Entering the town

After we cleared the mes- Oh, pardon my heroic deed, we set off once more towards the nearest town.

This time, their morale was at its peak, and they stole glances at me from time to time. I could also overhear their whispers, all centered around me.

I chose to ignore them and relish my solitary moments. However, it seemed too much to ask for, as Lily approached me while I was enjoying the view as we walked.

"Miss Kaira, what are your plans once we reach the town?"

I glanced at her momentarily, lost in thought.

What should I do upon arrival? First and foremost, I need to secure lodging; sleeping on the road is out of the question.

"I suppose I'll prioritize finding accommodation for some rest, and then I'll decide on my next steps."

"How about I give you a tour of the town afterward?"

"That sounds nice, thank you."

I observed her expression, noticing a hint of melancholy, and gently inquired, "Is everything alright? You seem a bit down."

In response, she looked at me and mustered a smile, saying, "Yes, I'm fine, Miss Kaira. You don't need to worry about me."

Despite her words, her facial expression hinted at something deeper, perhaps sadness over the loss of her comrade.

Reflecting on this, I realized that not being attuned to others' emotions could be a bad thing.

"Not being able to sense others' emotions makes it challenging to truly understand each other, which is undoubtedly a curse," I remarked.

"I apologize for causing you concern. I just need some time to sort out my thoughts."

"No worries, feel free to talk to me anytime. I'll be completely available after this, so if you have any problems, I'm all ears."

"Thank you for saying that, Miss Kaira. It means a lot to me," she replied gratefully.

I noticed a small trace of a smile forming on her face. "I think that helped to relieve her a little."

After an hour of walking, I finally caught sight of a huge gate ahead, its towering walls giving off a distinct fantasy vibe.

Upon reaching the gate, we were stopped and asked to state our purpose for coming. With the assistance of the merchant and the other adventurers I had saved, I was easily allowed entry.

After receiving my reward, which was double the promised amount, Lily pulled me along in search of an inn that was both affordable and had a pleasant atmosphere.

After a bit of walking, we finally found one and booked a room.

"Miss Kaira, want to go for a walk? We still have some time before the sun sets," Lily suggested.

"Well, that sounds lovely. Thank you," I replied.

"No problem, follow me. I'll be your perfect guide."

She stepped forward, took my hand, and gently pulled me along with her.

As we walked, various stalls came into view, offering clothes, food, vegetables, and fruits.

Lily pulled me toward a nearby food stall, and my eyes settled on the skewers displayed there.

I wasn't sure what kind of meat it was, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

Letting Lily lead the way, I decided to treat myself to a skewer.

"Hello, boss. How much for one skewer?" Lily asked.

"Young miss, it's 2 copper coins per skewer, but if you buy six, I'll give them to you for one large copper coin," the stall owner responded with a smile.

'Wow, a discount! I don't know much about the currency here, but I can roughly guess that 10 copper coins equal one large copper coin.

So that means 10 large copper coins must be equivalent to one silver coin.'

"Miss Kaira, would you like something to eat?" she asked, looking at me.

"Yes, why not," I replied.

She then turned and called out to the stall owner, "Boss, give me six skewers, please."

"Okay, young miss," he said, handing Lily six skewers with one hand while taking the payment with the other.

"You don't have to pay for me," I said to Lily, in a low voice.

"Don't worry, Miss Kaira. You saved me and my party members. This is nothing," she responded with a smile.

I had a feeling she wouldn't listen, so I didn't resist. I took the three skewers she handed me and thanked her.

As I looked at the skewers, an idea popped into my mind.

'Can I replicate these skewers? But now isn't the time. I'll try it when I'm alone.'

I also realized that with my creation ability, I could create currency, so I wouldn't have any problems related to money.

"Miss Kaira, you shouldn't just stare at your skewer. You should eat it before it gets cold," Lily said, bringing me back to reality. I hadn't realized how close her face was to mine.

"It's nothing, just some thoughts," I replied.

We continued our way through the bazaar, encountering many interesting sights along the way.

After finishing our walk, we returned to the inn to rest.

When we arrived, the inn owner's daughter reminded us that dinner would be ready shortly. She also brought a bucket of hot water and a cloth.

Curious, I asked her what it was for. She replied, "Your friend asked me to bring it to you. You can use the cloth to wipe yourself clean."

"Oh!" I responded nonchalantly, realizing Lily must have sent it.

I handed the girl a milk candy that i conjure just now and thanked her.

After she left, my eyes fell on the bucket.

'Do I really need to wipe myself with this? There's no way I can take a proper bath here.'

So, I resigned myself to the situation and began cleaning myself.

After ten minutes of cleaning myself, I hurried downstairs for dinner, which was already bustling with people. Among the diners were adventurers and merchants alike.

While searching for an empty table, a familiar voice called from behind.

"Miss Kaira, over here! I've saved a seat for you."

I turned towards the voice and saw Lily waving at me. She was sitting in the corner with her party members, with an empty chair on her left and an extra plate on the table containing a bowl of soup or stew and two buns.
