THE DETERRENT

Our efforts were paid one day,

On which he agreed to say.

He asked me to write a poem,

That airs his feel to the whole realm.

"How can I express your feel?"

I asked as soon as he kept the deal

"You are the only one to unveil,

Because it's you who feel."

He should have his moment,

As it doesn't have a replacement.

He said that he'll propose, 

And he looked so eager to disclose.

He gained so much of motivation,

And went to the queen of his nation.

Suddenly, he stopped his motion,

And returned with a face of agitation.

Then he stood by the shadows,

Just watching her from afar.

A love that's unrequited,

Is a pain that leaves a scar.

I know that he strives so hard,

To propose his love so true,

But fear seizes his soul,

Of spurn and what to do.

She's the first love of his life.

She's everything he ever wanted,

But deep down pricks the knife,

Which always got him daunted.

He sees her talk to an adherent,

And tries to take the move,

But then comes the deterrent,

"Would she disapprove?"

Believe me or not, it's a curse!

It's a curse to be unrequited.

It's a curse to be undercover.

It's a curse to conceal the love.

It's a curse to be a one-sided lover.

He's content to be her friend,

To cherish her from far away,

To love her forever in his heart,

And not to be a snag in her way.

For sometimes love isn't enough,

Sometimes it isn't meant to laugh,

But in his heart, she'll always be,

And that's ample for him to see.

So, he continued to spectate her,

From a distance, she won't bother.

We know that his love is true,

We hope that she'll get the clue.

God, she must know all his agony.
