls of tomatoes into the medium creamy bowl in front of her on the tiny kitchen counter space alongside other ingredients, the television chatter indistinct when suddenly the door slammed loudly shut.
Mary who walked through the door didn't sit down for one second grabbed the remote from the centre table while Mother was watching a show and changed the Chanel to a Spanish telenovela.
"You can't just walk in and change the TV," she said furiously taking the remote back but Mary is fast enough to swing her hand from the way so she just catches air.
"Is boring anyway I don't see what you like about that anyway " Mary retorted, Jessie walked from the kitchen. Is obvious that Mary and Mom don't get along, they have been on each other neck for the type of friends she makes and her job.
"You can't just change the TV Chanel before you came in Mom was already watching" Mary turned a sharp dead glare at Jess wondering where she came from.
"Seriously?" She asked sharply still shuffling through channels.
"Jeez is just a TV Chanel a fucking forty-four minutes...all mom do is stay home and watch TV what else is new," Mary remarked and dropped the remote on the table, and walked past Jess into the kitchen. Jess followed her, their mom grab the remote and change it back to what she was watching.
"came back from jail acting like you run the whole damn place, ain't nobody scared about you coming from jail" mom said without knowing Jess was still close enough to hear her.
"Mom watch Your show and please shut up" Jessie commented on it, following Mary to the kitchen. She was already gulping chilly water from the bottle.
"Aren't you going to get a job is over two weeks now" Jessie resumed her chopping, Mary rolled her eyes looking around her eyes searching the food items Lying on the counter table which were a few sticks of carrots, a large size of bell green peppers, fresh green beans, onions and lettuce.
"You mean get a crappy hotel job with a bare minimum paycheck which will barely keep up the rent, Cmon Jess are you that dumb-
"So all you are going to do is stay at home and fight with mom you see how she looks sick and unhealthy does that not bother you" Jessie talked to Mary while she chopped the veggies, the small size pot boiling profusely on the gas stove. Jess was the type that talked about situations or conditions in the exact like the other person haven't thought about that. She admired Jess's chef skills as well.
"I do care alright, with Solomon in Jail makes things difficult" Mary commented on the issue, she hasn't spoken so much about the health of their mother because she has other problems to deal with and it was a money problem, sum it, in general, is all money problems.
"God! You are still onto this guy is his fault you spent three years in prison why the hell do you think he could have done something" Jessie said, this wasn't the first time she has expressed her dislike of Solomon.
