When I woke up, it was already nighttime.

{Eugh, only being able to go outside at night is going to be a pain.}

I got out of the guest room and went to the living room where Magnus was drinking martini and reading a book.

<Hey, Magnus was it? Now that I turned into a vampire. Are there any rules or am I free to do whatever I want?>

<Oh there are rules but first. Here drink this.>

He gave me some kind of alcoholic beverage.

<That is wine mixed with blood.>

I accepted the glass of wine and started drinking it slowly. It tasted heavenly, like the first time you passionately kissed your partner. The smell the texture everything was drawing you into obsession over it.

<Now, let's start with the rules and common sense. In the shadow world there is a government called the clave. They all are shadow hunters which mean humans with low amount of angel blood running through their veins. They are enchanted with runes which only a shadow Hunter can use. Most of them are racist towards the Downworlders. People like vampires, werewolfs, warlocks and seelies. All the races except the shadow hunters have demon blood. Vampires turn by dying with vampire blood in their body, then being buried. Werewolfs can turn mundanes by scratching them or biting them while being transformed into a wolf. Warlocks are made by demons having children with mundanes. And as for seelies, they are angel and demon hybrids. Every down worlder follows most of the rules of the clave. But there are some who do not. The only rules you need to listen to are, One do not kill or harm the mundanes. 2 do not kill other supernaturals because their clan or pack may come to that's revenge for their kindred. And most importantly do net let the mundane world know about the shadow world. If you follow those rules you will survive, if you do not, the clave, vampires, werewolfs and other supernatural creatures will hunt you down. Do you have any questions?>

<Yes, what do you mean, mundane?>

<We call normal humans that?>

<Ok? So what do I do now?>

<Well, I am going to introduce you to other vampires and will show you a couple places you need to know as a vampire and a downworlder>

As he finished speaking he stood up, started walking to the door and told me to follow him.
