Chapter 1
The smell of the hospital was in the air, and the silence, broken only by the hum of the machines, was almost unbearable. Anthony Blackhole, only nine years old, held his father's frail hand. Derek Blackhole, once a strong and vibrant man, was now haggard, but his eyes still held a sparkle as he looked at his son.
"Tony..." Derek's voice was weak, almost a whisper. "You're the man of the house now."
The words weighed on the boy's shoulders like a responsibility. His teary eyes met his father's, and he nodded, trying to hold back the tears but failing miserably.
"Daddy... I'll take care of Mommy. I promise." His choked voice barely came out. "And I'll study hard and follow my dreams, like you wanted. I'll be the best... and I'll make you proud of me."
Derek voiced weakly but sincerely. His pale lips curved as he nodded slowly.
"Tony… I will always… always be proud of you." With great difficulty, he reached out and placed his trembling hand on his beloved son's chest, right above his heart. "And you will never be alone, my son. I will be here… always…"
The remaining strength in Derek's body seemed to have gone in that moment. His hand fell softly to his side, and the light in his eyes disappeared.
"Daddy?" Anthony called out desperately, but there was no answer. He shook his father's arm gently. "Daddy, please don't go…"
His mother, Elizabeth, who was already fighting back tears. She moved quickly, gently pulling Anthony away.
"Come on, honey…" she said, trying to remain calm. "Let Daddy rest now."
A Few Years Later
The sky was clear in Calabasas, reflecting a brilliant blue as Anthony Blackhole, now fifteen, pulled up in front of a beautiful mansion. He adjusted his backpack on his shoulder and took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. The door was opened by a tall man wearing a golf shirt and khaki pants.
"How may I help you, sir?" the man asked, his tone polite but firm.
Tony stepped forward and replied with a shy smile, "Hello, sir. My name is Anthony, but you can call me Tony. Kylie asked me to help her with her studies. She said she was running a little behind."
The man studied Tony for a moment before smiling and opening the door. "Oh, sure. Come in. I'm Bruce Jenner, her father."
Tony nodded, stepping into the luxurious living room. "I know who you are," he said with a hint of recognition. "I brought this with me, actually." He pulled a poster from his backpack of the 1976 Olympics, where Bruce Jenner had won gold in the decathlon.
Bruce raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You brought this?"
"Yes," Tony replied. "My dad, Derek Blackhole, was a big fan. He always talked about your victory. I thought maybe you could sign it, if it's not too much to ask."
Bruce smiled, clearly touched. "Of course I can, kid." He took the poster and signed it with a gold marker. "Here you go. And tell your dad I'm honored he's been following my journey."
Tony held the poster carefully, his smile fading for a brief moment before he replied, "Thank you, sir. He'd be so happy to hear that."
Bruce nodded, unaware of the melancholy behind his response. "I'll go get Kylie. In the meantime, make yourself comfortable in the living room."
A few minutes later, Kylie came running down the stairs. When she saw Tony, she gave him a big smile and hugged him enthusiastically. Tony, who is 5'7", had to tilt his head slightly to hug her back.
"I'm so glad you came!" she said, looking up with bright eyes.
Just behind her, Kris Jenner appeared with a welcoming smile. "Hello! I'm Kris, Kylie's mom. Thank you so much for coming to help my daughter."
Tony smiled, a little surprised. "No need to thank me, Mrs. Jenner. When Kylie invited me, I couldn't say no to her."
The answer drew laughter from Kris and Bruce, while Kylie looked away, visibly embarrassed but without losing her smile.
Bruce took the opportunity to comment to his wife: "He brought an Olympic poster for me to sign. He was very clever, he started by winning over the girl's father first."
Kris laughed and whispered to him: "He's doing well. He's already earned points."
Turning her attention to Tony, Kris casually asked: "Have you known each other long?"
Tony laughed awkwardly, but didn't answer right away. Kylie quickly interrupted, "Not really. We're not classmates."
Tony is a scholarship student and is two years ahead of me. We met because Kendall introduced us and we started talking."
