Chapter 14: Swords and Guns

A day after Saya and Carla transfered to their school, Saya was able to negotiate to the keeper and now she stays with Dorothy and Arthur, while Carla was at the other side of the building because of no vacant rooms near her King when she enrolled.

At Arthur and Dorothy's room..

*knock ! *knock ! *knock ! "Hey Dorothy you get the door." Arthur said half awake "No I don't want to." Dorothy replied still wanting to go to sleep "Then what about Saya, tell her instead." Arthur suggested "She's in sleep mode and it'd be hard to wake her up now." Dorothy replied "How would you know if you haven't tried?." Arthur said while slowly falling right back to sleep

*KNOCK ! *KNOCK ! *KNOCK ! "Arthur they're still there." Dorothy said while kicking the top bunk "Let's do rock pa-." "GO THERE NOW!!." Dorothy glared at Arthur with a terrifying expression *KNOCK ! *KNOCK ! *KNOCK ! *KNOCK ! "Alright, Alright I'm coming no need to break the door." Arthur said, as he opened the door Carla was in front of him "Do you know what time is it right now? It's 12 in the midnight." Arthur said while squinting his eyes.

"Have you forgotten my King?, at this hour we would be training right now up to 5 in the morning." Carla said while kneeling down "Y-Y-Y-You don't have to kneel Carla, now st-." As Arthur saw Carla looking sad "*Sighs Alright then, you may rise Carla Brewsworth. Let's go train !." Arthur said while clinching his fist in the sky "Dorothy I'll be going now." Arthur said as he closes the door "Yeah, you go to school now *snores *snores." Dorothy replied.

A few hours later

Carla and Arthur were sitting on the bench taking a break from their jogging "You really sure Ms. Ritsu is your g-g-g-girlfriend my king?." Carla asked "Yeah, we just became a thing recently." Arthur said as he smiled "Thing? *Chuckles* then this is my King's first relationship." Carla said as she punched Arthur "Well It appears so, and I'm glad too." Arthur replied, As Carla heard what Arthur said she remembered something from her past

(Flashback)

"Hey Carlyy why do you hang out with that boy so much?." Random girl asked "I don't know really, I just want to hang out with him and I'm glad I am too." Carla replied to the girl

(End of Flashback)

"Well I guess Fate's playing with me right now." Carla said as she gazed upon the stars "Huh? how is it fate?." Arthur asked "Nothing. Let's continue my King." Carla said as she got up and jogged ahead "Hey wait! Carla ! geez we still have classes tomorrow though (Mind) Well it's not like something bad would happen." Arthur said as he proceeded to jog.

"This really brings me back." Carla said as she remembered the past, where she and Arthur would do this daily in their village and at that time Arthur would always be left behind and tired while Carla would be ahead of him "Heyyyo." Arthur waved "How did you?." Carla was shocked "Is me catching up really that shocking?." Arthur asked "*Chuckles No, let's go my King (Mind) I guess we aren't like kids like we use to anymore." as Carla smiled and the both of them continued their training for the remaining hours before 5

"Let's see how far you've gotten my King." Carla said while bringing out her two pistols "Figured you'd end this with a spar." Arthur said while bringing out his sword "Hehh you actually remembered." Carla said with joy but wondered why Arthur brought a wooden sword "What? I could've sworn I brought the Excalibur with me." Arthur said as he was examining the situation Carla laughed so hard she was rolling on the ground "Well I wouldn't need that sword to prove to you how far I've gone Carla." Arthur stared Carla with confidence as he took his stance.

"Oh? you're actually serious? Okay ! I've always loved that about you my King !."Carla said as Arthur remembered

(Flashback)

"Why did you bring a stick my king?." Carla asked as she was laughing "Well I don't need a real sword I just need this one to take you down." Arthur took his stance and smiled at Carla

Arthur smiled as he charged towards Carla while yelling "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!." Arthur yelled as he was prepared to swing the sword Carla then noticed something familiar to Arthur's movements and instead of shooting him, she instead dodged Arthur's every swing "Come on now Carla you still haven't moved on from dodging my every strike, come on !." Arthur said

(Flashback)

The same thing happened with Arthur charging first and instead of Carla shooting him, all she did was dodge his strikes from left to right.

