04: Familiar

Azes groaned as he touched his head, feeling the pain of a headache. He used too much magic energy to quickly, causing his underage body to faint. He sighed, feeling tired and looking around, he saw the Phoenix landing on his bed, and also the same man with white hair sitting on a chair near the door. "H-hello?" Azes said while observing the man, he has a faint feeling that this man somewhat important, but he couldn't see why.

"Oh, hello young man. I was waiting for you to wake up." The man said while getting up from his chair, walking towards Azes, and waving his hand, Transfigurating the wood on the floor into a chair, that he sat down on. "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nicolas Flamel, and I am here because you, young man, is a wizard." Azes was stunned, not because this man said he was a wizard, but because of this man's name! Who doesn't know about Nicolas Flamel, the creator of the Sorcerer's Stone!? Luckily his shock was analyzed by Nicolas Flamel as a shock for discovering that he is a wizard, and not about his name. "I know it is shocking for you, young man, but do not worry I'm also a wizard," Nicolas said with a smile while snapping his finger and making a small flame appear on his finger.

"I came here because you have a great talent, I want you to become my apprentice." Azes couldn't even think before he heard the screech of an ignored and jealous Phoenix who was looking at him with eager eyes. Azes smiled and started to pat the Phoenix on its lower left-wing region, where he thought it was his or her weak spot. Nicolas watched as Azes used his finger to slowly live his hand across the Phoenix's wings and pluck out a feather, this feather was almost falling out of the Phoenix's wing, so he just took it out. The Phoenix didn't even seem to care at all, just enjoying the boy's love and care. "Mister Flamel, can I call you Nicolas or Flamel?" Azes asked while trying to sound polite.

Nicolas nodded his head. He watched as Azes took the feather and used it to tickle the Phoenix who started to drowse on the bed. "I want to learn, I really do. I was because of this thing you called magic that my parents died. I don't want to hurt people anymore, so I want to learn how to control it." What Azes said isn't a lie, the original owner of the body died on the hospital hating his own magic, he had a discussion with his family, causing his magic to explode and destroy the house, killing his parents and breaking his legs. Azes still has this boy's last memories, they were filled with happiness that he was free from his curse. Azes sighed deeply, he can't feel if the boy had an Obscuros on himself because he doesn't feel any change in his magic at all, so maybe he doesn't have an Obscuros.

Nicolas gasped for a second, he also thought about an Obscuros, he decided that for the good of the child to look at his memories. He used Passive Legimency to try to look at the boy's memories but was encountered with a barrier, this barrier was thick and produced by pure magical energy. Nicolas was surprised to see such a thick barrier, he looked at the boy who didn't seem to feel the mental attack that he just had. 'A natural Oclumency... That's rare...' Azes really didn't feel anything, because only people who practiced Oclumency could feel the mental attacks, he simply had a thick barrier that protected his mind.

"Very well, I will teach you and help you learn how to control your magic," Nicolas said with a sweet smile, it seems that he didn't need to convince the boy. "As I said before, my name's Nicolas Flamel, you can call me Professor Flamel, Teacher, Master, or even Old man!" Nicolas chuckled "I'm 600 years older than you anyway." Azes nodded his head and got up from the bed, the Phoenix also woke up and flew up landing on his shoulder. "You should name your little friend there." Azes looked at the Phoenix and thought for a second... He then had an idea, he closed his eyes and tried to form a bond between their souls. The Phoenix seemed surprised for a second but then it chirped gladly, accepting the bond.

An invisible line of magic connected Azes' body and the Phoenix's body. Nicolas was even more surprised by this, a Familiar Contract! 'This boy is greater than I thought! Having a contract with a Phoenix on the same day he met it, that's amazing!' Normally a mage would need weeks, months, years to get the trust of a Phoenix. Nicolas himself tried but wasn't able to get a Phoenix as his familiar because the Phoenix did not like him. Azes got some information about the Phoenix, first, it was a female Phoenix, and her name was Azekel. Phoenixes are intelligent enough to have their own language, so they could name their young chicks.

Azes had an idea. He used his system function [Beast Information] to look at his Phoenix.