Bruce, who had been listening intently, raised his eyebrows. "Two years ahead? You must be one of those guys who studies all the time."
Tony gave a modest smile. "I dedicate myself to my studies, yes sir, but also to my football training."
Bruce seemed even more interested. "And what's your position?" 'I'm the Quarterback,' replied Tony.
Bruce whistled, it seemed. "Congratulations, lad. Looks like you know how to juggle things well."
Tony just invited, keeping his cool, but the surprise in Bruce and Kris's eyes, combined with Kylie's shy smile, made it clear that he had made a good impression.
Kylie took Tony by the hand, almost dragging him into the bedroom, visibly impatient with his embarrassment in front of Bruce and Kris. "Come on, Tony, before you get even more embarrassed!" she exclaimed, jokingly, but with a touch of nervousness.
Bruce, smiling like an overprotective father, said: "Leave the door open, Kylie. Just in case."
Kylie left Tony for her room, almost dragging him, because he was so ashamed of what they might think of him. He could feel their eyes on his back, following his every step.
Kris, with an amused smile, replied: "Obey your father and leave the door open."
"Oh, you're embarrassing me," Kylie said back, as she opened the bedroom door and closed it softly.
Inside the room, the environment was tidy and ready for studying. Books spread out on the table, notebooks, colored pens – everything Kylie needed to improve her questions.
"So, where do you want to start?" Tony asked.
"I'm having the most difficulty with Chemistry and Biology," Kylie replied, pointing to the books and materials laid out on the table.
"Okay, let's start there then," Tony said, picking up one of his own books and opening it. They sat side by side at the table, ready to begin. Tony picked up a highlighter and began explaining one of the chemistry concepts that Kylie wasn't quite understanding.
Soon, Kris and Bruce walked down the hall and heard Tony explaining something, with Kylie paying attention and writing it down in her notebook. Kylie seemed more relaxed now, visibly absorbing the content quickly.
Kris, watching the scene, turned to Bruce and commented, surprised: "I didn't know a boy knew so much about this." She looked at Bruce, as if questioning the source of Tony's knowledge.
Bruce sent, replying with an amused air: "He's a sportsman."
The hours passed quickly as Tony and Kylie concentrated on their studies. The clock on the wall read 7:30 when Tony finally closed his book and leaned back in his chair. "I think that's enough for today," he said, looking at Kylie.
Kylie looked at him with a smile. "Could you help me again?"
Tony agreed, opening the calendar on his phone. "I could come on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 7.30am, and on Sundays from 3.30pm to 7am. What do you think?"
"Perfect! Let's make a date!" Kylie said, hugging him enthusiastically.
At that moment, Bruce entered the room and told her what was going on.
Kylie, still with a smile on her lips, looked at her father. "Tony's going to help me with my studies again."
Bruce looked at Tony seriously. "Thanks for that, kid. I'm glad it helps." my daughter."
Tony gave a shy smile and nodded. "It's nothing, Mr. Jenner."
As Tony prepared to leave, Kris appeared in the doorway, as if she'd forgotten something. "You can't leave after helping my little girl, Tony," she said with a smile. "You have to stay for dinner."
Tony tried to make some excuses, feeling uncomfortable, but Kris wouldn't let him get away with it. "Don't worry, everything will be fine! You can't leave without a meal."
Feeling that there was no escape, Tony finally gave in. "Okay, ma'am. Jenner. I accept."
Kylie declared, escorting Tony to the dining table, and he beat her with a slightly lighter heart, but still surprised by everything that was happening. When he reached the table, he saw some familiar figures and, to his surprise, he saw Kendall Jenner at the table.
Kendall looked at him with a friendly smile and came over to hug him. "Hey, Tony! How are you?"
Tony said back, a little surprised by the gesture, but feeling comfortable.
"I'm fine, Kendall, how are you?"
"That's great," Kendall replied, smiling. "I hear you're supporting Kylie. That's really nice of you."
