Kai Chiasaki stood alone in his lab. He had been waiting for his followers to retrieve something for him, something he thought would help in his research concerning his dead boss's granddaughter, Eri. He had seen her as the key to achieving his goal, but with the amount of blood he was taking, he realized she could die before he reached the amount of quirk-killing bullets he needed; something he couldn't allow. However, Eri was healing too slowly, and he needed something to speed the process up. Once he had possibly found it after hearing of a meteor crash site, he sent a containment group to the crash to look around; as of right now, they were taking longer than expected.
Kai absentmindedly fiddled with a large, tubular container on one of the lab tables; he didn't like how things were taking so long, but he was a patient man when it came to his mission. At one end of the lab stood a glass window showing into the next room, where Eri quietly sat on a small bed, bandages around her arms and legs. A circular metal window-like device could be seen on the glass.
Suddenly, the doors to the lab burst open as the team came through, all of them wearing white hazmat suits which were now dirtied from being in the crater. Two of them carried a silver, metal box in between them.
"Well?" Kai asked.
"You're in luck, sir" said one of the goons holding the crate, "We got one."
"Show me" Kai ordered, and the two men set the box down while a third knelt down, undid the latches, and carefully opened the box as Kai looked in to see a black mass of moving goo moving around in a chilled glass container built within the box. Kai smiled under his mask, the brought the tubular container over.
"Well done" he said as he pressed a button on the tube. He then nodded to the men to open the glass container in the crate. The containers opened at the same time as the black mass shot out, only to be sucked into the tube thanks to the tech built into it.
Chiasaki slammed the tube shut, gripping it tightly as the goo struggled around inside.
"A symbiote" he mused, "a most mysterious yet powerful entity. This will do nicely for the project."
"I can take it for you, sir" a goon offered.
"I'd prefer to do this myself, thank you" Kai replied. He then walked over to the room where Eri was held and placed the tube on the metal window. Turning the handle to lock it in, he then hit a button on the tube, letting the symbiote into Eri's room. Eri noticed the mass as it approached, but it seemed more curious than threatening. She slowly reached out to it as it touched her hand before suddenly seeping into her skin as it bonded. Scared, Eri grabbed her arms in shock before stopping as a voice in her head spoke, "Who…are you?"
Kai smirked from the other end of the glass as he watched; things just took a turn for the better…or so he thought.
