As Silent As A Mouse

I am being hunted. Well, not me exactly. Someone wants to get their hands on the genius behind A.M.K Pharmaceuticals. They just don't know it's me. I have discovered a way to negate anyone's scent, shifter or human. You would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal... deodorants promise the same thing, but my product is nothing like that. My product turns its wearers invisible to shifters. No, not like that. But shifters need scent more than almost anything else to identify and find a person. Without scent, they can't track down their prey, or smell an enemy coming up from behind. I had originally created it so my adopted father and I could avoid the shifter community. No one was supposed to know about it. Until a little birdy said something they shouldn't have to the wrong person. Now the humans are after me and the shifters want me dead. But that's fine. That wasn't the only thing I came up with. And if I am as silent as a mouse, no one will see me coming until it is too late. This will be a RH novel, the FMC will not have to choose. Who Won?

"I'm going," I said for the hundredth time, my arms crossed in front of me as I glared at Travis.

"No, you aren't," he replied, his stance copying my own, his eyebrow raised in challenge.

"Yes, I am," I snapped back, already done with this conversation long before we had gotten to this point. He was going to have to learn that while I loved his possessiveness and overprotectiveness, there was a time and a place.

And this was not it.

"Trouble," Travis sighed, relaxing his stance and rubbing his forehead as if he were trying to get rid of a headache. "I can't let you."

Closing my eyes, I took in a deep breath. The rest of the guys knew who I was, Caleb, more than the others, but they never treated me like I was breakable. They just shrugged when I went off and did my own thing, and Caleb made sure that I was still fed and looked after when I didn't look after myself.
