Marriage On One Condition, Jacob Should Be Accepted Back.

'Loyal!!! Then I was a traitor, ain't I?'

Jacob looked at the gadgets spread in front of him. Store woman cheerful voice rang in the shop which chased away Jacob haunting delusions for a while.

Jacob was well known for hiking and camping in the wild very often, he picked the necessary tools wisely and double checked the quality. The first thing he picked was 'ultimate outdoor multi-tool.'

Woman on the counter noted, "You look like a person with pretty much good experience in hiking, You choose your gadgets wisely, it was comfy and easy to carry. How long have you been camping?"

Jacob responded with a sarcastic smile, "Pretty long! I am an unfilial disastrous sibling who runs away a lot making the older sister handle the mayhem I have created."

Scrutinizing gaze of the woman fell on the man who was packing up all the items he just bought into the new backpack. "So, you are running away again?"

"Not this time! I have been kicked out by my father."

The woman snickered, "Serves you right! Here is the bill. I am not giving you a discount."

Jacob laughed more as he swiped his hand-down credit card from his sister to pay the bill. As he prepared to leave, she stopped him, "Hey, wait there!!! Here! Take this with you as a compliment from our store. But do remember, I have not yet forgiven you for leaving the woman handle your trouble."

As she said, she passed him a medical kit and elaborated the details about the kit in a quick note. Her earlier friendly mode had changed into a firm yet concerned tone.

"That medical kit has all the vital survival med in it including a med for any reptiles bites. There is a syringe in it. There! Ahh... In the cover... Do you know how to use it?"

Jacob nodded, "Mmm..."

Indeed, he had practiced medicine especially for camping in the most dangerous interior section of forest where it was impossible to get medical or human aid.

The woman retorted grudgingly, "Good! If you still find it difficult, you can check the mini book in the pouch, it also has so many herbal medicine notes."

The smile that the woman brought to Jacob stayed still in his face even when she spoke in a firm voice. Jacob strangely felt a warm sensation that he always felt when his sister was around.

"Thank you! I also thank you for your solicitude to my sister."

Jacob retreated from the shop carrying a new backpack for the new journey and beginning of his life. When he entered the shop, his consciousness was bundled with guilt, terror, and isolation.

However, when he retreated from the shop, the notion of isolation vanished, and now it was filled with the warmth of his sister presence. But what can he do with the guilt he carries.

Esther parting words echoed in his ears, "Jacob! Call me, Will you?"

He stopped momentarily in his trails and spotted a very ordinary garment store. He sure needs a new set of clothes to buy for his camping. He stepped inside and requested a phone to make a call, Esther picked up the call in time to answer, "Hello!"

"Sis! Will you forgive me, If I say give me some time to bury the past and come back to you as a new man and shoulder your burden as a reliable brother?"

"Jacob! Jacob, you called me! Thank god, you called me... Take your time as you wish but don't be reckless. Come back to your sister, I will be waiting for your return. Don't lose hope, and worry not about what happened, your sister will fix everything in no matter of time."

Esther has already sent a party to search Jacob but the result was futile. As she worked between things to fight back the circumstances, she retained more stressed.

Finally, her brother call made one worry less of her shoulders and she conversed to him encouragingly and asked him not to worry about the corporation as she knew ways to handle it.

After a few short minutes passed, Esther hung up the phone call. Her heart eased a bit but it was not sufficient to heal up the heartache she was going through presently.

Esther picked up the photos sprawled in the coffee table in front of her. She then called her father's personal assistant to hand over the picture that he just gave her to take a look at, and humbly claimed, "You can inform father that I have agreed to the marriage proposal. But, based on one condition.

Jacob should be accepted back as his son and all Jacob's earlier privileges should be returned to him when he comes back. That's all I need in exchange for marrying in terms of company benefits."

The old assistant held the photo firmly but his knees wavered when he asked, "Are you sure, my child!"

He was a very old acquaintance of the Shaw family, He provided fifty plus years of service to the Shaw family and also a respectable fatherly figure in their abode. His heart ached to watch the girl that grew in his sight to be engaged in a marriage just to favor the business.

What was more painful than to marry someone whose interest lies only on business affairs. Can you ever feel the love in that marriage?