"And you haven't exactly moved on from missing your strikes *Chuckles* This really brings me back my King." Carla said as she kept on dodging Arthur's strikes "Really now? this reminds me of that moment too." As Carla noticed and remembered what Arthur did after the unending barrage of swings Carla then moved behind Arthur "Thanks for the reminder my King." Carla said but as she realized "Checkmate." Arthur replied, Carla was confused on what he just said and when she realized it his sword was already aiming at her neck

seeing Arthur's reaction to Carla's movements made her smile.

(Flashback)

Arthur slashed from above and Carla simply dodged the strike and went behind Arthur leaving him immobilize as she aimed her both pistols at Arthur's head "It's over my King." Carla said confidently "AAAAHHHHH I'll get you next time Carla." Arthur said while he was frustrated and threw the wooden sword.

but everyday when they would end their training Arthur would always loose and Carla being the victor.. it was morning and Carla was walking around and she saw Arthur and his little sister in the bench so she hid behind them "I'm going to beat Carla one day, and when I do we're all going to throw a party, me, you and Carla." Arthur said as he gives his sister a head pat while she was happy, hearing those words put a smile on Carla's face.

"(Mind) You finally did it my King." Carla was so happy "We're going to have to call this a draw." Arthur said "What? but my King you beat me fair and square." Carla reasoned "You win this spar with your own experienc-." Carla said "But I wasn't using my weapon, but next time I will and you'll get to see how much I've grown then." Arthur smiled and pointed out his pinky "Alright then my King I promise, but this is still your victory no matter what you say." Carla said as she made a promise with Arthur through a pinky swear.

After a few hours.. their training was done.. "See ya later at school my King." Carla waved goodbye and Arthur just got back at their room and they managed to finish at 4:30 "I still have a few minutes until we make breakfast." Arthur said to himself as he was very tired from staying up all midnight, he went back to his bed and slowly closed his eyes for a bit

*Buzz *Buzz *Buzz *Buzz *Buzz

Their alarm went on and Arthur was super tired he couldn't get up "Master shall I wake this imp?." Saya asked and Dorothy stared at the tired Arthur and smiled "No Saya, prepare our aprons we'll be cooking for today." Dorothy said "Yes Master." Saya replied.

A few hours later..

"Hey."

"Hey."

.....

"Hey."

"Arthur you gotta wake up now we gotta go to school." Dorothy said as Arthur got up in a hurry he checked the alarm clock and it was still 6:39 and their class still starts at 8:00 so they still got time..

"Sorry for waking you up Arthur I know you're tired from last night's training but we gotta eat now come on." Dorothy said "Al--WAIT A MINUTE!! WHO DID THE COOKING!??." Arthur got up of bed and saw the food prepared at the table *Fact Dorothy and Saya were cooking for the first time and have wasted a few ingredients from their earlier trials "And how did you know about the training part?." Arthur asked "Oh, Carla talked to me yesterday after class if it was okay for you to be out at midnight." Dorothy replied as she was preparing the dishes.

*Yesterday*

"Excuse me, Dorothy may I ask is my Ki- I mean is Arthur fine with going out with me for training tonight? we used to do this in our village and I just wanted to ask your permission." Carla said as she fidgets her fingers "You have to return him before five alright." Dorothy said, as she agreed Carla smiled and Thanked her.

*Now*

"Well I still don't accept it even now, but I'd understand the part where she wants to spend some time with you." Dorothy said as she looks to Saya burning the egg she was cooking "*Sighs* I'd really understand Carla's point of view especially if its for an old friend whether as a maid, guardian or as a best friend from the neighborhood." Dorothy said as she was done preparing everything for their breakfast.

"Let's Eat." Everyone said as Arthur took a bite "This is (Mind) Terrible!." Arthur said "Delicious? UwU I know I'm a good cook myself." Dorothy bragged for almost a few minutes.

After a few minutes everyone was already ready to go to school

*Knock *Knock *Knock "Hang on a minute." Arthur said going towards the door "My King, It's me are you guys ready for school?." Carla asked as Arthur opened the door Carla was in her full uniform and was all ready to go to school "My King, may I g-g-g-g-go with you guys to school." Carla asked and Arthur smiled and said "Ofcourse you can Carla, we're about to go anyways come on in." Arthur said and then Carla had a huge smile on her face "Thank you my King." Carla replied with joy and went inside the room.
