Soon after the beast left ,my attention was drawn to the grizzly, more accurately the remains of it. Normally I am not a person who eat other's leftovers. But if everything in this forest was at the level of the leopard, then I had no choice. Plus the leopard left an entire leg untouched, and I was not going to waste my chance to get safe food.

After confirming the absence of any beast, jumped from my branch while leaving deep impressions on the moist ground. I landed making me surprised at a ghoul's physical prowess.

I made my way to the bear corpse, lost on how to actually eat the furry animal. The god said that I had to eat raw meat for my kagune, so I had no doubt that my body was capable of eating it normally. Thinking for a while, I used a nearby rock to sharpen a broken rib to my best. Then using it I removed the skin.

I was no expert in hunting, in fact if it was the past me I would have puked at the sight of a dead animal. But as a ghoul, I wasn't at all disgusted. I was salivating at the thought of having a meal to fulfill my growing hunger. After all the hassle, unzipping my mask I sank my teeth into the flesh and my eyes immediately widened in shock. The meat tasted heavenly, I quickly started to devour it like a madman, smearing blood allover my body and face without a care. I was so enraptured on the taste that I forgot the dangers of the forest.

When I was about to finish my meal ,a force equivalent to a speeding truck collided against my back. I was slammed to the ground face first and a piercing pain erupted from my right shoulder. Instinctively I reached to my kakuhou and slammed my elbow back. Feeling the pain reduce I quickly got up tried to identify my attacker. It was a jackal, almost tall as me and quite thin. It was dazed and blood was trickling down from a side of it's head.

I looked at my arms, and to my delight they were both clad in maroon armour with blades at the end. I quickly dashed forward towards the jackal with my koukaku clad right arm raised to eye level, then slashed downward at the dazed animal's neck while moving. Blood splashed and I quickly turned to face the wounded animal only to find it headless.

My one slash had deprived the beast of it's head.
