Chapter 31

Thomas looks into the camera and waits for Neo to point at him.

He takes a deep breath and breathes out slowly, "Travis, people of The City, aren't you tired of al this bloodshed? We attack because the SGA would not and will not leave us alone! We are a threat to them, we are abnormal with our abilities. We are monsters to them. We will not give in, if you want peace, lay down your arms. But we are going to finish what the SGA started, we are going to end this war once and for all. They hide and take what they want because if it's not their way, then they will force it to be. I'm not letting that happen. They've tried to take us down with people they placed into our lives, people we have considered family for many years. These are the people The City is fighting for?"

Selina storms in and pushes Thomas aside, two security guards hurry over but as Thomas, as he leaves the camera's view, he holds up a hand to stop them.

Selina stands in front of the camera. Anger and hatred, so defiant on her face.

"One of the people I've known since I was 19, almost killed one of the only people I will ever trust. I'm speaking for myself, not the Syndicate. If you stand against me, you're my enemy. But I will still aim for your surrender. If you lie to me, betray me...you may think you have a leg up, you may have your gun already at the back of my head. I promise, I will end you. I'm tired of pain and war and death. But I will protect my home, no matter the cost. Are you protecting a home? Or are you simply protecting the apartment that the SGA is lending to you?"

Neo turns off the camera and throws a hand out, reaching to Selina.

"And that was one heck of a finish. Well done guys, Selina? I'm with you till the end." She says,

Selina looks at Thomas as she starts away, "I'm proud of you. We'll take them down." He says,

He, Neo and Selina go to the infirmary and join Toni and Atlas at Ashe's side.

"How's she doing?" Neo asks,

"Considering everything? Really well." Toni says,

Toni looks at Selina, her face turns to anger. "Selina, I want Travis's head on a platter."

Selina states back, "Me too."

"Me first."

"Ashe!" Atlas says,

Neo gently grabs her hand. "Hey. Welcome back."

"Did we win?"

"You are a beast Ashe." Atlas chuckles,

She winces and smirks, "Tips?" She asks, her smile fades,

"Dead." Turner says,

They look at Tinker and Turner standing in the doorway.

"Guys."

Atlas hurries over and hugs them tight, they smile and hug back. "Good to see ya man." George says,

"We came to get you guys." Tinker says,

"What's going on?" Ashe asks,

"You'll want to see it for yourself. Briefing in an hour." Tinker says,

"Sorry Ashe. Seeing as how your still injured." Turner says,

"We need to find Harvey!" Atlas says,

Tinker raises a hand, "We found him. But you won't like where he is."

"Where?"

"Convoy Military Base, it's been turned into a hospital after all these years."

Selina laughs and shakes her head, "Obviously, it had to be a place crawling with Soldiers and machines."

"You're sure Harvey is there?" Toni asks,

"We're positive, they have a lot of POW's there."

"We need to get him out." Atlas says,

"What's worse, a lot of citizens of The City are defending it."

Neo groans, "Ugh! We had surprise for the invasion, it'll take forever to take the rest of this stupid country!"

Atlas slowly turns to Turner and George. "Unless...."

"Unless?" Toni says,

"Unless we had something, something to really show them how cruel they are."

Tinker's eyes widen, "Atlas, you'll be throwing yourself out there for everyone to see."

"The only people that don't know are civilians or SGA members below the pay grade. Let's show them how much mercy the SGA provides."

"It will definitely give a statement." Selina says,

"Let's upload it." Atlas says,

"Get on it." Ashe says softly,

"Okay, one last thing? This, next part, does not leave this room, there isn't enough for everyone."

Neo takes a syringe out of her pocket and shoved it into Ashe's thigh. Ashe shrieks and grabs her leg. She groans as the liquid disappears into her leg.

Neo pulls it out and looks to see Ashe glaring at her, murdering Neo with her eyes.

"It's a healing agent. Whatever injury you have, you'll heal in a matter of seconds, we have three left. We are trying to replicate it. Is in this room, a few of our scientists and Thomas know about it."

Neo glances at Selina, Selina however shows no emotions.

"It works out. Ashe's physical state wasn't made aware to anyone yet."

Ashe sits up and pats her waist, "Whoa."

"Right?"

"I still hate you." Ashe says to Neo,

Neo smirks, "You're welcome."

"I want to be there with Atlas when the video is released."

"Agreed, you are the face, show off a friend." Thomas says walking in,

Turner looks at Thomas, the door closed behind him. "Can you teach me that?"

"What?"

"How you-"

Turner jabs a finger at him, "fricken enter a room like a dang ghost man!"

Toni snorts, "Turner, you wish you were that slick."

"Maybe I am." Turner says,

"Ashe, you are g-"

"No! I will only do one more speech, with Atlas. After that, film me all you want, I'm done talking. We've talked and they fire and we talk and they fire."

Atlas smiles, "Let's make the video and work on getting Harvey out."
