Arifureta: The Labyrinth Maker vs the World

This is the story about a Labyrinth Master managing his massive Labyrinth while becoming a villain (literally) while causing events, good or bad directly (or indirectly) caused by him to happen. This story isn't just about him, it's about redemption and change, how the world of Tortus will be changed from time to time under the main Protagonist's actions. Don't expect this story to be the same as any other. Note: Canon? We are not following canon, expect new concepts such as Anti-Hero Kouki and a lot more things like Hajime and Kaori being together in the abyss. Oh, did I spoil you?

A Prelude To....

Location: Lower 65th Floor

Oscar looked at the corpses of Kickmaster Rabbits and the other monsters in the area that had fallen to the spells and abilities he and Yue had.

"Yep, they're just small fry." He said, grabbing the foot of a Kickmaster Rabbit before slamming it to the ground. On the distance, a large group of ratmen Miners began going as they were made of: mine and harvest ores at this floor, defended by a Wolf-man Warrior and a few Defender Golems.

"I wonder how their meat would taste like."

"You're serious? Monster meat is dangerous." Yue deadpanned, not believing what crazy things he was going to do next.

"Hmph. It's sad you didn't know how to turn me into a vampire. Would've made me a tad bit more stronger, you know?"

"Nn.... I've forgotten since it was irrelevant at that time, bleh~" Yue replied stoically, gesturing with her fist on her forehead and a wink.

"Seriously..... That sucks.... Let's just move on, I've got a hidden lake of ambrosia to recover."

When asked about it, Oscar simply gestured her to come with him.

The only problem? It took a long while before Oscar dug a deep hole straight down to a pond, accidentally diving towards it.

"Oh, now I'm soaked... Thankfully the water is just below my waist, that's better than not."

Yue flew down using wind magic, landing on the ground near the pond.

At the sight of the soaked Oscar, she let out a gentle chuckle, covering her mouth with her palm before she realized something strange going with the pond.

'Such an enormous amount of mana! So, this is what he was looking for.... The Divine Crystal and the supposed Ambrosia....' Yue commented, observing what was happening in front of her.

"Oscar, is that what you are looking for?"

He responded with an "OK" gesture.

[ Data Updated ]

[ Ambrosia ]

[ Rarity: Gold ]

[ Description: Sacred Water created from the Divine Stone, contains heavily potent mana that rejuvenates the body, and has special effects when drank by monsters. Cannot cure dismemberment but can reattach limbs. ]

[ Can be used to upgrade monsters ]

"Woah, amazing...." Oscar commented, since that meant he finally is capable of upgrading monsters, making them stronger.

Aside from that, there was a large, glowing crystal on the middle of the pond, and with a single silent command, he made the system scan the crystal.

[ Divine Crystal ]

[ Rarity - Rainbow ]

[ Description: A Crystal with incredibly potent and pure mana which could power a state for more than 40 years, created by the Original Oscar Orcus to continuously cultivate and generate mana for over two thousand years. It's purpose was to rejuvenate his body, but he died from old age before it happened.

It could be said that this crystal is way more valuable than it is worth. ]

[ Can be used to upgrade the Labyrinth Core, and you ]

"I should split this in half." He said, taking the crystal from its pedestal and inspected it.

The Divine Crystal was larger than his head, aside from being quite beautiful, nothing else could be said.

After several minutes of harvesting large quantities of Ambrosia in steel tumblers that could contain far more than what it may seem, Oscar looked up.

"Yue, return to the Abode with these. I have something else to do here."

The vampire nodded her head as she carried the tumblers by her arms.

Using Spatial Magic, Oscar cut the air before him twice with his palm, creating a rip in space that led to the Abode.

Yue wordlessly entered the rip in space, before it vanished.

Then Oscar yawned.

"They're here, aren't they?" He said, creating another spacial rip which he entered.

He stepped out into the middle of a large bridge, his presence activating a large magic circle that summoned two types of monsters: an army of hundreds of Traum Soldiers, which were annoying, and the monstrous Behemoth.

Not wasting time, he summoned a few of his monsters, 2 Defender Golems to block the Behemoth, 8 Blade Slaves, and a Wyvern for several purposes.

The two defender Golems appeared to block the path of the Behemoth. Their massive, bulky bodies seemingly capable of blocking it's attacks.

It immediately became annoyed, letting out a low growl while it approached the golems.

Meanwhile, the Wyvern flew by the side of the bridge, prompting Oscar to leap and ride it as his Blade Slaves followed him.

As if knowing what to do, the Wyvern flapped its wings to gain distance from the bridge, not going unnoticed by the Behemoth as it looked completely enraged.

"GOOOAAAA~~~~~!!!!" The Behemoth roared, as incredible amounts of mana erupted from it. Its roar intimidated the wyvern enough for it to retreat a little more, but with a few pats on its neck, the reassuring gaze of its master briefly removed the feat it had.

Suddenly, the two Defender Golems mover into the offensive, taking out large maces in order to attack the Behemoth.

The maces hit the sides of the Behemoth, pushing it backwards and annoying it.

In retaliation, the massive beast raised a heavy claw and struck the shield of one of the Defender Golems, denting it heavily.

But as true guardians, the golems did not falter, instead pushing forward into the offensive.

The battle of these beings is much more like that of an unstoppable force attacking two immovable objects at once.

And they're both equally powerful. For now.

At one time, the two Defender Golems overpowered the Behemoth with a combined offense through swift mace strikes that snapped many bones and damaged the horns of the beast, bruising it many times before it was enraged and entered its "Limit Break" phase, tripling its stats.

And now, the Behemoth ripped apart the shields of the Defender Golems, breaking one of them in half with a cruel, wild charge.

It proceeded to destroy the next Guardian Golem with ease, a burning red rage exuding from it.

Turning towards Oscar, its mouth opened, and mana began forming between its maws.

Sensing immediate danger, the Wyvern quickly flew sideways, evading a continuous beam of energy that would have turned it into ashes.

The beam traced and followed them, while Oscar seemed rather calm with it. He pointed at the Behemoth, and the Blade Slaves that were following him pointed their tips towards the monster.

"Blade Slaves, rip that thing to shreds!"

Abiding to that command, the living swords flew like swift swallows (a type of bird), splitting up in order to zip towards the beast at speeds that break the sound barrier.

In the next few moments, as the Wyvern flew around the Behemoth, it suddenly stopped firing the beam of light when several floating blades cut its skin or stabbed its tendons with superhuman precision.

It roared in pain, barely moving as it fell immediately.

Then, with another command, the Blade Slaves stabbed and cut apart the Behemoth again, with no way for it to fight back.

"Return!"

The living swords returned to his side, covered in the blood of the Behemoth, before spinning rapidly to rip apart the many Traum Soldiers like using a sharpened knife to cut a pasta stick in half.

"Now, Wyvern. Finish him off! He's yours to devour, too since you haven't eaten for a while."

Following that command, the wyvern dove towards the Behemoth, breathing out intense flames as a form of retaliation.

After a while, the Behemoth had been cooked until it was dead.

Oscar leaped away from the Wyvern, landing on the ground with some imperfections. His floating blades stabbing themselves to the ground besides him.

"Right, time to wait-"

And just in time, a certain group of people were teleported to this place, confused and dumbfounded.

"On second thought....."

Honestly, what will their reaction be to someone like him? Of course, he had his own legends passed he will be seen as a villain.

So what could he do about that?

".... I'll just wing this down."