"Yeah, I couldn't say no," Tony replied, a little awkwardly, but unable to hide his smile.
Tony sat at the dinner table, looking at everyone. As well as Kendall, there were Kourtney and Scott Disick, Khloé and Lamar Odom, prominent members of the Jenner/Kardashian family. He sat next to Kylie, still a little nervous about the situation. When Kendall greeted him, he responded in a friendly way, and Kylie, seeing that he was feeling a bit out of place, sent him over to introduce himself.
"Guys, this is Tony. He's helping me with my studies because I'm having trouble balancing my time between studies and work," Kylie said with a smile, explaining why he was there.
Kourtney, always helpful, invited her and introduced herself. "Thank you so much for Kylie, Tony. It's been a challenge reconciling our busy schedules, but she's definitely in good hands."
Khloé, who was visiting, always with her refined sense of humor, looked at Tony and made a quick joke: "Wow, you're too handsome to be good at studying. You should be doing something other than studying, huh?"
Everyone laughed, except Tony and Kylie, who blushed slightly, but were both saved by Bruce, who immediately intervened: "Khloé, don't be so naughty, leave those two alone!"
"Oh, I was just joking, Bruce," Khloé replied with a laugh.
Kris, wasting no time, took the opportunity to give more information about Tony: "Just so you know, he's two grades above Kylie and one above Kendall, and he's also the quarterback of the Sierra Canyon soccer team."
Lamar Odom nodded in approval. "Congratulations, kid! Keep it up, that's what."
Scott Disick, ever the jokester, leaned forward and said provocatively: "Look, Kylie's already started following in Khloé and Kim's footsteps, huh? She's already recruited her player early!"
The whole table burst into laughter, and Kylie, visibly embarrassed, playfully slapped the table. "Guys, shut up!" She turned to Tony, giving him an apologetic look, "I'm sorry, Tony. And I apologize in advance for anything that happens during dinner."
Tony conveyed, still shy, but trying to look relaxed. "Don't worry, I'm having fun." He sat down next to Kylie, trying not to be put off by the jokes that were going around. The conversation was light as they waited for their plates to arrive.
A few minutes later, the door opened and Kim Kardashian walked in, greeting everyone with a bright smile. "Hi, guys! How's everyone doing?" She looked around, smiling at each one, until her eyes landed on Tony. "And who's this?"
Tony looked up and politely replied, "Hi, my name is Anthony Blackhole. I'm here to help Kylie with her studies."
Kim looked at Kylie, an amused smile forming. "You made a great choice, Kylie. He's smart and handsome, isn't he?"
Tony, a little shy about the compliment, asked and replied, "Thanks."
Scott, always ready with a joke, said, "Oh, he's also a jock. American football player!"
Kim laughed. "Oh, that's a bonus," she replied, with a playful look. "Smart and handsome, plus the bonuses of being a jock. That's perfect!"
The table laughed, and Kylie rolled her eyes, but was clearly pleased. Tony could tell that despite all the fame and glitz surrounding Kylie and her family, he was being treated with genuine warmth.
Dinner continued in a relaxed atmosphere, but Tony noticed that they avoided the subject of his parents. Kendall or Kylie had probably brought it up before. The questions focused on his daily life and interests.
"So, Tony, what are your hobbies?" Kourtney asked, as she cut into a piece of salmon.
Tony, ever polite, replied, "Oh, studying, playing football, playing guitar and fighting. I've been doing GJJ since I was 4 and Muay Thai for 2 years. I like to keep my body in shape."
"Wow, that's amazing!" Kourtney commented. "It's hard to find young people who take care of their bodies these days."
"Thanks," Tony replied.
Khloé, however, didn't seem interested in the technical details. "Okay, okay, fighting is cool, but... are you a good singer too or do you just play guitar?"
Tony shook his head with a shy smile. "Oh, I sing a little bit, but nothing special."
Kendall, sitting next to him, laughed. "Oh, don't be so modest! He sings really well.
Just wait." She grabbed her laptop, opened YouTube, and searched for a video. "Here, guys, check this out."
