I felt like I was back in those early days of the apocalypse, running for my life from hordes of monsters.
But this time, it was a monstrous red dragon hot on my heels, spewing fire every few seconds.
The dragon's massive body was covered in shimmering red scales, glinting in the sunlight. Its wings stretched out wide, casting a long shadow over the skyscrapers.
Of course that dragon also crash with the sky scrapper or even destroyed it with fire breath. That thing was huge!
as I ran, I couldn't help but marvel at the chaos all around me. The streets were littered with corpses, and survivors were locked in a fierce battle with all sorts of monsters.
Ahh, what a nostalgic feeling...
How did I get myself into this mess? It all started when I was admiring a magnificent dragon and somehow managed to pissed it off.
I shoot it with Inferno Blast and it land on one of the dragon wings. Making it chasing me like no tomorrow.
There were 100 ways to die in an apocalyptic world, one of them was being burned alive by the dragon. It would make for an epic story, but I wasn't a hero; I was just a survivor trying to make the best of bad decisions.
I could feel the searing heat of the dragon's breath right behind me, making the already sweltering land even hotter. My body was drenched in sweat, yet I felt a chill down my spine.
It was a miracle that the dragon was behind me all this time. Probably it was too high to even differentiate between me and other human beings that also ran with me. So it basically spewed fire everywhere it noticed a human.
The dragon's roar grew louder and closer. It seemed like it was hovering above me, casting a colossal shadow. I was so done with this life. If that dragon unleashed another fiery breath, I was a goner.
But then, I spotted the shattered figure of the Goblin Lord. It was battered and bleeding, missing almost half of it stomach.
Yes, there was a hole in it's right stomach. How the hell that monster still alive!? I know it would regenerate again, like it used to. But what the hell!
The players had five minutes to defeat the Goblin Lord to win the mini-game, but they looks so tired and full of wound. It was hard for them to win.
As I approached them, I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Run away! Get out of this battlefield!"
At first, the players seemed too absorbed in the battle to react. They probably thought I was just some crazy player that acted nonsense.
"Come on! You idiots, just run already! Do you want to die?" I yelled, growing more desperate.
As the dragon's deafening roars and its colossal shadow cast a presence, it finally jolted the other players into a state of utter panic. They frantically scrambled to escape the impending disaster.
I sprinted towards the Goblin Lord with the intention of luring it into a trap. I got right in front of the goblin, then made a quick turn to the left.
In the meantime, the fiery breath took a moment to strike, and it ended up hitting the Goblin Lord instead, enraging the creature.
Although only a portion of the fiery attack reached the goblin, because it quickly evaded the fiery breath and attempted to throw its axe at the dragon.
Of course the axe done nothing to the dragon. That thing has a powerful scales that couldnt be penetrated by the mere axe.
The dragon kept spewing fire that reduced everything in its vicinity to ashes, while the Goblin Lord was gradually turning into a blackened, burned mess.
The heat was so intense, and it drew more attention from all around. Not just curious players, but other monsters too.
I spotted packs of dinosaurs closing in on the battlefield, and a strange creature that looked like a mix of lion, goat, and snake - probably a chimera.
They clashed in a fierce battle. The T-rex lunged forward, jaws wide open, ready to snap at anything in its path.
The chimera, however, was quick and agile, avoiding the powerful bite and landing on the dinosaur's back, its lion-like claws digging into the tough, scaly skin.
The smaller dinosaurs joined in, swarming the chimera and creating chaos in the battle. These little creatures might be small compared to the T-rex, but they were fast and posed a real challenge for the chimera.
This was one hell of a show. So chaotic I'm too speechless to say anything. But just as I was engrossed in the spectacle, I felt a touch on my shoulder that made me jump.
Turning around, I found Matthias, accompanied by Jayden and Gideon.
How on earth did they keep finding me so easily?
"So, is this your brilliant plan?" Matthias asked, his usual sarcastic tone in place.
"It's better than a suicidal charge at the Goblin Lord. We can't even get close to it," I replied.
"Of course it's you that can't get close to it. I and Gideon didn't have any trouble with it." Matthias said, crossing his arms.
"The real problem is whether the system will recognize that we defeated it," he continue.
"Well, the system didn't explain the 'how' we defeat it part in detail," I reasoned, even though I was doubting my own plan.
Matthias let out a sigh, saying, "If we all die, it's on you."
"Should we all die, you won't be around to blame me anymore," I retorted.
The two of us locked eyes, the atmosphere growing tense and serious. I swear I could see an aura emanating from both of us. I was so focused on getting this guy to admit my plan might work.
"Come on, let's just calm down. We don't know anything yet because the game isn't over. All we can do is hope for the best," Gideon said, trying to bring some peace.
Matthias sighed, "You're right. We should stop acting like kids. I am the leader of this party, I should be more wise"
What the hell? Did Matthias have some kind of split personality? Why was he speaking differently when he talk to Gideon? Was this his way of winning the hearts of his party members?
Damn, he could at least be kinder to me too, considering I was part of his party and even the first personnel!
I decided to focus on the battle. The T-Rex vs Chimera already finished, with chimera as a winner because of that fire breath and the strong jaw it has.
The Goblin Lord was already in bad shape, not responding to the attacks anymore. The dragon grabbed its body with its claws and flew high into the sky.
After a minute, I saw the Goblin Lord's body fall from the sky, ending in a gruesome splatter.
To make sure it was done, the dragon landed on top of the Goblin Lord's remains and breathed fire again, turning it into ashes.
Now, the crucial question was whether the system would consider this a win for our team.
I was sweating and my heart started pounding too loud, I could even hear it. If we were died, it must be the dumbest way of die ever.
After a moment of waiting, the ping! Sound could be heard, meaning it was the time the system decide.
[Congratulations]
[You and your party have defeated the Goblin Lord with the help of the dragon]
I sighed in relief, so did everyone. The system was surprisingly generous today.
[But due to the nature of the fight, you can't redeem the special reward (The Goblin Lord Slayer)]
Oh, man! I had no idea what that title could do, but it must be something fantastic since it's labeled as a special reward.
[You've earned 5000 killing points from mini games]
[Remaining time for the Hunting Day games: 2 hours]
[Please continue and enjoy your game]
[Adios!]
The players cheered and celebrated. Some were dancing in the midst of the battleground after the dragon's and chimera departure.
Gideon patted my shoulder and said, "That was a smart move. You deserve all the praise."
"Not bad," Matthias remarked, crossing his arms.
But then, the system chimed in once more, startling me.
[You've received a special reward due to your chaotic nature]
[Tittle: The Maestro of Chaos]
[Description: Hail to the Prince of Chaos, the one who defeated all the enemies by embracing the chaotic nature of the world. Your strength shines amidst chaos, enabling you to conquer your foes.]
[Passive skill:]
[Your base Attack and attributes increase by 50% every time you activate the Prince of Chaos.]
[Creatures around you will also be influenced by the chaos, becoming chaotic themselves.]
[Skill duration: 10 minutes]
[Requirement: Create chaos on the battlefield and birth the Prince of Chaos seed]
What the hell? So, this was what the title was for! It was a buff with a fantastic attribute boost.
This was the power up I've been waiting for!
I wondered if the title and passive skill were still active.
The system replied, [Yes, you have 9 minutes and 7 seconds left.]
Hell yeah! I needed to eliminate as many monsters as possible! I couldn't afford to miss this chance!
The more I write in first POV, the more I wanted to change it into third POV. Should I do that :"
