Hate name

"You want to tell the guys about your powers?" asked Maddie as she and Annie were in the library together.

"And I say guys because if Matt is involved that nosy blondie would be involved as well, and I can't ignore that" said Maddie as Annie laughed and she shook her head.

"Well yes, we are going to tell the guys about my powers, besides, I think that Ollie was worried with what happened with the lightweight spell yesterday, and he's not dumb, so he definitely knows that there's something wrong" said Annie.

"If anything that blondie has got brains" said Maddie as she hated to admit it, but it was the truth, he was smart, and she could not ignore that.

"Why do you call Ollie a blondie?" asked Annie.

"Well because he is a blondie" said Maddie casually.

"I mean I don't get it, is that like your nickname for him or what?" asked Annie as she just had to ask, she had noticed that Maddie loved calling Ollie a blondie.

"It's not a nickname, it's a hate name" said Maddie as Annie did not get her at all things were getting more confusing by the second.

"A hate name?? what the heck is that?" asked Annie.

"Look, when you call someone by their first name, it means that you acknowledge them as a acquaintance, a close friend, which I do not consider that Prince, and if you call them by their last name, it's formal, and that Prince's last name is annoying to say, so the next best thing for me to address him by is a hate name which I made for him, using his hair colour" said Maddie as she explained and Annie looked at confused as ever.

"I don't get you Maddie" said Annie as she frowned.

"That's because you don't need to get me my dear Annie, just know that me calling him a blondie, is my little hate name for him" said Maddie as she smiled.

"But I still don't get it, what do you have against blondes? Aren't you blonde? Evie is blonde, Aunt Stella as well, and even Aunt Lucinda, so what makes Ollie any different?" asked Annie.

"Well guys aren't meant to be blonde, makes them look immature, childish and like a lady" said Maddie as she arranged a book back into the bookshelf.

"No, you like Ollie don't you, why else would you hate him so much?" asked Annie as Maddie did as she was about to throw up.

"Ewww no, over my living body, me like that blondie?? A lie, a lie I tell you, it makes me want to barf even just thinking about it" said Maddie.

"Please don't say things like that Annie, you want me to be disgusted, me like him?? Please I would rather date a frog" said Maddie as Annie laughed, she was just testing Maddie and judging from her reaction she really didn't like Ollie at all.

"Alright fine, I was just joking" said Annie as she laughed, she would never get why Maddie didn't like Ollie, she wondered what she hated so much about him, it made no sense to her at all.

"Don't joke with things are serious like that, no don't it's a death sentence, ewww, that blondie" said Maddie as she felt shivers run down her spine just thinking about her liking Ollie, that blondie was not in her league not at all.

"Maddie relax, it was just a joke, geez, you are taking it too far" said Annie as she laughed.

"No I am not, the worst thing you can do is try to pair me up with that blondie, so now, don't do that, in fact, we never spoke about this nonsense" said Maddie as Annie just laughed and she shook her head.

"I already called Matt over here, and that blondie must probably be on his way as well" said Maddie as she scoffed.

"Wait, where is Curtis anyway, he should be here as well?" asked Maddie.

"Well Curtis is with Professor Sapiens, they are talking about some things" said Annie.

"Don't you think that it's weird that ever since we got here, Professor Sapiens and Curtis have been speaking to each other quite a lot, makes me feel like there is something that they are not telling us" said Maddie.

"Yes, I feel the same, but if they aren't telling us anything, then I don't think it's that important" said Annie as Maddie felt like that was right to say in a sense.

"So what's up?" asked Matt as and Ollie walked into the library and Ollie closed the door behind them.

"Finally" said Maddie as she sat down on the couch and Matt sat down beside her and Ollie sat down beside Annie.

"So what did you want to talk about?" asked Matt as he looked at Annie.

"Well you remember how yesterday I had a headache right?" asked Annie.

"Yes" said Matt and Ollie.

"Well that headache that I had wasn't normal, I went to Curtis and he said that I had a headache like that because of my powers, I haven't been using them and my magic is overflowing and if I don't use it, it's going to harm me" said Annie as she sighed.

"So that's why your lightweight spell turned into something else, your magic is too much, it's wild and not controlled" said Ollie.

"Yes that's what Curtis said" said Annie as she sighed.

"Then that's dangerous, how are you supposed to know what amount of magic to use?" asked Matt.

"I don't even know Matt, things are getting harder every single time and I don't get it" said Annie as she sighed.

"Annie and I agreed that she has to cast at least one spell a day, until we really know what's going on here, because it doesn't make sense how your own magic could be your enemy" said Maddie.

"Do your parents know?" asked Ollie as Annie looked at him.

"No, they don't, and I want them to know, because if they do, they will be worried, and I don't want that" said Annie.

"That's a good reason, because I agree, your parents would be more worried than we all are" said Matt.

"I know, and that's why I won't tell them anything, or at least until Curtis finds out what's actually going on here" said Annie.

"So have you tried to use your powers today?" asked Ollie.

"No I haven't I'm too scared of what might happen, I mean a lightweight spell turned into something else who knows what will happen this time" said Maddie.

"But well you have to try, why don't you start with a simple spell, a spell that you know well" said Ollie as Mat agreed with Ollie.

"Annie why don't you try a Levitatis spell on that" said Maddie as she pointed to a glass jug filled with water.

"Okay…" said Annie as she sighed and she focused on the glass jug filled with water as she whispered in her mind "Levitatis" and to her surprise the jug actually levitated up in the air.

"It actually work…"said Annie in surprise as in the same moment the glass jug moved at a great speed and crashed into the wall as the water splashed everywhere and the jug shattered into pieces as it made a loud crashing sound.

"Oh no, I knew it, I knew something wrong would happen" said Annie as she sighed, she never wanted to cast a spell on anything.

"It's fine Annie, it's was a mistake, you didn't do it on purpose" said Maddie as she walked to where the jug had broken and she waved her hand as the jug was as good as new and the water was back in it as the ground was dry.

"Maddie's right Annie, it's not on purpose" said Matt as he agreed and Maddie put the jug back on the table.

"I know, but I mean I can't use magic when it's this dangerous" said Annie with a sigh.

"You just need more practice Annie, cast a spell quickly, wait to see if something goes wrong and quickly undo it, that would be the best way to try to control this" said Ollie as Annie sighed.

"I guess that you are right Ollie, but that's just annoying, I don't want to put anyone in danger" said Annie.

"And you won't Annie, don't think like that, everything will be fine" said Maddie as she smiled and Annie just sighed.

"Maddie is right Annie, don't think like that, everything will be fine, you just need more practice" said Matt.

"Yes, and always be ready in case you need to undo your spell" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Thanks guys, I know that you guys are right, everything will be fine, it will be" said Annie as she forced a happy smile even though she knew that what was happening to her was more complicated than they knew, she could feel that it was, but she didn't want to say anything because she want them all to be worried about her.