The video began to play. On the screen, Tony held a guitar, smiling slightly as he said he would play an original song he had composed. His voice filled the room with the first lines of the song:
From the first moment, I knew it was love.
The moment we met...
The melody was soft, and the lyrics were full of feeling. As soon as the video ended, silence fell over the table, followed by applause and awed expressions.
"Man, you're so talented!" Scott said, nodding.
"Do you have a manager yet, Tony?" Kris asked, curious.
Tony, trying to be polite and get out of the situation, replied, "Not yet, but my mom said she'd take care of everything when the time came." He was clearly thinking, but no one questioned him.
Khloé, with a mischievous smile, glanced at Kylie. "Looks like you made a big deal out of that one, huh?"
Kylie, distracted and still immersed in the music, so look at the comment. She blushed slightly and looked away, mentally cursing her playful sister.
After the song, dinner continued with lively conversation, but the mood had lightened. Tony, still a little shy, politely answered the new questions that came from all sides about him.
At the end of the meal, he took advantage of a lull in the conversation to thank her. He made his statement, straightened his posture, and said, "I want to thank everyone for a wonderful evening.
Your welcome was incredible. And of course, thank you for the delicious dinner."
"Oh no, honey!" Kris replied with a warm smile. "You did Kylie a huge favor. It's the least we could do for you."
Before he could continue, Scott interrupted with his typical irreverence: "Hey, before you go, the kid has something to say. Something about future games, maybe?"
Tony laughed and agreed. "Actually, yes. I'd like to invite everyone to my next game. It's in four days at 9 a.m. If you have time, it would be an honor to have you there."
Bruce was the first to respond. "I'd love to watch. Let's get ready. Are you playing quarterback? I want to see it for myself!"
Kris agreed as well. "We'll definitely be there, honey."
As Tony was dismissed, he thanked her again. However, just as he was about to leave, Kris suggested something that took him by surprise. "You've helped Kylie so much today that we can't just let you go like this. How about staying for dessert?"
Tony, trying to be polite, decided with a laugh. "Oh, thank you very much, but my mother is already looking for me."
"Understood, but next time, no excuses, okay?" Kris replied with a friendly look.
As Tony walked through the front door and walked towards the gate, Kylie appeared quickly behind him, calling his name.
"Tony, wait!"
He stopped and turned, curious. She moved quickly, visibly hesitant. He laughed, trying to ease the tension.
"Is this the moment when a beautiful girl kisses the gentleman who helped her study?"
Kylie blushed, but retaliated with a light slap on his arm. "Oh, stop it! I just wanted to ask you something serious."
"Sure, what's up?"
"Do you think I should continue with my current studies or start studying at home? With work, it's been so hard."
Tony looked serious for a moment before answering. "Look, homeschooling can be a good option, but honestly, there's no substitute for face-to-face learning at a school like Sierra. Besides, one thing no one can take away from you is your knowledge." He cocked his head slightly, eliciting a shy smile.
"Thanks, Tony. I can really hear that." Kylie hugged him quickly.
When Tony got into the car with his mother, she asked curiously:
"So, how was it there? Did they treat you well?"
Tony sent, still reflecting on the events. "It was great, Mom. They're a very... peculiar family, but very nice. And, fortunately, today wasn't a shooting day."
So we can study and even have dinner together."
His mother laughed. "You seem to like it, huh? They're already treating you like part of the family.
"Family?"
Tony looked away from the window, hiding a smile. "Not at all, they were just nice. But, honestly, it was a different experience. They live in another world, you know? But in the end, they're a lot like us."
Meanwhile, at the Kardashian-Jenner mansion, Kylie returned to the dining room, where she found her sisters and Scott sitting at the table. They all smiled mischievously, as if they were planning something.
Kim, holding a camera, said with a mischievous expression: "So Kylie, how was your goodbye with Tony? Anything we should know?"
Kylie snorted, crossing her arms. "Nothing happened. He just helped me with my studies and was polite."
