Unboxing the gifts Part 3

Standing in front of the glass wall, Athena looked at her seemingly weak and soft little hands and smiled lightly when she thought of the power they truly held. For the person she was before, it was just a faraway notion to hold so much power herself.

She was weak and she knew it better than anyone. But now each time she clenched those little fists and felt their might she couldn't help but feel conflicting emotions like happiness, fear, determination, hesitation, confidence, etc... Even though she knew it was just the starting line and she was going to hold much greater power in the future, Athena couldn't help it.

 She has already guessed that she was going to react weirdly at each new experience she would have but she couldn't know it was going to be to such an extent. As she was starting to be drowned by her confusion, a powerful voice rang through her mind.

PRINCESS OF NOTHINGNESS YOU ARE UNBOUNDED, UNDEFEATABLE.

Hearing those words, Athena felt clear-minded. She loosened her fists, closed her eyes, and let her power ran wild within her while taking deep breaths. When she opened her eyes, all trace of confusion has disappeared, replaced by the usual intelligent and confident glint that always filled her eyes.  

With her bloodline and constitution, Athena was confident about gaining power. However, she knew that power wasn't only about battle prowess. It was also about Knowledge. Without the proper knowledge, she would only end up as a muscle head and that would bring shame to the name Athena. After all, she was the goddess of wisdom.

That leads to the following gifts, the instant learning ability, and the perfect memory. The instant learning ability she received was an eye power called Divine Eye of Knowledge and Wisdom. When the eyes activated for the first time her already beautiful and mesmerizing black eyes became more stunning. Her pupils became like two black holes able to devour everything, her iris seem to turn into a starry sky painted in various colors by an aurora borealis and the rest of her eyes seem to be covered by faint and beautiful runic patterns.

 As for Athena herself, she once again entered a strange state. This time, the world seems to lost all of its colors and she felt like she could see through anything with a single glance, it was like she could discover all the secrets of the universe as long as she tried hard enough. Unfortunately, this state didn't last long and everything around her regained its normal appearance. Panting lightly as she was a little exhausted by this mystical experience, Athena regained her bearing and look at how those eyes of her work.

It turns out that they did exactly what they are expected to the way they are to do it. First, as long as she has a manual about a skill and went through it she will understand it instantly and be able to perform the skill. Second, she would instantly gain an understanding and learn any skills or techniques performed in front of her. The only downside was that she won't be mastering the skills but would only be able to perform the basic form of the skill. If she wanted to master a skill she won't be able to escape the training phase. Also if the skills require some particular characteristics to be performed, she wouldn't be able to perform them.

"Sigh, maybe I should have asked for an instant mastery ability instead. " Athena complained a little bit.  

However, learning was not the only use of those eyes as they also have a use in battle. She gained something akin to a spiritual sense allowing her to perfectly see everything in a 5 meters radius around her. She was also immune against any form of mind manipulation or illusion techniques.

Satisfied with the Divine Eyes of Knowledge and Wisdom abilities, Athena went to check the perfect memory. The way she was granted this wish was different, it was one separate gift but the result of a combined effect of the gift she already received. With her bloodline, constitution and Divine Eyes, Athena's mental capacity is already off the chart. With the effects of those three, Athena could already remember everything she experienced and learn without a problem. The only thing that was added here was granting complete control over those memories. Like that she could remember something whenever she wants to and just get rid of memories she found unpleasant.

" Ah that Voice is doing a good job here, I couldn't possibly ask for more. Its ability of copying seems to make assimilation obsolete but it's not truly the case. With assimilation, I could get all the skills of someone I defeat and copy bloodline power while with the Divine Eyes the ability need to be displayed before me. The voice really thinks of everything. " Athena said, praising the voice. However, the next instant Athena take her praise back when she saw what was waiting for her in place of her last gift.

Athena was looking forward to getting her hands on the Gate of Babylon of Gilgamesh. She always found it badass how Gilgamesh made countless battle gears rain upon his enemy while smugly looking at them. Athena couldn't wait to make her enemy went through the same ordeal but when she tried to look for it all she found was a mocking message of the voice.

"Go and look for it yourself. Bye"

When she heard those words, Athena was so pissed off that she started spewing fire while cursing the voice.

"That's how you want to play uh. Just wait I will sure go to get it and bash you with it. " she said while looking towards the sky.

After cursing a little more she finally calmed down, feeling a little embarrassed by her shameless and ungrateful display. You don't go around cursing your benefactor for a single unwanted gift that you don't even need. " Hehe, luckily there is nobody here otherwise I don't know in which hole I would hide to avoid embarrassment."  

Unfortunately for Athena, there was indeed someone that witnessed how ungrateful and shameless she could be. But that person wasn't going to say anything since she had to protect her master's honor. Staying silent, she continues to observe her master, making sure to remember anything worthy of attention about her.

Oblivious, to the fact that someone was looking at her, Athena looked at her last ability, the most important one and the one she would use the least. Once she became the strongest person in a world or beat up the strongest person in a world, she just needs to activate it and she will be transported randomly towards another world, a link will also be left in each world she conquered, the link could only be used to travel back in a world she has left only one time.

"While the random thingy is annoying, I guess I don't have the choice." Athena said as she once again jumped on the bed and let herself melt in it.
