Chapter 10

"Who is tired of this boring night and wants to hear some awesome music?!" Toni shouts into her microphone,

Everyone around looks at her and Parker. Most of them start over to the makeshift stage that Toni and Parker have comendeered.

"I'm Rickie, this is Slayer and we are here to rule this night!" She cheers,

She looks back at Parker, "Krewella first, Greenlights."

He smiles, "I love this song." he whispers,

"Let's gooo!"

Shadow and Ashe can hear the music from the tower. Ashe smiles, and waits for the song to end.

"Toni, you are so singing for music night." Ashe whispers,

Toni smirks, she could barely make out what she said over the cheering of the crowd that has gathered.

"What?! You impressed?!"

It's a mix of voices and cheering. "You've heard us rock! Let's slow it down a bit!"

While Parker works the sound board, Toni starts singing Darkside by Alan Walker.

"We're not in love. We share no stooories, just something in your eyyyyes. Don't be afraid. The shadows know me. Let's leave the world behiiiind. Take! Me! Through the night! Fall in, tooo the darksiiii-iiide! We don't-"

Ashe and Shadow run up the stairs, finally making it to the correct floor. They lean against the wall, catching their breath.

"So if there are people in there?"

"There will be, we take them down."

"What about Atlas?"

"Doesn't matter, this is more important. We destroy those files, nothing gets in our way. Rip em down Ashe."

"You scare the heck outta me, you know that?"

Shadow looks at her and waits, Ashe nods. "Alright, I'm ready."

Shadow was genuinely just intimidating and a mysterious woman. Most in the Syndicate didn't even know what her face looked like. She hid it with a gas mask, one big piece of one way, reinforced parstin(which plastic with the strength of plastic being reinforced three times over). She could see out but no one could see anything, she wears black shemagh, tight black shirt, tight black combat pants and black boots. A true ghost in the night.

"Wait five seconds, exactly."

"Wait, how do you know that's not too long?"

"I'll make it so."

Shadow sends a copy through the door, as it separates, her body becomes faded and see through, then she gets up and walks through the solid door and merges with her copy on the other side.

Shadow looks around the office floor. "Hey! Stop!"

Shadow looks at the man and waits for him to charge her, she then runs at him, she throws her hand down, the karambit knife spins in the air, she grabs it. The man gasps and stops, she doesn't she tackles him.

She rolls forward with him, stops on top of him and slams the knife down into his skull. She rips it out. Just in time.

Bang-bang-bang!

She guessed it already and rolls sideways into a cubicle. She aerials over the wall into the other cubicle.

She stays down and phases diagonally forward, through the cubicles. She spins faster than the man can turn.

She rams the blade into the side of his throat and pushes, switching places with him.

The third guard holds up his pistol, trying to get a clear shot. The injured man gags and weakly grabs the knife with one hand and his throat with the other.

Hes going to drop, she can feel it, she waits for him to do so. But just before, Ashe throws open the door, it bangs against the wall.

The guard jumps and looks back, giving Shadow enough time to aerial over her victim, grab a throwing blade and as she lands, throws it into the third guards back.

He yells out and fires at the ground, completely missing Ashe, she jumps. Shadows rips her karambit knife out of the guards neck, spins and shoves it deep into his chest and rips it out again.

She walks over to the struggling third security guard. She stabs him twice with her karambit knife, she cleans that knife and her throwing blade on his clothes and sheaths her weapons.

Ashe stands there, wide eyed. "Holy sh-"

"No swearing. Not in front of me, I need you to do something."

Ashe jolts and half out of fear, runs to Shadow's side. Shadow takes out two small black sticks and hands them to her.

"Put them on our side of the stairwell door and the elevator."

"Sh-sha-these are claymores." Ashe mutters softly,

"Yeah."

Shadow switches off her radio, "We don't need to worry Parker and Toni, this is a set up."

Ashe's eyes widen. She hurries to switch off her radio, "They knew?!"

"I'm sure they were counting on it, but this is a level 4 computer over here."

"So?!"

Shadow walks to the computer and starts typing in the keyboard. "Calm down. With the claymore, we got enough time to hack into their system. We've always ran. They won't expect anything more. We can hack into their system here and steal a little proof for that Ali guy."

"....Atlas."

"Whatever, go place the claymore, we got maybe thirteen minutes."

Ashe curses under her breath and rushes to the stairway. Shadow hacks into their system within seven minutes and now searches for anything they can use.

She sticks in a hard drive and downloads the security footage of Ashe and Shadow, then deletes the footage on the computer system, she then searches their system.

She smiles and scoffs, Ashe walks over, her jaw drops.

"You're already in?"

"Yeah it rerouted me to faulty systems twice. But this is the real one."

"How can you be sure?"

"Think of their system...like a city. A big one, we can only see so much at a time right? On the others I could see everything. They weren't the real ones."

"Well...guess they weren't counting in you."

"No they weren't."

Her head pops up in realization and shock, Ashe jumps and follows her gaze to the wall.

"Oh shhhhoot."

"What?" Ashe asks,

Shadow begins breathing fast, "Go to the window!"

"Wha-"

"That window right there! Tell me what you see down below, directly down!"

Ashe runs over and does as instructed. "I-I don't see anything!"

"Ashe looks everywhere! Rooftops too!"

"For what Shadow?"

"RPG's."

Ashe slowly turns and looks at Shadow who doesn't look away from the screen, she seems to type faster...if you can believe it.

"Go on now!" shadow shouts,

Ashe shakes hard and turns again, searching every rooftop and the streets around them.

Shadow finds where they think the Syndicate HQ is, but it's wrong, soooo wrong. She deletes it anyway, either way it works in their favor. She finds what she was looking for, to win over that Atle or Altas dude. Yeah Ashe said his name was Atlas.

"Uh-Uh Shadow two o'clock."

Shadow stands to look out the window. Her heart jumps, she doesn't have time for anymore. She rips the hard drive out and runs at Ashe.

"Ashe phase us through!"

Ashe's eyes widen, "Ugh!"

Shadow tackles Ashe, they go through the window, but no glass breaks.

BOOM!

They both look up as they fall. Shadow latches on to Ashe and throws her kunai with a cable attached to it.

The knife sinks deep into the wall between floors.

"Uh-shadow!"

Debris falls fast around them.

"Focus Ashe!"

Ashe looks down, the cable pulls, temporarily stopping them from falling. They swing into the real dimension again. As the kunai is struck and comes lose. Shadow cuts the rope and they both hit the floor hard.

"Ugh...Ashe, I'm really happy you can control the mirror dimension." Shadow mutters,

Ashe groans and rolls to her back, she switches on her radio, "If you aren't running Toni, run."

The two breathe heavily and groan, they slowly scramble to their feet and make for the stairs.

Atlas watches the pieces of the building fall. He made it through the crowd and recognized the lead singer, but he didn't want to make a huge scene.

She was a distraction. When he looks back Toni and the guy on her sound effect board are gone.

Atlas feels so incredibly stupid, he watches as people scream and run back and forth. He runs his hands through his hair. He rushes over to where the debris fell, to make sure no one is hurt.

He hates the Syndicate, they just put lots of people in danger. If they are so good, how could they do this?!