Khloé, laughing, nudged Kendall. "See, I told you she was in love. It's that look in her eyes that makes her think of him."
"Oh, come on, Khloé!" Kylie replied, her cheeks flushing. "You're exaggerating. He's just a friend, and he was nice enough to help me out. That's all."
Scott, with his usual irony, added: "Of course, of course. He's just a friend... who happens to be handsome, talented and a star quarterback. You're just 'drafting' your future husband, Kylie."
Kylie picked up a pillow from the sofa and threw it at Scott, laughing despite the teasing.
"You guys are impossible!"
Kris, watching from afar, interviewed. "Leave Kylie alone. She's trying very hard at school, and Tony is a very promising young man. I think he'll go far."
Bruce true. "He's a determined boy. I wouldn't be surprised if he became a big name in the future."
Meanwhile, Kylie went up to her room, trying to ignore the teasing looks.
Closing the door, she sat on the bed, holding the notebook where Tony had made some notes to help her.
Without realizing it, a small smile formed on her face.
Outside, Kim commented quietly to Khloé: "It looks like we have a new love story unfolding. I bet it will grow over the next few months."
The next day, Tony was at school, practicing passes on the field. His mind, however, was divided between the upcoming games and the strange feeling he got when he remembered Kylie's hug.
"Focus, Tony!", spoke the coach, snapping him out of his detour. He shook his head, took a deep breath and threw the ball with surgical precision.
On the eve of the big game, Tony was determined to prepare as much as possible. Under the hot sun, he trained tirelessly. The coach set up targets at different distances, challenging Tony to hit each one with precise passes. With a focused gaze, he threw the ball, hitting almost all the targets with ease.
After finishing the static passes, the coach called on the wide receivers (WRs) for movement drills.
Tony instructed his teammates to run different routes, adjusting their posture and throwing rhythm.
Each pass seemed more accurate than the last, boosting their confidence for game day.
"That's it, boys. Let's call it a day," said the coach, satisfied with the performance.
But Tony wasn't ready to stop. "Coach, can I suggest something? How about a drill with the opposing defense coming at me? I want to practice situations where I have to improvise or escape defenders."
The coach hesitated, but the determination in the young man's eyes convinced him. "Okay, but let's be careful. Defense, I want intensity, but don't hurt our quarterback."
So the training session began with defensive pressure. In the early stages, Tony retreated to adjust to the pace and pressure, being asked to rush the ball or make bad decisions. But as the session progressed, he began to find gaps, get past defenders and create opportunities.
On one of the final plays, after escaping two defenders, he threw a perfect ball to a moving WR, who caught the ball and crossed the line for the fake touchdown.
"That's what I want to see!" the coach exclaimed, visibly visibly.
The practice came to an end, and Tony was exhausted, but she knew he was ready. He knew that all this effort would make all the difference in the game. The packed stadium and the pressure from the fans would be just another challenge to overcome.
The day finally arrived. The stadium was packed, the fans were cheering, and Tony felt the adrenaline rushing through his veins. Looking around, he saw his mother in the stands, waving with a proud smile. Beside her, an unexpected sight: the Kardashian-Jenner family was present, only Khloe was absent.
Both Kylie and Kendall were cheerleaders, positioned on the sidelines with pom-poms, ready to pump up the crowd.
Tony wore the number 8 jersey, which he chose because his father always said it was his lucky number, and it was one of his inspirations.
The opposing team won the coin toss and decided to punt, so his team would start with possession of the ball.
On the first play, Tony received the snap and quickly read the defense. He threw a short pass to the running back, who advanced about 8 yards before being tackled.
Second attempt: a simple handoff that resulted in another 4 yards and a first down.
The game continued, with Tony orchestrating the plays with calm and precision. He varied between short passes and strategic runs, exploiting the weaknesses of the opposing defense. On third down, on a 15-yard play, he found an open wide receiver, securing another pass.
"This kid is smart," Bruce Jenner commented from the stands. "He knows how to manipulate the defense."
