Chapter 14

Aidan Shafiq, the anomaly in Heaven. I wondered why the Chief wanted him to stay here. I glanced at the monkey. The golden crown sits on his cranium, glowing underneath the light. There was that unknown power resting inside him, did Chief want that power to himself or did he want to keep the power away from the mortal realm?

There must be something he saw in the future, to make the monkey stay here and bind him to me using the crown. He must have seen what would happen if he allowed Aidan to roam the mortal realm freely. However, to keep such a free-spirited being in this realm might not be a good thing afterall.

The main question here right now is how Aidan managed to obtain such power. An unknown, ancient power that even I do not know its origins. It is the kind of insane power that cannot be contained by a mere human vessel. It'd destroy him. It'll eat his vessel from the inside. It was only a matter of time before he loses control.

The most important thing is how did he enter this realm? How did he travel up from the mortal realm? Who gave him the passage up? How did he manage to pass through the shield without being obliterated? And how did he manage to enter Heaven without the guards picking up on his arrival?

The monkey in question appeared before me. He must've noticed me watching him from a distance and came over, curious to know. "What are you thinking so deeply, Athena?" he asked cheekily. "Are you admiring me?"

"Tell me, Aidan," I said. "Why did you come here?"

"I just wanted to see if I could enter Heaven," he replied.

"That was the main thought that was in your head when you simply decided to ascend here?" I asked. "You were like 'oh, I wonder if I could enter Heaven' and you just simply did without another thought in your human brain."

"Yes," he replied, confused with what I was babbling. "I did just that. I was laying on the ground staring up into the night sky, knowing that the heaven realm existed. And I just thought to myself, what if I could head up? And I just did. I headed up, it was terrible. It took a long time and I got hungry."

And that's why he ate the peaches.

What a simple human being. "And did you not realise that the only way to enter Heaven is to pass through the shield," I said. 

He shrugged. "I didn't notice it," he said. 

I stared at him wordlessly. He's an idiot. Adorable but a fucking idiot. "Are you going to destroy this realm?" I asked. "You brought along a source of unspeakable power here."

He looks at me for a minute too long but didn't answer me. He simply bounded away without answering. I watched as he ran away - the wind buffeting against his clothes and showed off his broad shoulders. I was terrified to know what he was about to do with this realm. But the crown is the only thing that's blocking his powers, and that's why Chief made him wear that crown.

I need to find out more.
