Chapter 17 - Unexpected Encounter

Sasuke teleported back to the Land of Fire and started to head towards The Hidden Leaf Village.

Along the way, he marked many locations and trained a little bit.

He completed half of the journey in just a day due to his Flying Thundergod.

"I should just spend the night at home" Sasuke said as he teleported back to his room which was already occupied by two sleeping beauties.

'They both slept on my bed?' Sasuke approached them and laid down between them after removing the pillow that was acting as the barrier between them.

However, neither of them noticed Sasuke, so he decided not to wake them up. He casted a sealing barrier around them and decided to take a nap.

The next morning, Sasuke woke up to the sound of slurping.

Sasuke started his journey yet again, but this time, he was a bit careful since he didn't want to warn The Root or The Hidden Leaf Village.

He wanted to silently infiltrate the village and looked for The Root Headquarters in the surroundings.

"I'm very close to the village; I guess that it is only around 5km away," Sasuke said as he started to feel some chakras of some ninjas.

Soon, the night fell, but even the darkness of the night couldn't stop Sasuke's advance.

"That's some powerful chakra," Sasuke said as he suddenly looked towards his left and sensed some enormous chakra that didn't belong to anyone he had met yet.

'Is it Danzo? No way it belongs to that loser ' He thought as he slowly closed his distance.

"Henge" Sasuke said as he went into hiding and slowly spied on the target.

"Are we attacking tomorrow?" Konan said as she asked Nagato.

However, instead of answering the question, he looked towards Sasuke's direction but he had already left by then.

"What is it?" Konan asked as she also looked to the place where Nagato was looking.

"Nothing, things will go as planned" Nagato said as he quickly rejected the idea of him being spied on. He is the absolute godly being, how could he not sense a mere ninja?

"System, I could have blitzed them there. Why did you advise me to retreat?" Sasuke complained. He was very close to finishing them both.

"You saved my ass there system. There is no way that I can compromise on my own Rinnegan" Sasuke said as he nodded and realized that retreating was the best option since the next two quests are related to Pain's assault on The Hidden Leaf Village.

"Either way which Full Counter is that?" Sasuke asked. He obviously knew that it belonged to the Seven Deadly Sins anime, but he wasn't sure if it was Meliodas's version of Full Counter or Estarossa's.

"Either way, both of them are overpowered" Sasuke said as he started to search for The Root Headquarters again.

'Wait, why is Pain attacking The Hidden Leaf Village so early? I can still feel the Nine Tails chakra in the village. Did Naruto not leave for the toad mountain to learn sage mode? What went wrong?" Sasuke thought.

Sasuke thought for a while and finally came to a conclusion.

"I changed the future unexpectedly," Sasuke said as he realized that his actions so far have caused the future to change drastically.

"That's fine; as long as I have enough strength, I can deal with any problem," He said confidently.

Soon, he felt a similar chakra near him which was moving rapidly towards his east.

'I wonder when I became a sensory ninja? Somehow, I can feel other's chakras quite easily, especially if it's a person that I have sensed before,' Sasuke thought as he decided to pursue and catch the ninja.

"Sasuke?" Sai said as Sasuke jumped in front of him and trapped him in his genjutsu.

"Now show me where the Root Headquarters is," Sasuke said as he grabbed his neck and extracted the location of The Root Headquarters through his brain by using Sharingan.

However, the moment he extracted the information, Sai's body became lifeless.

"Is he dead?" Sasuke wondered as he poked Sai's unconscious body.
