New York City was a very diverse town. Colors decorated the buildings of Times Square and many other buildings are so unique they stand out from everything else. Only one of these buildings had both uniqueness and vibrant color, Avengers Tower. Standing over the rest of the city, Avengers Tower was a beacon of hope for the people; they knew they were safe as long as it, and the heroes who lived inside, still stood. One of the rooms of the Tower was a massive laboratory where Tony Stark, aka. Iron Man, worked on various projects. However, the one working in the lab right now was not Tony.
He was a young man, about sixteen years old. He had a lighter complexion, blue eyes, and jet black hair which was spiked up and slightly forward. He wore a solid black t-shirt and jeans, though his shoes were armored boots, which he had made and was now trying on.
"Perfect. This will go with the rest of the armor." He said, removing the boots and placing them with the rest of the armor he had built. This was Tony's son: Anthony Stark II. He was inspired to be a hero by his father, but instead of wanting to inherit the Iron Man title, he decided to go his own route, which led him to creating this particular suit of armor. As he was staring at his armor with pride, his phone began buzzing. Looking at the screen, Anthony smiled and answered it, going into a video chat with a girl with light brown skin and eyes.
"Hi, Anthony." The girl said.
"How's it going Kamala?" Anthony answered.
"Not much," Kamala replied, "Just called to see what you were up to. Is it that "project" of yours again?"
"Yeah. Just putting the finishing touches on it now."
"Wow, you finished that quick."
"Yeah, Thor was pretty generous with the Asgardian metal he got a hold of. I had enough to start pretty quickly."
"Nice! So, can I see it?"
"Not yet, it's not fully assembled. I can show you this though." Saying this, Anthony donned one of the armored gauntlets and walked over to the weapons testing section of the lab.
"I decided to use dad's repulsor tech, but I also took it a step further." Anthony said, raising the gauntlet at a target, as well as flipping the camera around so Kamala could see it in action.
"Obviously, there's standard repulsor," here he fires a repulsor blast at the target, "But then there's also a more heavy duty version I created." At this, the gauntlet begins to transform into an arm cannon and fires a massive laser at the target, nearly obliterating it. Judging by the way Kamala gasped, Anthony could tell she was impressed.
"That's so cool. I can't wait to see it in action." she said.
"Agreed." Anthony replied, "It's more energy efficient too, so hopefully we won't have a rerun of what happened last time."
Kamala nodded, remembering the time they first met. Anthony, then in a prototype battle armor, had gone to help Kamala, aka. Ms. Marvel who was struggling against another of the Inventor's experimental creatures. The suit had run out of power during the fight and both he and a wounded and exhausted Kamala had to find cover until backup arrived. They had the chance to bond afterwards, and soon started dating after that.
"So, how about you? What've you been up to lately?" Anthony asked.
"Oh, the usual. Saving the world while also trying to save my own grades in school." Kamala laughed. Anthony laughed too; he knew full well that being a superhero at their age was no easy task. Kamala looked somewhere off screen, then she turned back to the camera.
"I gotta go. Family business." She said.
"Understood. I'll catch ya later!" Anthony said.
"Love you!" Kamala said before hanging up. Anthony smirked; Kamala was a pretty cute gal to be around and he enjoyed her company. Putting the phone down, he walked back over to his creation and began to set it up, piece by piece until a full suit of armor stood before him. It looked like his father's Iron Man armor, but mixed with a tank. It was far bulkier and slightly taller, with a massive assault cannon on each shoulder. The gauntlets also had heavy machine guns that concealed into the arms, and that was only the visible tech.
All Anthony had to do now was finish the paint job. Inspired by the Silver Centurion armor, he had painted this suit's faceplate a similar red and silver. Finishing the paint on the body, he had done mostly red, but with streaks of both gold and silver complementing each other. In the case of the gauntlets, he painted the top of the forearms gold, but with a silver outline. Anthony stood back to admire his now finished work.
"Perfect," he finally said, "And now, for the test run."
Suiting up into the armor, Anthony opened up the launch doors of the lab.
"LET'S DO THIS!!" he shouted, activating the thrusters on his armor. After a few seconds, he shot off into the sky, cheering as he did. Flying high over the city, he looked down on the people below him. Just then he saw a small crowd running as something large and grey charged right into Times Square, wreaking havoc. A red figure was following close behind.
"Looks like I get to test my weapons too." Anthony said to himself as he flew down to get a closer look. What he saw wasn't very good; it was the villain, Rhino. Somehow, he had escaped prison again and was charging through New York, causing his usual destruction. The red figure was, unsurprisingly, Spider-Man, who was doing his best trying to hold Rhino back while getting people out of the way. Anthony flew down and landed some distance in front of Rhino charging up one of his gauntlet's weapons. When Rhino got close enough, Anthony drove his fist forward, his Power Fist at full charge. The fist slammed into Rhino's gut, sending him flying backwards and flat onto the pavement. Spider-Man landed next to Anthony.
"Thanks for the backup," he said, massaging his arms.
"You good, Spidey?" Anthony asked.
"Yeah, it's just that beefy over there was kinda killing my arms after dragging my sorry behind through Queens. So, this is your new suit, huh?"
"Yup. Whatya think?"
"Pretty nice actually. Sorta looks as if War Machine decided to fuse with a second tank."
"That's kinda the point."
Just then, Rhino got back up and stomped on the pavement after seeing Anthony.
"You," he growled, "No one stops Rhino! Who do you think you are!?"
Anthony deployed the guns on his wrists and shoulders: "The name…is Artillery." He replied, "And this is where your rampage ends, bonehead."
Rhino stomped harder: "NO ONE CALLS RHINO A BONEHEAD!!!!" and then charged at the two heroes.
"Your loss." Artillery said, and then opened fire, blasting Rhino with the biggest barrage of missiles and lasers the villain had ever taken before. The force of the attack was so great, Rhino began to stumble back.
"Spidey, your window's open!" Artillery shouted. Spider-Man wasted no time swinging up and spinning a massive web around Rhino, effectively trapping him. With Rhino tied up on the pavement, Artillery stowed away his guns. Spidey walked up and high fived him.
"Thanks for saving my skin there," Spidey said, "Who knows how much more damage he would have caused if you hadn't stepped in."
"Don't mention it," Artillery replied, "Heroes always gotta help each other out sometime. Anyways, I gotta get back to the tower. My dad's gonna want to see this."
"Well, see ya later, chief, I can handle the press form here!" Spidey said, as Artillery took off back towards Avengers Tower, waving back at Spidey. As he flew back to the tower, he was thankful that there were other heroes that he could count on like Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel to join a fight when one hero cannot win alone.
