Transmigration.

It was a stormy night. The thunder rumbled in the sky as if the world was about to end.

And maybe because it was about to!

"You will die today." A young man said to his nemesis as they fought restlessly.

Swords slashed together and under the earth, it was as if the heaven would fall.

"Ha ha, you are such a fool, DragonLord. You are the one who's going to perish." The other man on an heavily guided armor said. He was filled with rage and ready to defeat the young boy.

"I am Wren, the dragonLord, and today...you will meet your demise. Ahhhh!" With all his might, he jumped up and his sword struck lightening, glinting like diamond, then as it was about to it strike deep into the older man's chest, Wren's eyes flung open.

He was drooling already when a hot slap landed on his face. He jumped up to see his boss staring at him with wide open eyes.

"What the hell are you doing here, Wren? Sleeping on the first day of the week? It's fucking Monday and you're slacking!"

His boss is a short man who had eyes built to intimidate.

"Mr. Jake, I'm so sorry." He said immediately, then went about his normal job as a cleaner. Hours went by and now, his stomach grumbled of hunger.

All he needed was to cross the road to fetch a burger. He checked the time and saw that it was noon already. No wonder he was hungry.

"Hey you, what are you doing here?" A voice called from behind and Wren turned to find his half brother walking towards him.

"Oh hey, Finn. Good to see you-" Finn kicked his stomach, causing Wren to crumble in pain. He groaned and wondered what he had done again to deserve such violence.

"Your boss called and reported you. How dare you sleep at work? Very stupid of you!"

Wren glared at his half brother with eyes filled with rage. It wasn't the first time he would just annoy him like that.

"I already apologized and I'm back to work. It's been a busy day--"

"To hell with that. Whatever. I need you to be home early today, okay? At least, 6pm."

Wren frowned. "But I normally close work by 5:30, and it takes at least two hours before I get home."

"I don't care, you fool! Be home by 6pm, or you're dead!" With that, he stormed off angrily.

Wren stared to the ground and for a while, his vision blurred as tears gathered in his eyes. No, he was not a weakling. He won't cry.

He had been saving up for as long as he could remember, and after the good news the day before, he was confident his life would no longer be miserable. Being a 17 years old with no parent of love, his life as sure been miserable as hell.

But soon, he would gather his life savings and travel away from his step parent home. He already made enquiries and his traveling process would be ready in just two days time. Finally, his life of misery would be over.

Since Wren was a talented artist, he had been selected to be amongst five lucky winners for an art competition. His life is sure about to change for the best.

He wiped his tears and decided to go get his burgers. Halfway to the road, a loud noise rang from almost nowhere. Then all a sudden, it was already too close to him.

Before he could adjust his pacing, a flash light shone blindly in his eyes, and then...everything became dark.

He was on a green field blessed with luscious grass so when he laid on the ground, it was as though he was on a very comfortable bed.

Wren opened his eyes as he inhaled soft enriching air. Wait, this was not New York!

He jumped to his feet and saw that he was in a very distant area. Something caught his eyes. Instead of just one sun, there were three mighty stars who's light all combined was not as mighty as the sun on the planet he knew of, but it was sufficient. He frowned as he studied his environment.

Where was he? What happened to him? Was he in heaven already?

After walking a few distance to the front, Wren met himself inside a village. The environment seemed clean enough, but also very ancient.

The ruins of some buildings were already so old he feared they could one day collapse. People moved about minding their businesses but he was more surprised at what they were putting on.

Medieval clothes? He thought in his head. He kept walking forward. Somehow, the whole vicinity seemed familiar to him. Every step his feet carried him to take was where he knew. He arrived at a wide area where there were fewer people in sight.

There was a mighty castle just in front with guards blocking the entrance. Somehow, they didn't seem to intimidate him too! He didn't understand how, but he had a feeling that if he stepped inside, he would be allowed to walk through the gates because he was welcomed in there.

Before he could take one more step, he felt eyes on him from behind. Why did he have to turn his back?

Three bogus eyes with an icy stare in them fell on him, and skin as dark and thick as rock made the rest of the monster's body. It looked like a rhino at first glance, but it wasn't.

Rhinos had just two eyes. And they didn't have...wings?

Now he was starting to get suspicious of it's intimidating stare. He aimed to take fewer steps backwards until he was close to the palace so he could run inside, but it was as if the monster could hear his thoughts. It made growling noises and then, before Wren could count to three, the monstrous creature took to its heels and chased the hell out of him.
