Chapter 2

"I don't know…" Josh looked at the hand of the guy which was lit in the fire.

Somehow, he felt that he is quite tall compared to the guys here. It was an unfamiliar feeling. He knew that he was around 187 cm tall, and he was fit.

"Are you a running slave?" asked the man as the fire in his hand got brighter.

Josh raised both of his hands and took a step backwards. While talking, his brain was working faster than usual.

It's like he could process thoughts way faster than he was in his first life.

Now, he felt something familiar when the guy had asked what is he doing here in the name of the fire lord. The guy was clodded in red armour, and he was making fire from thin air.

It must be Avatar: The Last Air Bender based world.

But a few things didn't make sense.

Since when did they have slaves?

"He is lying." One of them pointed his finger at the bones of the wolf. "He must be hiding here after running away." He then pointed at his legs. "And the wounds on his thighs… Damn man, are you a monkey!"

Josh looked between his legs. Seems a perfect stick for One Piece kind of girls. Letting a sigh, he said. "I'm not complaining."

"Enough with the jokes! What's your name?" The guard seemed not to be enjoying what seemed a peasant's humour.

Josh thought for a bit. His name doesn't sound fit for this world. He should just use a random name like someone from this world.

'There is Iroh… I should choose a similar name."

"I'm Raoh." Said Josh, changing his name into Raoh.

"Be careful. He could kill this blue wolf and he doesn't seem to have a weapon."

"What a savage. He ate him too."

Everyone looked at Raoh as if he is a barbarian beast.

"Given his blue eyes, I can tell he is from the Water Tribe."

"But he has fair skin, and he is tall."

"He is a mixed race. Either case, he must be a captured slave."

" Let's take him back to the mines of the Earth Kingdom."

"Mmm… excuse me?" Having few questions in his mind, Josh raised his hand.

This seems like the Avatar world, but not exactly.

They don't have slaves. If memory served him well, Avatar Aang never found a slave on his journey.

"Shut the hell up!" one of the soldiers pointed a spear at him. The tip of the blade was just one inch from piercing Raoh's neck.

Half closing his eyes, he looked at their eyes. They didn't seem to be affected, but the lizards hesitated for a second. Animals were more direct with their instincts.

Josh was ready to fight. But although he has Observation Haki, he is going against a large number. And they have people who can bend fire.

He didn't trust himself to defeat all of them head-on. And his healing factor consumes the food. His only choice would be to go for lethal strikes. However he doesn't have a weapon, and they do. If someone managed to pierce his brain, he will die. His healing factor can't revive him.

And even if he manages to kill them, he will lose his way.

The odds didn't seem to be in his favour whether he won or lost.

Besides, his body isn't at its peak. He also doesn't know what his previous powers are.

"Yeah… you caught me. I surrender. I'm just exactly what you said." Raoh said. His job in his first life as Josh was a lawyer. He doesn't mind playing dirty. As far as he learnt, those who play the victim are the true wolves. He decided to be one.

Getting on his knees, he bowed his head. "I regret ever going against you. Please forgive me. I just heard that my son was alive, and I couldn't help but be tempted."

Somehow, his words, his tone, and the way he breathed between words displayed his sadness and regret.

"Next time you leave, we'll make sure that you and your son be beheaded. Understood!"

'Can't believe that I'll do it…' Raoh sighed internally. He lowered his head and said. "Please, just kill me and leave him out of this!"

'Okay, take me to the city, I need clothes and food.' That's his real goal from surrendering.

One of the men got down, took Raoh's hands, and tied them in the back while avoiding looking down.

"My poor son… I thought he is alive!" Raoh stuck to his story. If you want someone to believe your lie, don't change your story. Just keep acting according to it.

"Shut up!" shouted the man at him.

Raoh nodded slowly.

Soon, the fire nation guys forced him to wear cheap brown pants. They tied his hands to the lizard, and when they moved, Josh was forced to walk backwards, at a very fast speed. If not, he will just be dragged.

Guards were known to be sadistic. It's more likely that sadists were the ones to choose military and jail jobs. That's why they seemed to want to enjoy torturing him. Raoh, on the other hand, didn't seem to be lacking behind. He was running back and it annoyed the soldier on the top of the lizard. But even when the latter changed his movement pattern, Raoh seemed to get along with it without falling. He had one idea in his head.

'Okay. I too have my muscle memory…' He thoughts while looking at his feet moving backwards. Sometimes, he would just jump a bit to dodge a rock or some spikes, which he was direct to by his capturer. He wanted to go and kill him, but he simply kept his feelings to himself and considered it as a workout.

After some hours, he found himself in front of large gates, which represented a city.

Josh turned his head, seeing some guards which wore green clothes. They started dancing while moving their hands.

The large rock gates started moving on their own, opening for them.

'Earth benders and fire benders…? Something seems off.'
