The Council Recruitment (3)

"Okay, everyone calm down." Erika said to the new students.

And after everyone became quieter, Hana started. "So, as you have seen in the message, you are the students who got selected to be the new members of the Student Council—"

"Yeah!" Some of the children immediately cheered while clapping. To be honest it's normal. But since Hana heard Fio mocking them about how funny they were, she had mixed feelings about it.

"Yea, yea, okay. Calm down please." Said Erika again. "You may be feeling excited about this. But being a council is actually a heavy labour. Even with magic, handling every affair in this school takes a lot of effort. And a big responsibility."

The atmosphere became serious again after she said that. But it was ruined again when she looked back at Hana and Fio. "...Guys, please." Erika grunted.

That was actually the cue for Hana to set a new slide on the screen. But of course Fio was busy meddling her. "Fi, seriously!" Only after a lot of effort, Hana finally could take the control back and set the right slide that showed the number of divisions the council had.

"Okay, phew! So as of now, the council has about 37 divisions. And if we include the subdivisions, we have roughly about 50." Hana explained again and everyone started whispering here and there because they didn't know it was that many.

"It looks a lot, yes. But as Erika said, the council takes care of everything in this school, so it was actually barely enough." She added. "Not just the students' affairs, school maintenance, accountants, and every other affairs also included in our job."

"So now the most important thing is, which division you will work on." Erika talked again. "Each division's needs vary from one another. So we already gave you 2 recommendations about which division would need your abilities."

Hana nodded her head to Erika, and she continued. "We just sent it. You can check your phone now." She said. "The explanations for each division have also been attached to it."

Everybody immediately got busy checking their phones. But after some time, some people started making doubtful faces with their limited options. Not Mary though.

"What did you get?" Alisa asked.

"Event division and Security division." Mary answered happily. "You?"

"Secretary division and… Magic controlling division." Alisa answered with a doubtful face too. Secretary division sounded familiar, but the other definitely didn't. "Do you know what division that is? Magic controlling division."

"Hm, not really. Why don't you check the attachment too--"

"So…" But then there was someone raising their hand. "We can only choose from these two?" He asked.

"Yes."

"And we can't even ask to join another division?"

"No--"

"Actually, you can." Fio suddenly answered too. "Right?" He continued to Hana.

Hana was a little displeased. But since he already mentioned that, now she had to explain it. "Well, beside those two, you'll also get the option to join the Supervisory division. You'll get access to the council forum to report stuff, but there is no demand at all and it's up to you when to do it."

"It barely has any job, so for people who felt burdened to join the council at all may also choose this one." Hana added with even a sadder tone.

"But, you have to remember that it was a non executive division." Loki quickly added. "Meaning, you also won't get any special benefit the other members would." He said and the whole room immediately became noisy again with a more displeased tone.

But unlike the others, Alisa didn't really get what he meant by that. "What benefits were he talking about?"

"A lot!" Mary answered excitedly. "Like payments, free stuff and all."

"Wait. We get paid??"

"Occasionally, but yes!" Mary answered again. "And not only that, we'll also have so much access normal students don't get. We can even enter the west area since the council building was there. And not just nice, the street says that place is like 'google building' nice."

"That nice?"

"That nice!!"

"And not only that." Said Fio again suddenly as if he was listening to their conversation. "For those of you who want to be Vip members, you better choose a nice division to impress our picky president--"

Bugh! Crack! Boom!

"..."

Happened in a blink of an eye, Hana suddenly dragged Fio away from the podium and disappeared backstage. Some people can even swear that they saw Hana try to break Fio's neck.

Everyone was still confused after that murder scene, but then Erika forcedly took over the briefing again. "Well, anyway. You'll have a few hours to choose the division until midnight. So choose carefully and see you tomorrow. Briefing dismissed!"