"I want to see a touchdown pass," Scott Disick said excitedly.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian noticed something else. She looked at Kylie, who was watching Tony's every move on the field intently, and called her over to the stands.
"You're rooting for him a lot, huh?" he said with a mischievous smile, but Kylie looked away, trying to hide it, she continued to cheer, shaking her pom-poms.
On the field, Tony faced a critical moment. The opposing defense started more, making it difficult to advance. After a quick read, he decided to improvise. Running with the ball, he avoided a defender, but was in a bad position to throw with his right hand. Without hesitation, he passed the ball to his left hand and threw a perfect 35-yard pass to the wide receiver, who secured the touchdown.
The crowd erupted in applause. Bruce Jenner joined in. "He can play with both hands." hands!"
"That was an amazing pass," Scott said.
While the men discussed the technique, Kim and Kourtney were still trying to understand the basics of what was happening. Rob, who was unfamiliar with the technique initially, came over to accompany his family. Rob patiently explained the move and why everyone was so excited.
Near the side of the field, Tony took a quick look at the cheerleading area.
He saw Kylie looking at him, and with a confident smile, he winked at her. She immediately blushed and tried to hide her face, but her red cheeks were unmistakable.
Tony's defense did a great job, and the opponent failed to score. He returned to the field with the same focus, ready for another sequence of actions.
Tony returned to the field determined, with the crowd cheering and his confidence high.
After a good defensive work, his team regained possession of the ball.
On the first play, Tony received the snap and made a quick pass to his wide receiver, but the ball slipped from his hands, resulting in an incomplete pass. He took a deep breath, shook his head, but found calm. In the second below, he called a running play that gained 5 yards, putting the time in a slightly better position.
As the fans watched intently, the time ticked down slowly. They reached the opponent's 50-yard line, but struggled. A perfect pass was dropped, and a bad progression broke a false start, costing the team 10 yards. Now they were at the 60-yard line, needing a miracle play to score a touchdown on this play.
Tony knew he couldn't miss. He took the snap and faked a long pass to fool the defense. Instead, he ran sideways with the ball, evading two defenders who were trying to tackle him, and his defense was all around him, protecting him. Up ahead, another defender appeared, and Tony knew he had no choice.
He accelerated, made an impressive leap over the defender, and stretched his arm for the touchdown.
Ao cair no chão, o julgado os braços, sinalizando o ponto.
TOUCHDOWN!!!
The crowd went wild. The stands shook with applause, and even Bruce Jenner, who was usually more subdued, called out in applause.
"That kid is so good," Bruce commented, commenting on the audacity of the jump.
"That's an insane move!" Scott exclaimed, completely excited.
Rob explained that the move was so impressive. "Not only did he dribble, but he read the jump at the right time. That takes a lot of practice and courage."
While the men argued, Kylie could barely contain her excitement. She jumped up and down with her cheerleader friends, but her eyes were fixed on Tony, who was celebrating his time.
Tony walked back to the sidelines, sweaty but smiling. He walked past the cheerleaders' area and this time gave Kylie a small wave. She, still blushing, just glared shyly, but her eyes were shining.
On the bench, Tony knew the game wasn't over yet, but moments like these were what made all the hard work worth it. Looking up at the stands, he saw his mother waving.
He closed his eyes for a moment, remembering his father's words:
"You'll never be alone. I'll always be in your heart."
At that moment, he felt like Derek Blackhole was there, celebrating with him.
The final score of the game was 59-6. Not only did Tony take his time to win, but he was also named MVP of the game.
After receiving the award, he walked to the stands to thank the fans for their support. He saw his mother in the audience waving and it touched his heart and sent him to heaven, leaving his mother emotional, understanding the message.
Hello everyone, how are you?
This is a project that I haven't left my mind and it's been a bit of a hassle to do the others, but I finished the first chapter and now I'm more relaxed.
I'd like to thank everyone who favorites me and sends me comments (I really like them) and feedback to let me know if I'm doing well and fix any mistakes.
That was all, bye, my dear ones.
