Chapter 2: Vanished

There were 7 men sitting at a round table inside of the meeting room at Heilan's Royal castle.

One of the men stood up and started to talk. "We should just get rid of those damn beastmen! They don't need to exist! All they do is fuck up what we want!"

He slammed his fist on the table and the men around him started to think about what he said.

"I agree with this." One of the men stood up and agreed with the one who proposed the idea. Slowly, each of the men agreed.

"Then it's decided. We will finally take them and exterminate the waste of life; those beastmen are as good as dead!"

And now we go to the present: Heilan has sent out forces to each beastmen populated area and destroyed everything.

They even to make sure to do unholy things to the women, kill all of the men, and sometimes, they would even do "things" to the children.

After the soldiers had their fun, they killed all of the beastmen and moved to the next location.

The next village was where Azumi and her family were. It took the soldiers 6 days to reach the location.

They took a single day and set up a rigged explosive on the church in the village. They did this at nighttime so they wouldn't be seen.

"Huh? Who's there?!" A single cat type beastman was walking around at night after he got drunk at the village's pub.

He had been swaying from side to side as he walked so you could obviously tell he was drunk.

One of the soldiers stepped out and thrusted their sword through the man's chest. "Argh..." He died almost instantly.

They dragged the body to the front of the church and set the corpse on fire. "Go fuck yourself you lowly being." One of the soldiers said this and then went back into the shadows.

-[The next morning]-

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" A bison type beastman who was on his daily morning stroll found the burned corpse in front of the church.

"Who the hell did this-" He vomited after muttering those very words. He got a few adventurers and patrolmen that he could find and brought them to the burnt corpse.

They decided to take the body and examine it with the skill [Inspect]. "Ah. It says based on his magical signatures that he was stabbed and then burned around 1 am last night."

The single mage said this and backed away from the corpse. Everyone there discussed a proposal to tighten the small security they had. It was ultimately agreed to by everyone present.

So they got all of the patrolmen and sent some to each part of the village to observe anything and everything.

Azumi woke up and looked outside her window to see the already risen sun. Her eyes looked emotionless and dead. "Good morning, Azumi. Are you feeling okay?" said Lorm from behind the room's door.

Azumi stayed silent. Everyone was worried about her since she used to be super perky and just overall a little ball of happiness and joy.

Just like her grandmother, she had become dead inside. Lorm had left from the corridor that had Azumi's room and went to his own room.

Azumi laid back down. She quietly said, "I hate this place. I miss mom and dad..." She fell asleep crying to herself.

*BOOM* The church was blown up by the trap that the soldiers from Heilan set up. People around the area ducked for cover or started running towards the explosion to check out what happened.

Patrolmen and adventurers started to get close to the church when the soldiers started their assault. "CHARGE!" A soldier yelled and then ran towards the village.

There were swordsman and archers along with mages in huge numbers starting the attack. The archers fired magical arrows towards the beastman village.

Those very arrows can be controlled through mana manipulation when connected through magic thread.

Azumi was awoken by Lorm and she was then told to get ready to leave in one minute. "I'm ready?" said Azumi who came down the corridor. She was picked up by Lorm and taken outside.

Lorm yelled as an arrow hit him in the head. He died instantly and so Azumi fell to the ground along with him because she was being held by him.

Ashley grabbed Azumi and ran as soldiers piled in around her. She was cut across the abdomen by a sword.

As her body was being cut by the sword she said, "FUCK..."

Her lower half fell and her upper half went airborne for a few seconds before hitting the ground. Azumi and other villagers were surrounded.

An arrow whizzed by and struck Azumi in her left arm.

Azumi was scared for her life. The only two parental type figures now in her life are dead. Something started to change inside of her.

Her mind started to cloud and she could feel something was different about her.

Azumi's mana started to drain faster and faster, leaving her unable to stand after her mana was nearly depleted.

Her hair started to turn silver-white on the left side of her head, but stopped about half way through.

One of the soldiers attacking the group she was in said, "What the fuck is wrong with the little one?! Hey!"

Azumi started to fear that she is going to die from whatever is happening to her.

Her body started to glow white and she appeared to be slowly encased inside of a blue orb that slowly turned black.

Her consciousness began to fade from lack of mana and the wound she's sustained has taken a toll on her body.

And then in a single instant, the orb that contained Azumi vanished without a trace.

Huh? Where am I? Why is it so dark? I can't... remember anything.

Why am I sad?

Why am I alone?

Why am I here?

Slowly a bright blue sky appeared above Azumi. And she began to fall.
