27- Davestating heart break

"Why are you still awake?" Was what he said as soon as I answered the call.

"Why are you awake?" I really liked the dynamic of answering questions with people I'm close to. I never knew why, but something about the challenge gives me free dopamine.

I didn't exactly hear a chuckle, but I could tell he was smiling, "Can't sleep," he waited a couple of seconds before asking, "How was tonight?"

"it was quite... Adventurous,"

"You didn't like it," His tone was regretful like he thinks he should've taken me somewhere else.

"I did, a lot. I haven't been to the beach in a long time. And it got me in a pretty good mood." I rolled on my back to stare at the ceiling.

"I'm glad I took you there then,"

"I'm glad you did, too."

We stayed silent for a few minutes. The only indicator the call was still going was the sound of his steady breaths.
