Chapter 48: The Hunter is born

In a base not far from the illusion citadel they placed the Scorching Scorpion members were outside having fun while some were on guard, Connor and the rest who were hiding plan their attack as Violet then suggests,

"Why not we attack them head on?."

They were all silent as Connor had an Idea and let up a thumbs up, minutes later Violet came crashing down like a meteor, the Scorching scorpion members who were outside were all grabbing their weapons, some were attacking Violet from behind.

Violet: This won't do for me, not at all.

All the thugs could see was red lightning moving towards them, and the next thing they know was either they would be killed or thrown to the wall.

as Violet drew all their attention to her the rest went to the front door and as soon as they entered there were two guards in there.

Still unable to react quickly Cv went in and deal with the guards he then says,

"We need to move."

the others went inside the base as Violet feinted with her left and landed a punch with her right, she uses the sword to block the strikes coming from her attackers.

She kicked the ground and landed the dust in her enemies eyes, while they were occupied with their sight Violet went on a rampage and swung her sword from left to right killing the scorching scorpions that were caught in her attack earlier while some were able to dodge her strike they were simply waiting for Violet to make the wrong move.

The ones who avoided Violet's dust attack threw multiple daggers as she blocks all them perfectly and says.

"I've faced far worse than you low rates."

as she herself let out a bright red and headed towards her enemies with the intent to kill.

Cameron just sliced up a member with his spear, already exhausted he couldn't noticed one of them was heading behind him as it was shot, Emilia then walks to Cameron and asks,

"Are you okay Cameron?."

Cameron: I'm fine

He gives her a smile to lessen her concern for him as she holds his hand and says,

"Never trust a man who says their fine."

He wasn't expecting Emilia to say that, he thought she would've believed him but she didn't, As Cv leaps from one place to the other killing multiple members and proceeding to the other room.

Connor: Where are the prisoners held here?

Gwyn: Kix!

Kix who was at the van with Bones would guide them in the van on where to go, he lets out a sigh of boredom and says,

"It's just up ahead Leader."

Bones: Loose that boredom look please you're gonna make it completely boring if you do.

As Gwyn and the others went inside the room, it was another kind of hell they seen.

Inside the cells where people's flesh eaten by wolves, some were in half, some starved to death Connor ran around the cells to see if he could find Ava in one of those cells, meanwhile Cv did the exact same thing but only one of them found what they were looking for.

Cv found his friend in a cell, all thin, his face dried up, ants were entering his friend's eyes. he was basically dead, it was obvious he never had food for a while now.

kneeling in front of his friend he tries to shoo away the ants and says,

"I'm here, I came to rescue you... why aren't you waking up?."

He tries to wake him up multiple times but to no response,

"Hey! Why aren't you waking up? just open your eyes I'm finally her--!."

??: That corpse is no longer waking up.

All of them heard a voice coming from the speaker as Connor yells,

"Where's Ava!?."

??: Hmmm I believe you're the leader of the group right? I must commend for Scar's successful predictions so far, if you want the girl then come and get her.

as they could hear a girl screaming from the pain in the speakers as it turns off,

Connor: Gwyn where is that connected?

Gwyn: Bones?

Connor was filled with rage hearing what he believed to be Ava's voice in pain in the speaker, his teeth biting his lip, blood was streaming down as he was waiting for Bones to tell them where that person is.

Bones: That guy was in the basement floor! just go straight you'll see a staircase heading downwards go there!

Connor was the first to leave the room as the others followed shortly, Cameron stops and asks,

"You're not coming with us?."

Cv: I'm gonna stay here for a bit.

Connor got to the basement floor first and when he entered the room he saw the villain pulling Stella's sister's hair, she was all naked, bruises could be seen, her left leg was swelling, seeing Connor's reaction the villain let out a chuckle as he throws Ava in a cell.

"You're going to pay for what you did!."

??: I'm going to make sure you eat those words.

He pulls a lever as smoke came from all directions, he disappeared, now cautious he was preparing for a counter attack as soon as he dodges the enemy's strike, but nothing happened.

The moment where he would at least expect the strike to happened, never did. He thought [Did he ran away?] but that wasn't the case, He could still feel his presence in the room and then he just realized the smoke was dulling his senses.

He looks left and right but couldn't see anything, he tries to listen for his footsteps but couldn't hear anything but the sound of the machine emitting the smoke.

Behind him was the villain but Connor couldn't notice him until Gwyn arrives almost slicing up the villain's arm with her sword, He backs away from Connor as Emilia manages to shoot and destroy the machines emitting the smoke.

Oliver then walks to Connor who was being carried by Gwyn,

"Are you okay Boss?."

Connor shot him a thumbs up with his teeth sparkling, but Gwyn could notice how he hides his pain from his other members.

As the smoke clears, the cell which Ava was in, was now empty, the villain gone, Gwyn then says,

"Bones are there any other secret entrances in this room?

Bones: Yep right in front of you is a small pathway into a large room, you have to find a lever or something to open it.

Gwyn: Alright.

Meanwhile Cv was still at his friend's cell slowly trying to wake him up with no success he stops and stare at his friend's dead body.

He sees a blanket next to him and decides to cover his friend with the blanket.

"I... will kill... the one..... responsible for this..."
