Norman was on his way to California all the while watching the press conference Stark was giving to the media.
In itself you could say it was the same monologue he had in the movie, he even went on to mention that the weapon manufacturing section was going to be shut down.
Norman was a bit surprised by that fact considering that he should have been notified immediately of the purchase of Stark Industries shares on his part, it was a bit risky to declare something like that.
Although considering the Stark's character and the fact that he had seen his weapons being used for something he never believed possible or rather refused to believe was possible, it was logical that he cared little about the possible consequences.
It's not as if Norman was going to stop him, personally he never liked the arms business, after all you never know for sure if those weapons could one day be used against you.
Giving your possible enemies weapons to defeat you was just stupid and if you had to do it then you had to make sure they couldn't harm you.
The black-haired man closed his eyes as he stopped thinking about it, he would only rest a little before the plane reached its destination.
When he woke up, the plane had started to descend and was about to land.
He took his gaze to the window of the plane and realized that night had fallen, his eyes moved to the watch in his hand and he saw that it was too late to be able to keep an appointment.
He knew that if he went he would certainly be attended, but he preferred to wait for tomorrow, and it would give him some time to think about the next step he should take.
"Make an appointment with Anthony for tomorrow" he ordered to an assistant who was already waiting for him outside the plane.
The woman only nodded to the order of her boss after that she guided Norman to the car that would transport him to the building that Oscorp owned in Los Angeles, since all the buildings belonging to his company had a floor completely reserved for him, which were divided in turn in its functionality, so he could work, but also, so he could rest without the need to go home or to a hotel.
…
The next morning Norman woke up and started working, he had come to California after all on a business trip plus there were things he had to do every day regardless of whether he was at Oscorp headquarters or not.
Even with the help of his secretary it was a bit of a hassle, but still the workload was much less thanks to her.
Honestly Norman had following his doubts about her, but they were much less than he had in the beginning, after diving deep into his memories he managed to find out why she was so loyal to him.
It was because of some financial help that the former Osborn had given her, at least that put his mind at ease a little.
After finishing with his work Norman still had a little time before his appointment, of course he knew it was unlikely that he would be able to talk to Anthony, but he still had to make an appearance.
He simply got ready quickly in a typical business suit and started to head for the office exit, finally taking the elevator down to the second floor of the building.
The moment the doors opened he looked at the same assistant from yesterday who was already waiting for him and simply began to walk to the place where the driver was waiting to take him to his destination.
…
As soon as he arrived at Stark Industries' headquarters he was courteously guided through the place to the director's office.
He wasn't surprised to see Obadiah Stane in it, that was something he had already deduced from the night before, it would be strange if he could actually have a meeting with Tony.
"So tell me Mr. Stane where is Anthony?" asked Osborn as he walked over to one of the guest chairs and sat down in it.
Stane just flashed a somewhat complicated look at Osborn before answering, "Anthony is at home, he is resting after all the events he has been through, so he won't be able to attend this appointment, so I will take his place" he explained calmly.
"However, I have nothing to talk to you about" he mentioned simply: "The person I want to talk to is the CEO of Stark Industries and you are not" he continued as he watched Stane's mask crack a little.
"Those are big words for someone who is just starting out" pointed out Obadiah at Norman's arrogant attitude.
"And yet, I own 40% of the company while you only own 20%, now since I see that this talk would be meaningless, I will simply leave" with those words he got up from his seat, since he really saw no benefit of continuing with this talk.
"Besides I doubt that Anthony won't show up at the charity party that will be held in a week, so I can wait until that day, goodbye Mr. Stane" he finished by saying as he left through the door he had entered minutes before.
Just as he left, Stane's countenance completely changed to one of anger, the company he had built had been taken away from him first by the Stark brat, and now he had to deal with someone else's arrogance.
He wouldn't let that go, he wouldn't, he would be the only one who owned Stark Industries.
…
The night had fallen and Norman was in Stane's office, the purpose of requesting a meeting was not entirely to see Tony, his main objective was to be able to enter the Stark Industries facility.
One thing he discovered in his training with his teleportation was that if he had been to a place previously it would be much easier for him to transport to it plus the energy charge required was much less than if he simply imagined the place where he wanted to go.
His goal was the Arc reactor plans and everything related to that project while he owned a large part of Stark Industries, he knew that the reactor plans were off limits to him, never mind that before Tony returned they thought it was just Howard's pipe dream.
There was just no way they would approve that honestly this should have been a job for Walter, but he was on a more important mission than the Arc reactor.
Once inside the system he began his search, they were found with relative ease, but it was still slow work to avoid being discovered and leave no trace of his presence at this point he thanked Ducard for the electronic training he gave him.
Norman also wanted to find the Stark Expo model that contained the clue to synthesize the Badassium, but no matter how hard he searched he could not find it, that was logical after all it was nowhere near the time it should have been found, and it is possible that it is in a remote part of the facility.
With that thought in mind Norman knew it would only be a waste of time to wait to find it, so once the download was complete he simply erased the small traces that had been left and transported himself back to his room at the Oscorp branch.
He had a full week to analyze the Arc reactor and see if with Norman's intellect he could develop one like the one Anthony made otherwise it would only remain to steal one of the two he has or will have.
With that in mind he had a lot of work to do.
1320 words in this chapter.
And yes, I know I'm not following the timeline of the movie, but that's the least of it considering all the changes I've made.
By the way, remember that Norman also has a degree in electrical engineering, so he also has the knowledge to try to recreate the Arc reactor himself.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
